Knowing Trapeze for good food from a previous luncheon with Fisher Investments-we returned to celebrate Gerhard,s 80. Birthday. For ever we have been searching for a GOOD RESTAURANT on the Peninsula, however it has been one disappointment after another - very expensive and not good. We know now, that Trapeze is one of the best or THE BEST RESTAURANT for Foodies and for us.
Our table reservation for this special occasion was a little disappointment - however your presentation and quality was outstanding and we certainly will return soon.
Another great meal at our favorite Burlingame restaurant. Two of us had the sea bass which was one one of the dishes on the daily menu. M
Y wife had the special risotto with duck breasts. Both choices were exceptional. Once again great service from the friendly, efficient staff.
Great service. Food has changed. Not for the better. Very bland and tasteless. It will be a long time if ever that we come to dine again.
We love this little restaurant! The server suggested the Lobster and Crab Ravioli when asked for his opinion and it was delicious. He also helped us decide between 2 bottles of wine and the one he suggested was excellent! This shows that the servers are experienced. Because the restaurant is small there is not a lot of room between tables, and the noise level can be a little louder than appreciated, but we still love coming here and would return.
What wonderful treatment and attention at our special anniversary evening dinner celebration! Terrific. This place is a gem.
The restaurant was beautiful; decked out for V-day. The food was great. I wish I could say the same about the service. Our waiter was waiting on too many tables. The table next to us who got seated after us had their salads and wine before we even had water. The waiter kept apologizing to everyone. If not for the food, it would have been a bad experience.
I was extremely disappointed that they had a special (and very expensive!) menu for Valentine’s Day. I wish that had been posted on their website. We ended up just having g appetizets and leaving since none of my favorite items were being served.

Went here for lunch for the first time having been coming here for dinner for many years. The lunch menu was excellent - something for everyone at a business casual meeting. I had the Trapeze salad with grilled shrimp - the salad was mixed red and green lettuce, with small cherry tomatoes and halved kalamatas with feta cheese and a vinaigrette; everything was very fresh and the tomatoes were super sweet. The shrimp was superb - beautifully cooked, still warm on the plate, and the tails came off very easily. I liked that they were on the edge of the salad so they kept their warmth. Noise can sometimes be a problem here at night when the restaurant is full and the bar is busy, but it was not a problem for the lunch hour; the restaurant wasn't full when we arrived but got busier over the course of the meal, but it remained easy to hear each other. Service was excellent as it always is when we come for dinner - attentive but not hovering. I highly recommend this reliable restaurant.
Had a wonderful dinner here. All the food was delicious and well prepared. The fried calamari was some of the best I've had. Very attentive service! We will go back for sure.
We enjoyed another delicious meal with the usual outstanding service. The ahi and risotto on the daily specials menu were delicious.

We took friends there for their first visit for Sunday lunch thinking that the food and service would be good. We have patronized this restaurant for over 4 years.
We arrived and a waiter was prompt in asking us if we wanted anything to drink. Our friends arrived about 10 minutes later and it was another 10 minuted before a waiter came again after being beckoned. We we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant. There were 2 waiters standing at the back chatting.
The service was slow. The main course, veal saltimbocca arrived and it was a piece of dry breaded veal with a piece of fried tough prosciutto or thin ham on top...no sauce. Was the chef actually in the kitchen or were the sous chefs cooking? It was obvious that whoever was cooking had no idea how to prepare this dish.
It was a huge disappointment to our friends who will not return.

A gem in downtown Burlingame with moderately priced excellent European cuisine. It can become a bit noisy if full.
Octopus appetizer was delicious as was the duck breast and Game hen.
We had such an amazing meal at Trapeze on Christmas Eve. Our waiter was so attentive and told us all about each dish and how it was prepared. It was very kid-friendly and my son had a delicious pasta with bolognese sauce. We loved everything about this meal.
Loved eating here. Came on Christmas Eve and we were treated like family. Steve and his staff went out of their way to make my mothers 84th birthday wonderful. The food was amazing!!!! Everyone raves about it. Going back again this week. :)
Had a Sunday lunch here; food was great and so was the service; the Trio French Mini Beignet desert was a bit disappointing!
Just off a busy shop avenue, parking was difficult, but that's to be expected during the holiday season. The restaurant is on the small side, being narrow and deep, with a bar on the left wall in the front half, with a single row of tables that can seat 6 across from it, and all seating in the back half. We were seated across from the center of the bar, where the bar tender shook his drinks over ice with loud and prolonged relish; thankfully that was not too often and quiet conversation was otherwise possible.
The waiter was courteous and helpful, with water and bread refills being timely and unobtrusive. The food was excellent. I had seafood linguini, which was perfectly cooked with no fishy smell. The sauce was light and tasty. The other dishes were of similar quality and size, not being ridiculously small like at some elite eateries, or so huge as to confirm your suspicions about the source of obesity in America.
All in all, a very good experience.
Attractive restaurant with attentive servers. People enjoyed the octopus appetizer, and sea bass; the spaghetti bolognese was superb! Noise level escalated quickly and was the only drawback.
Have been before and enjoyed the meal, but this time the food was cold and had no taste. Will not be going back.
Second time there and seemed to be a different chef. Seafood fettuccine was not in butter sauce as before but gooped up with a tomato sauce. Fewer fish bits than first time. Big parties were being served so maybe they ran out of supplies and time. Service slow and commandeered by big parties in front and back. Saturday night 8-10. Still good time and will try dish one more time. Fun atmosphere and good staff.
Thanksgiving dinner out can be a challenge if you don't want traditional fare. Trapeze was perfect! Excellent food, good drinks, and good service with a full menu on the holiday!
Since the menu has changed, I am finding it hard to find something that I like on the menu. I love the restaurant but since the new chief, the food, in my estimation, is not as good
We like trying new restaurants and had not had the pleasure of dining at Trapeze yet. Burlingame has a bustling downtown and nice choices for food.
I first found the restaurant on Opentable (which I could not do without) and liked the menu, as it looked like I would have lots of gluten free options. I found out they have gluten free pasta, which I was very excited about and will try next time; the grilled salmon called to me on this trip. And it was excellent.
The service was attentive, thorough and thoughtful.
I look forward to going back.
We love this restaurant. The staff is wonderful, the food delicious and the restaurant is very willing to make changes to accommodate our diets. We have favorites on the menu but also enjoy trying some of the dishes off the specials menu. We go to Trapeze for date night and for special occasions. We consider it our “Cheers.”

Another great meal. We are always amazed by the special menu offerings created by Chef Rodriguez. My wife and I both had the halibut with miso sauce/glaze, couscous, and vegetables.

Had a client dinner for 6 and it was very good. Nice table in the corner, so noise level was below average. Jacob, the waiter did a superb job.
This restaurant was so lovely--one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I had the filet mingon, as did another of my companions, and the third had the seafood paella. All three meals were wonderfully done. . We also shared the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer, and each had gelato for dessert. The meal was incredible, the staff was so kind and welcoming, and the ambiance was warm and memorable. I will absolutely be back. Thank you for a perfect evening!

A delightful experience. The restaurant decor and overall atmosphere are lovely, and our food orders (lobster/crab ravioli, game hen, and beef/chicken skewer appetizer) were delicious. Steve was incredibly hospitable. We'll be back.
