Trapezaria Mediterranean Kuzina is a well-known Greek and Mediterranean restaurant in the community of Rockville. The extensive menu consists of a wide array of dishes, all made of only high-quality and fresh ingredients. Menu items include kotopoulo souvlaki, lamb gyro, kotopoulo oreganato, shrimp and scallop combination, dolmades avgolemono and grilled salmon. Trapezaria also provides a full bar menu for customers to enjoy. The interior is decorated in a classic neutral color pallet. Framed artwork and charming accent pieces line the walls of the Taperzaria dining room, crisp white linens line the tables, oversized windows and a large bar sit off to the side.
We went for Sunday brunch and cannot recommend this restaurant for brunch. We've enjoyed dinner there a few times so we had high expectations. The brunch is served buffet style with one table holding hot dishes, one with ONE salad and bowls of hummus and other spreads that were not labeled so we had no idea what they were. Also had no idea what all of the hot dishes were beyond say chicken or fish since none were labeled. There was an omelet "station" but the person making the omelets was hard to find. The other remaining table had one bowl of fruit and two small plates of baklava and another phyllo dessert. Because it was a large table, just those three serving dishes made it look like something was missing. Some of the food was good but it just wasn't what we were expecting and we were disappointed.
The waitress’s recommendations were excellent, including the wine, entrees, appetizers, and desserts. The food was great, reasonably priced, and came at the right time. There were 4 of us and we all loved our food and the Greek merlot we shared.
Food was pretty good. Service was slow. The place isn't laid out very well, as we were sat in the front corner of the restaurant away from the main floor. Felt like we paid a lot for the quality of food. The hummus tasted watered down (gross who does that).
Delicious & authentic food, friendly staff, beautiful setting.
Tasty Greek food made with care. This was my first visit but it will not be my last. The appetizers are flavorful - try the grilled octopus. The entrees are also very good. The Greek sampler platter was more food than enough for one, with generous leftovers to take home. Very, very good!
Beautiful place for good Mediterranean classics.
This restaurant is a new go to. Food is consistently delicious.
We had dinner on Valentines Day here, and the restaurant did the really annoying trick of serving a “special” (I.e. severely limited) menu that was fixed price and much more expensive than the usual menu. Would have liked to have ordered off the regular menu.
Server was very friendly and polite, but at times we felt rushed, at other times ignored. Also had the strange experience that the server seemed personally insulted if we didn’t completely finish every morsel of food (“you didn’t like it” said in a hurt tone).
Maybe we would have enjoyed this restaurant more on a regular night?
Food was tasty though.
Valentines Day event
They had a Valentine's Day menu but that's the only Valentine's Day difference. No ambience . No roses on table . No flowers on table. No hearts. Just tables on top of one another. Next year no Valentine's Day dinner for me
We are never disappointed when we go here. The food is very authentic and tasty. The owner and the waiters are very friendly. We have been here for lunches and dinners
Always welcomed with a smile! Food always wonderful!
We always love eating brunch at the Trapezaria restaurant in Rockville.
Great fish, great lamb, good food overall. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
The plates and silverware on the table were dirty! Gross!
First time for all of us, but not our last. Looking forward to going back. Everything was delicious from our eggplant appetizer to my lamp chops and my husbands grilled octopus. Our friends enjoyed their Salmon and kabobs too!
Excellent food, wine and service for a reasonable price.
Absolutely wonderful and delicious as always! The food, service, ambiance, and experience were all fantastic!
Very good service, however food was average (appetizers above average) and entrees very pricey for level of food. Interior is dated and layout needs refresh. There are other better Mediterranean restaurants in the area. It has potential, but it falls short. Was half empty on a weekend night.
Terrific food. Nice service. Good value. I highly recommend this place. Also, easy to get to, just off I-270 and Rockville Pike. We went there to celebrate an anniversary and had a superb meal.
Always good. Service is excellent.
Excellent dining experience with complimentary parking.
Trapezaria is a great local restaurant. I have had several business meals there as well as some special occasion meals. It is authentic Greek food and the portions are large. Good value and delicious!
The food was excellent but we waited an inordinate amount of time for our entrees. The waiter didn't keep us apprised of the status of our meals until shortly before they arrived.
It started poorly and went downhill from there. We had been before and really liked it - authentic Greek cuisine and well prepared. This visit however, despite a reservation made well in advance, we waited an unusual time for a table and were first shown to a very cramped 4 top right next to the door. Asking kindly to move we were then seated by the windows - lovely spot - and the waiter appeared quickly, took drink orders and promptly disappeared for a prolonged time. A starter was ordered and came in a reasonable time, then another waiter disappearance. when finally we ordered entrees, we waited. And waited. Despite asking repeatedly about the status of our food we finally had to leave to make a 9:15 movie. Not an early show. Whereupon a hurried boxing of meals occurred and we left with our food to, comped, but to do what...eat it in the movie theater? Sorry folks, we won't be back.
service was inconsistant and food was ok . oil for dipping bread was rancid and my one glass of wine was off- maybe the bottle was opened for a couple days
First trip to Trapezaria was a good one. The ambiance is relaxed, service good and noise levels were low enough to enjoy conversation without raised voices. The Greek cuisine varied between fair and excellent. Try the trio of dips - they are outstanding, as are the stuffed grape leaves. Pasticho and Moussaka were ok, the lamb much better.
We go to Trapezaria quite often and have gotten to know the owners and wait staff. They always treat us with great care. I have a table I really like and always ask for it when I make my Open Table reservation. Last weekend they mistakenly set it for a different party, but when we showed up they reset the table to we could have it. The food is good Greek food, with some excellent specials. The lamb last weekend was fantastic. They will also make changes to how food is prepared if you have special dietary needs. They are so accommodating! This is one of our "go to" restaurants in Rockville when we want to grab a good and fun bite with friends.
Great food, the octopus was amazing! will definitely be going back!
This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants - the food, the people, the quality of the experience. We are never disappointed!
They have a very creative menu and I had an excellent lamb dinner. The restaurant has very nice daily specials. I really enjoyed their walnut cake with whipped cream! The waiter and owner/manager were very nice and gave us good service! The friends we came with really enjoyed themselves and will definitely return with us at a later date!!!
Excellent food, especially the lamb and fish dishes.
I love this place. The staff is always super friendly, and make GREAT food recommendations. The chefs know how to cook to perfection, and every single bite is a pleasure.
Great neighborhood spot with great Greek fare at reasonable prices
They take reservations
Not difficult to get in
I can't praise the place enough. The food is always fantastic & now their Sun. brunches are worth the visit for just that. The staff is always friendly, & they take the time to greet you so you always feel welcome.
The brunch was very nice. We have been there for dinner but this was our first time for brunch. It was delicious!
Loved this restaurant. Amazing service, delicious greek food, wide menu, live music!
Nice neighborhood place that is reasonably priced!
Great classic recipes and hearty portions. Plan to go there hungry and when you have a lot appetite for a good meal served in generous portions.
