Trapezaria Mediterranean Kuzina is a well-known Greek and Mediterranean restaurant in the community of Rockville. The extensive menu consists of a wide array of dishes, all made of only high-quality and fresh ingredients. Menu items include kotopoulo souvlaki, lamb gyro, kotopoulo oreganato, shrimp and scallop combination, dolmades avgolemono and grilled salmon. Trapezaria also provides a full bar menu for customers to enjoy. The interior is decorated in a classic neutral color pallet. Framed artwork and charming accent pieces line the walls of the Taperzaria dining room, crisp white linens line the tables, oversized windows and a large bar sit off to the side.
Food is consistently excellent and a value for the price/quality and portions.
We had reservations on a Friday and arrived early following a movie. It wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. Had a couple of Zeos Dark beers that very tasty along with a soup and octopus tentacle appetizer. Fantastic, not chewy and great with the hummus and diced veggies. Very tender. Main meal included the Bronzini that was served whole and was tender, flaky and not dry. The Greek lasagna was OK, but there wasn't much meat and the noodles included macaroni in the layers. Very starch heavy but tasted good overall. You will be treated to bread wedges and our server, who may have also been the manager/owner (we did not ask) brought us a desert and shots at the end of the meal. This is very nice place to eat and easy to hold a personal conversation without feeling like you need to be very quiet. Service was fast and spot on. My wife asked for lemon for her fish and it was delivered in triple seconds later. We will go back to sample some of the other menu items.
I was greeted so kindly when I arrived at the restaurant with my date. Olga took excellent care of us and the food was not only authentic, but fresh and delicious.
The waitress was cleaning the table & droped a soiled fork on my husbands hat, picked it up, saying nothing & walked away. His hat had food on it from the fork. When I took it to her she said “I’ll clean it off”. Isaid to the owner who was sitting there how disappointing I was that she had originally not said a word. He said “ she was a good person & had a good heart”. That of course has nothing to do with it. She obviously should have apologized and taken the hat to clean it off. The owner considered himself right. We will not go back.
The food was not as warm as it should have been.
The service was very good - attentive, friendly.
We love this restaurant. The fish dinners are fresh and delicious and the service is great. This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
The staff was very attentive and pleasant. This was our first time here and I have to say, I was pleasantly suprised.
We love this authentic Greek spot. The food is always fresh and just like Greece where we visited recently.
I have been here about 8 or 9 times and will continue to patronize here
Trapezaria is one of our favorites. They have convenient, "FREE" parking in the rear. Their trio of dips is terrific. We shared a nice bottle of Greek wine. We teased them about having more raisins in their rice pudding dessert. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
We went for the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The staff was friendly. An excellent value at the price of $15.95. Will definitely return.
The food is fantastic with enormous portions. Grilled octopus was the best I have ever had. The décor was pleasant and waitstaff were very attentive. But as the evening progressed, the decibel level became overwhelming to the point we couldn't hear each other across the table.
The best Greek Buffet I have ever had. Service is exceptional. You can't go wrong, especially their Sunday brunch.
Authentic Greek food with all your favorites. You have to remember to save room for dessert because portion sizes are above average and it all tastes so good it is hard to have leftovers. The service is friendly and help you to speak the menu language.
We eat here once a month whenever we take another couple to dinner. The food and service is consistently good and we know our friends will be have a great time and eat well.
Very relaxed environment, waiter was relaxed almost to a point of rudeness. I am probably less than half his age though so maybe thats the reason?
With the wonderful Manny at the helm, a more memorable evening could not be had!
From the delicious dolomades to crisp Greek meatballs to the authentic salad with generous feta and olives, everything coming from the kitchen was carefully- even lovingly- prepared. The moussaka was just as great as usual in this family run restaurant. The retsina wine was unusually fruity and light and perfectly chilled as it should be.
And don’t forget the desserts. Luscious!!!
Enjoyable staff, wide menu choices, even tapas. The food is hearty and authentic.
Really good food, not rushed at all.
We always enjoy the food here. An added bonus is that there is mostly covered free parking which permits you to enter the building without too much exposure to the rain.
Lukewarm cafeteria quality food lacking depth and flavor.
The food was plentiful, prepared perfectly and delivered promptly. Always excellent.
We always enjoy eating the wonderful Greek food at Trapezaria restaurant. Staff members are always friendly and welcome us to the restaurant.
Food was not good. It obviously was microwaved as it had hot and cold spots. Not properly seasoned. Did not eat most of it and I would not return.
Lovely dinner - I got the Greek Margarita and the Vegetarian Dream as an entree, both were really delicious and flavorful. The service was great - our waiter was friendly and attentive, and two other higher level staff checked in on us over the course of our time there to make sure we had everything we needed. The dining area was appealingly decorated and surprisingly spacious (a lot of restaurants cramp tables together so that you barely have space between groups, but this restaurant had a very nice, more open layout that provided for a more intimate dining experience). All in all will be back, and highly recommend for people interested in trying traditional Greek and other Mediterranean dishes.
My experience at Trapezaria has always been good. Prompt and friendly service, high quality food, great decor and ambiance, and great prices for the quality and amount of food. Highly recommended for brunch, dinner, and dates.
The setting is nice enough, and the service was pleasant, but the food was disappointing, to say the least. We shared several small plates, none of which was particularly tasty. For example, the plate of beets with goat cheese and walnuts was just that—some slices of beet sprinkled with walnuts and goat cheese. Nothing really tied it together or elevated it beyond its separate ingredients. In fairness, we didn’t order main dishes, and perhaps that’s where this kitchen shines. But I’ve had wonderful small plates at many other Greek restaurants, and I was expecting much better.
While the food was not inexpensive, it was delicious and the portions were sizable. The service was attentive even though we ate outside and were the only diners out there. Because we were outside, the noise level wasn’t really reflective of inside the restaurant. We would go again which is the real testament.
Good food, nice atmosphere, mostly covered parking (so you don't get wet in bad weather), and good service.
Grilled octopus, lamb and Greek wine are terrific! We had a great table with terrific wait staff and really enjoyed our meal, look forward to coming back again
Terrible service, I’ve had better Greek food at many other places.
Got the sampler and some chicken. The cinnamon in the lasagna was so tasty. There is a dish with beef and potatoes that tasted so good. A taste I have never tasted before. They give you free pita bread to start out. Great time!
We’ve eaten here several times. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. They also have in interesting wine list with many Greek wines.
Went there for Mother's Day Brunch. Friendly-staff, yummy food, family-feel!
Would definitely go back!
We went for Sunday brunch and cannot recommend this restaurant for brunch. We've enjoyed dinner there a few times so we had high expectations. The brunch is served buffet style with one table holding hot dishes, one with ONE salad and bowls of hummus and other spreads that were not labeled so we had no idea what they were. Also had no idea what all of the hot dishes were beyond say chicken or fish since none were labeled. There was an omelet "station" but the person making the omelets was hard to find. The other remaining table had one bowl of fruit and two small plates of baklava and another phyllo dessert. Because it was a large table, just those three serving dishes made it look like something was missing. Some of the food was good but it just wasn't what we were expecting and we were disappointed.
The waitress’s recommendations were excellent, including the wine, entrees, appetizers, and desserts. The food was great, reasonably priced, and came at the right time. There were 4 of us and we all loved our food and the Greek merlot we shared.
Food was pretty good. Service was slow. The place isn't laid out very well, as we were sat in the front corner of the restaurant away from the main floor. Felt like we paid a lot for the quality of food. The hummus tasted watered down (gross who does that).
Delicious & authentic food, friendly staff, beautiful setting.
Tasty Greek food made with care. This was my first visit but it will not be my last. The appetizers are flavorful - try the grilled octopus. The entrees are also very good. The Greek sampler platter was more food than enough for one, with generous leftovers to take home. Very, very good!
Beautiful place for good Mediterranean classics.
This restaurant is a new go to. Food is consistently delicious.
