The food was ok, but just ok. We expected it to be a lot better considering the prices. The waiter also played a part in our lack of enjoyment. We were eating before going to a show and asked to order 3x before he took our order. And we reminded him again we needed to go to the show when trying to pay our bill. He kept saying “I know”, but still did not respond to our requests. There was nothing high end (except the prices) about our experience. Will not return to that restaurant again.
Really enjoyed the food and the dining experience
Great service and they know the details of fine dining
Really-Italian restaurant with fresh choices.
Great wait staff and great view.
Great service and food, too bad the big table next to us made it a poor experience. Realtor/broker types swearing and talking big money, oh so proud.
Always a treat to eat ! Amazing seafood!lovey place !
It took 25 minutes to get service.
Had to go ask the hostess to find someone to help us.
Great Staff, excellent cuisine and extensive wine list. Lobster Bisque is exceptional.
Our meal was delicious and the service was very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner which should be a romantic and special evening. Sadly the food was not good and the amount of time we waited in between the starter and the mean was outrageous. Arrived at 830 and did not leave until 1030. The main arrived only 15 min before we left. Oh and as part of a set menu... prawns and scallops came... cold! Very disappointing.
A great place to celebrate a special occasion. Service was excellent throughout the evening. The meals are not inexpensive, but the portion size for the meat dishes was larger than many comparable restaurants. One of the dishes we ordered had clearly been modified from the menu description (and I suspect the servers were not notified), but otherwise all of our meals were cooked perfectly. The lamb was fabulous. Was very pleased to discover that the corkage fee is only $25 - a definite plus when you want to bring a special bottle of wine.
Nice ambiance, staff friendly and provides great service and good food and presentation.
Our expectations were set very high for Tramonto. Sadly, we were very disappointed.
Tramonto bills themselves as a 'Fine Dining' restaurant but I'd rate them a few step down to something like Earls. Casual dining at best.
We will not be returning.
The food, service and ambience are all very good. Only complaint is the very high price of booze. Almost a rip when wine is at least 3 times liquor store price.
Service was good, staffs were very friendly, food was delicious. Will recommend to family and friends.
The service was the best I have ever had. Definitely gonna recommend this restaurant to my friends
I had been to Tramonto last year for dine out with friends and really enjoyed the food, however this year I was disappointed with the main course and dessert the soup was very tasty. My choice of cod I found it to small pieces of over fried cod, as for the dessert I thought there was very little toffee and dry pudding with a very small dab of ice cream. When I asked my co workers they felt they said the same thing about the cod, the chocolate dessert had very little chocolate.
I found the wine to be very expensive and was disappointed the the gratuity was included without any notice prior to booking as I spoke with Mckenzie several times who was very pleasant I was disappointed with our waiter his service was okay but not a warm or friendly person
The overall experience at Tramonto was okay. The only let down was the quality of food. My friend and I chose this restaurant to try the dine out menu because of the good ratings on Yelp. Great customer service and love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Scallops were a bit small and has a “ocean-y” taste and the fried cod was a bit dry.
The food choice is not good at all.
Very good service on a busy Dine Out Vancouver evening. The food needs a little bit of refining but the quality was very good.
It was a perfect way to end the year! We had a tremendous time from the beginning to end. We definitely recommend the Tramonte where the waiters know their business and the ambience is a welcoming and warm. The food was perfectly cooked and we had a good choice of different types of meals. Overall a wonderful place to go. Thanks for making the evening so special!
Our party of 4 had one vegan. It was a major production. The chef was not very accommodating. One person had the scallop appetizer which was not what he expected. The scallops came in the shell with the orange skin part still there. The salads were okay. One person ordered the cornish game hen and was not impressed. One person had the rack of lamb and said that was excellent. Another ordered the spaghetti and said that was good. The vegan had a small plate of quinoa and vegetables which was okay. For the price we would not go back. Too bad because the view is excellent.
Lovely dinner with family. Excellent service. Slight problem with one entree that was rectified quickly.
WE USE THE TRAMATO RESTERAUNT ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. THE FOOD IS GOOD, THE WINE LIST IS GREAT . MOST OF ALL THE SERVICE IS 5 STAR . GREAT WAITERS, THANKYOU
From the time we walked in until the time we walked out it was all fantastic. The hostess was great and our waiter Steve was AWESOME!
Great wine and food recommendations.
Great place to bring your date , or birthday , or anniversary :)
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience right from the warm and friendly greeting to the great table service which was attentive but not too much so, to the spectacular food. Will do it again and recommend it to friends.
Service was slow, place was dead, over priced wine, restaurant was cold.
Night out at a show in the theater. Very accomodating in getting us in and out in time for the show. Excellent food.
Lovely view of the waterfront/marina and great view of the sunset. Ideal for plane watching too!
We had a picture-perfect table right near the window. Two ordered steak and it was fabulous! One ordered lobster bisque and the lobster special and again was excellent. One ordered sea bass and it was a little dry and perhaps overcooked. All in all the food was very good. Our waiter was entertaining and knowledgeable - Farouk!
We arrived right on time and had immediate seating at a very nice table. Service was prompt and very good. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing and very helpful in describing selections both food and wine. we were allowed to enjoy our meal without constant interruptions but staff were always aware when we wanted help. I've always enjoyed the ambiance of the room and the view was spectacular that evening. Being early diners we appreciate this service very much. Elegant evening dining and an early bedtime.
Perfect. Thank you.
second time eating here. very good service, nice quiet place, great presentation, over priced for what they serve.
Amazing dinner! Celebrated my birthday - we ordered, duck foie gras and bison carpaccio for appetizer, followed with beef short ribs and mediterranian sea bass and it was delicious!! A bit disappointed with the dessert, 'sticky toffee pudding' - I highly suggest to deliver what the menu says (if cant deliver remove from the menu). However, our server Chris, very professional, effecient and quick to make brilliant solution. Its because of his friendly and impeccable service that we will be coming back and still will recommend!
This was the second time we dine at Tromonto, River rock restaurant. Both visit were excellent because of the ambiance and great food, not to mention excellent service, like providing blanket when the costumer is feeling cold. Great welcome from all the staffs including the managers.
The lady on the reception was very friendly and volunteer to take pictures for the family.
We will strongly recommend the place to our friends and relative for future events and treating our out of country guest for special
Service was great, foods were tasty with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.
I went there with my family for a special occasion. And we had a year and half year old toddler.
Pretty much 5-10mins after we arrived, our kid started playing with a spoon and a butter knife. I was sitting next to her and we were watching her not to let her do anything dangerous or wrong.
But the server came all of a sudden from behind, grabbed our daughter's wrist, and took the butter knife away. It was quite aggressive to us just by watching it, he didn't even say anything.
That made us all feel like we are not welcomed here although I did mention about our kid when I booked the table.
We asked to change our server and the manager came to apologize to us, but we were very disappointed with that ecperience.
We had never been to Tramonto. The food menu offered great options. The beverage menu could benefit from a broader selection of non-alcoholic beers and bubbly. The staff, Chris, followed by Steven were very good. It would've been respectful to understand why we experienced a staffing change as we were engaging with Chris and then Steven became 'ours' with no explanation as to the change. It's not like the restaurant was crowded at the time. The food was lovely. Steven did a great job of reminding us respectfully that he would be providing us with pauses and breaks in order that we fully enjoyed and experienced our special outing and great dinner. Thank you to the chef and to Chris and Steven and we will recommend Tramonto.
The food was excellent. Our service was terrible. Other servers appeared to be doing a great job, ours basically ignored us.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the Caesar salad and the lobster bisque. My friend had the braised beef short ribs which were tender and tasty.
