We loved the food. KAYA the waitress was awesome. We loved the food. The only thing is that we did not see any entrees or food items with chicken. Other then that, great gem in oak park.👍🏻
I've been dining here for years and they've really taken a lot of steps to help guests feel safe and comfortable.
Excellent service at the bar, excellent service at the table. A great experience overall!!!
Always good food and service. Sam is a great server
Enjoyed outdoor dining and great vending.
Really outstanding food and superb service.
Great food and service. Socially distanced tables indoors. One of my favorite places.
Everything was delicious! Great ambiance and our server was great.
Excellent service. Delicious food in a safe outdoor environment!
Wonderful location in the community. Great food and service following social distancing. Definitely coming again.
Food very good, service very good, total experience, very good.
We ordered pizza, shrimp scampi and duck. Very happy with each entree. Perfect distancing considering Covid virus and easily able to converse within the relatively quiet surroundings.
Food and service were great! We were there on a weeknight.
We've come a number of times -- pizzas were always good. I would recommend for pizzas and salad, not so sure about entrees.
Disappointed this past weekend (Feb 15,2020). The flank steak entree my husband ordered had very little flank steak and alot of potatoes & tomatoes -- one very small square piece of meat and a few bite size pieces. For the $$ cost was not worth it. The desserts took too long to arrive and my gelato (came with a flourless chocolate cake) was half melted when it got to our table.
It was a bit noisy but maybe a busy Saturday night is always that way.
Always friendly service and fine food. A neighborhood favorite.
Attractive dining room. Great service. Mixed review on the food. The lobster bisque was overly salty, crab cakes were very good. Lamb shank was tender but it and the risotto needed more flavor. The beef medallions were a little chewy. The desserts were great, both the chai cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake.
The service was amazing and I highly recommend it for any special occasion. It was Valentine’s Day and the we were seated 15 minutes before our reservation. Food was delicious, and I am looking forward to return soon.
Went with friends to a birthday party in Oak Park and decided to eat after. Booked on OpenTable, liked the menu and thought we'd give it a try. The OpenTable menu was older and different from the actual, but not an issue. Four of us shared the 3 Little Pigs pizza, was crispy, delicious and tasty, we loved it! Salads came with the meals and the ingredients were fresh, crisp and the house salad dressing was garlicky and tasty! I had the chicken piccata with lemon, capers, all over housemade spaghetti! The chicken was pounded thin and tender, lemony and the pasta cooked to perfection! Others had the shrimp scampi over the housemade spaghetti, the stuffed chicken with risotto and the ravioli; ALL delicious. My spouse is from Umbria, Italy, quite picky when it comes to Italian food in America and loved it! Our server, Samantha B, had a great sense of humor and was delightful! The fresh, warm baguette in a paper sleeve was delicious as was the plate of imported olive oil and parm cheese for dipping! This place is DEF worth a visit if in Oak Park or you live there and have not yet been. If we are back in OP, we'd def eat there again. And we loved the idea and gallery of local artists' works! Great job Trattoria 225!
Pleasant neighborhood eatery with great service, nice ambiance, and good food. The walls are decorated with art by local artists. The paper cut art is especially interesting.
Wonderful place to meet for conversation over dinner with friends.
Just delicious! We met with 3 other couples to have dinner before a fundraiser and it was a great decision. My husband and I shared the wise guy pizza & grilled Cesar salad-both were soooo good. I also tasted the duck confit salad and will definitely be heading back to order because it was also delicious. Servings were generous and our waitress was attentive.
Trattoria 225 was a pleasant New Year's Eve dining experience.
Very lovely Christmas Eve dinner of crab stuffed salmon.
Fabulous waitress- Marnie was the best who made a nice night a great one! Great dinner!
Great food and great service as always. Love coming to Trat with family. Spaghetti carbonara was super delicious.
Goat cheese pizza was outstanding. Short rib pasta was heavy on the garlic. I've always loved the pizza here.
Aunts in town
The food was excellent the pasta penne delicious. The waiter had great customer service and was knowledgeable about the food choices and menu.i will recommend to come again
Vegan or food allergies they accommodate everyone!
I am just going to focus on the Beet Spaghetti special that I chose on Wednesday this week. Pass on it. This entree of homemade spaghetti, red beets, walnuts, bitter leaf lettuce was overly dry and the pasta was sticky. There was nothing great about this dish. It is a dish that is more suited as a salad if that. A few of the walnuts made it even more bitter. I ate half of the dish and that was enough. This was a thumbs down night. This was not an easy review to write considering that my wife and I have had great meals in the past in a great neighborhood location.
Always great wonderful staff
First timer at Trattoria 225. Really good. I will be back again soon.
Salads, gluten free pizza and lemon chicken - all outstanding.
Everything was good. Food was well prepared, tasteful and well presented. Ambiance was quiet and pleasant. Our server, Samantha, was perfect: attentive, personable, helpful and efficient.
Always interesting choices. Great service
Service was great!!! The food was delicious. I had the sun dried tomato pesto pasta. The sauce was garlicky and seasoned well. My son has Alfredo with shrimp that was not on the menu but they made it for him and I thought was very accommodating. Will definitely be back.
We have always had good service and food when dining at Trattoria 225. Great little local spot that has been there for years!
Fun Oak Park location. great food. easy to talk with friends. And lots of gluten free options.
My food (sweet potato gnocchi dish) was poorly prepared - probably had been around for awhile. The gnocchi was rubbery - very unappealing. My daughter was also quite unimpressed with her pasta with sun dried tomato pasta...not so good. Grilled romaine salad was quite good. Gelato for dessert looked like it had been in the freezer way too long. Waitress was very good, as was the support staff. Friendly people, just need to rework recipes and make them fresh.
Boys loved their Big Cheese pizza. There wasn’t a piece left over. The entree dish of the day was good but nothing special. Service was very attentive and promptly. Good spot for a family night out.
