Dont go in the bar area to eat....very noisy. I ordered NY Strip Medium Rare, my fiance a filet Medium. Mine came out Medium, her filet Medium rare. My strip was very well done at one end. Overall good taste...
Traditional. Great value. Old school. Vintage ambiance. Great martinis.
I made reservations online and had no problem getting seated. Our server, Sergio, was kind and accommodating. Our dinners were delicious! My friend ordered a cocktail that she didn't like. When she ordered another, this time at the bar, the bartender saw that she had not drank the first one and asked her about it and gave her a different drink at no charge. Then we sang and danced at karaoke provided by First Class Entertainment. We had a wonderful time!
Our server was great.
We ate at Trancas because the signs out from touted that they serve the 'World's Best Prime Rib....according to Norm'. I don't know who Norm is, but we completely disagreed with him! The rest of the food was great, service was amazing, ambiance was great, we were just disappointed in the bland prime rib. If we were to recommend this restaurant to a friend, we'd definitely tell them to try something other than the prime rib.
Love this neighborhood gem! Food is really good and the staff is outstanding. Have never been disappointed.
This a great place for prime rib. We have had a variety of meals there and have not been disappointed. Quite a hopping place on weekends due to karaoke if you are into that.
Great dinner. Great server. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
What a breath of fresh air in this unpretentious joint in the heart of Napa. Food was just what you expect from a steakhouse and prices were very reasonable especially for the area.
Casual, lively place to have steak/prime rib, etc.. Good service.
Good for a date. Value is terrific for the price. They will split their biggest steak for two people. The Caesar salad is a must. Good well drinks and a fine beer collection.
This is my second time at Trancas Steakhouse, this time for my birthday, and I appreciate the consistency. The prime rib is very good. Not the best I've ever had, but better than most. My wife enjoyed her fillet as well. Everything is cooked exactly as asked for, plus there's a good selection of appetizers. The Crème Brûlée dessert was a pleasant surprise as it had several flavors including a hint of lemon. This is now my "go to" steakhouse.
AMAZING Homemade soup and salad dressing on beet salad. The prime rib cooked to perfection every time!
The cocktails are excellent. First restaurant in a long time where the waitress makes sure that the food is served in order. She would ask to make sure we were ready for the next course. More dining experience. We didn't feel rushed at all. We ordered prime rib and steak and both were cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great place for family and friends. It is one of the only restaurant you are not rushed and can hear each other talking. Monica our waitress was amazing!!! The only thing I would change is to make the meat in the french dip more rare.
This was a hidden gem in Napa. It appears to be a favorite of the locals as many people seemed to know each other. I am glad we went there, it was a very friendly atmosphere, great food, great service. A great local eatery.
The prime rib was cooked to perfection! The fish of the day was patrale sole and it was amazing! The fish portion could have been larger for the price.
Apps were delicious. Prime ribs were cooked to perfection as ordered. Very nice and adequate wine list. Service outstanding.
We have been to Trancas several times for lunch and dinner. We were there for my husband's birthday and we received the worst service to date. We were not even offered a refill on our water or bread. We requested dressing on the side for salad but it was on the salad. For dinner on a special occasion I would not recommend.
Excellent prime rib and sirloin steak was cooked medium rare as requested. Many choices from the wine list. Caesar salad and mixed green salad were excellently prepared. An excellent, moderately priced steakhouse.
Local fun Steak House very casual!!
Active Bar with all ages
Good food good for groups, the prime rib is very good
Just when we expected
Once again, mixed reviews. It's way too dark in there - some had to use their phone light just to see the menu. Food was good/ok. They had a scallop special for dinner and the scallops were only seared on one side and tasteless (I'm assuming frozen). For the price it was a huge disappointment. However, our other food was good. Drinks were a mixed review also. All in all, it's not somewhere I would return to except that for some reason my Mom likes it there...
Delighted with everything about this establishment. The food was delicious and service friendly!
We always look forward to eating at Trancas Steakhouse!!!!
Just fine - old time, traditional prime rib dinner house
We had a wonder time! I loved how the restaurant gave a cozy yet welcoming environment. Then to end the night we had an amazing time karaoking. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
We were seated in the back of the restaurant. We must have waited 15 minutes and our server never showed up. We had to get up and ask another waitress to serve us. She said it wasn’t her assigned table but she would serve us anyway. She took our drink orders and the drinks came fairly quickly. Another lady came around asking if everything was ok so we told our story.
Then dinner came and they forgot my friends dinner order so she had to wait while we ate our dinner. The rest of us has ordered prime rib which was good but we were finished with our meal before my friend got hers.
They did Comp us on my friends dinner and our first round of drinks.
We have eaten there several times before and not had a problem but I don’t think we will go back.
All five of us thoroughly enjoyed our prime rib, fillets, and prawn dinners. Although not "the best Prime Rib in the world" as advertised outside, it's pretty darn good, with only Red Tracton's in San Diego beating out Trancas Steakhouse in this department.
The artichoke appetizer was unusual but excellent. It tasted like it was par-boiled and then roasted. Next time I want to try the calamari appetizer as well. The crème brûlée dessert was also wonderfully creamy with a hint of citrus.
The service was attentive and the only time there was a bit of a wait was when we were done and wanted to pay the check. It was noisy, but when the very loud party next to us left the restaurant a bit after we sat down, the noise level wasn't oppressive.
I saw some mixed reviews and was nervous about coming here, as it's not inexpensive, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I told my wife I want to come back here for my birthday dinner in April. Big thumbs up!
Service was a little slow, food good
We’ve been here before and the foid and service are great! This visit was V day so very crowded and louder than usual.
Food & service great but the restaurant is so loud.
The food was amazing, the prices and portions were perfect! We will definitely come to Trancas again!
Great place for a cozy dinner on a windy, rainy cold night! Despite all of that, there were two hardy people dining outside. French onion soup was fabulous. Atmosphere lively and welcoming.
The food was excellent as well as the service. My only issue is we had a reservation, but we would have had to wait for a seat in the dining room. We were given a choice to wait or be seated in the banquet room. This was fine, but would have preferred the dining room without a wait.
Steak perfect. House wine below Par, especially for this valley.
Always a good meal here. Nice place, good menu and great service.
