What does Tramici mean? It means "among friends" and Tramici is the place where you want to be with friends and family to enjoy delicious American-Italian fare including Housemade Mozzarella with Basil, a crispy 4 Cheese Pizza with Arugula, and your favorite standbys like Spaghetti and Meatballs or Oven Baked Lasagna. This lunch and dinner restaurant is the second venture of Dave Snyder, owner of Halyards and The Halyard Restaurant Group. Chef de Cuisine Adam Jones is on hand to ensure warm hospitality and a great experience. The decor is casual and highlighted by a 18 seat bar, 8 tables in our courtyard, and an open kitchen to watch the delicious food come out of the Wood Stone Oven. The adventurous wine list and cold tap beers will pair well with the menu that is changed with the seasons. Tramici Ratings and Reviews
It was the longest wait we've ever had past reservation time (7:30 reservation, seated about 8:05) but the place was wall-to-wall. Tramici is always excellent and we enjoy it. We recommend it to others often, too. One of St. Simons Island's consistently best! We appreciate Dave Snyder and how much he gives back to the island.
I can’t really comment on the food as we never received any. We were seated at around 7:05 and by 7:30 received a glass of water and that was it. Our order was not taken. So we walked out. It seems like a decent place. Maybe they just need to hire and train better. Went across the street to Sals, had a great meal, there was no wait and everything was excellent. Tramici, thank you for making me go to Sals.
My husband and I love Tramici. We had their calendar. Good flavor, slightly overdone. We split the salad on special - it was great. The drinks were great as well. I had a vodka, basil, lemonade cocktail - husband has same cocktail but the instead of vodka. We both had the cioppino. Flavor was good. Would've preferred it served with a savory polenta than beans. Shrimp and mussels in the dish were good. Very little crab in the dish. Overall, a great place.
Tramici never disappoints. It is consistently excellent: great location; relaxed, pleasant ambiance; helpful, friendly service; and fine Italian food at a fair price. It is one of my favorites "go to" places on St. Simons Island. Dine indoors, or on the garden patio, the staff, cuisine, and service are always superb. My favorites dishes are their Cobb salad and chicken picatta. The menu is extensive so that choosing can be difficult, but the staff is knowledgeable and helpful with deciding. The wine list is long, diverse, and affordable. Indoors, the restaurant bustles and is often loud, so if one desires a more serene experience, the garden patio is the solution.
Absolutely amazing - from the staff to the food and wine selection - Chef does wonders and each entree is perfect. My friend got the shrimp pasta and was amazed by how fresh and how many shrimp came with it! We shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer and it was wonderfully delectable! Definitely my favorite Italian restaurant - better than any I've tried in Atlanta or elsewhere!
I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a quality customer service experience. My parents were visiting SSI for their anniversary, and I wanted to treat them to dinner. I called on Thursday (reservation for Saturday) to inform the restaurant that they would be coming, and I wanted to leave my Credit Card information for the bill to be taken care of. The woman who answered, who I assumed was the manager was extremely short from the get go, a red flag I should have paid attention to. She assured me their bill would be taken care of, and everything would be great. I talked with my parents soon after their dinner, and the waitress had NO idea that my credit card was on file and to be used. So, they charged my Dad. My dad said something to indicate he thought the bill was covered- and it was only then the waitress figured out that my card was on file. AFTER they charged my dad. How embarrassing! I then called the restaurant ( yes on a busy evening), and asked to speak to the manager about a billing issue. The woman who answered the phone was polite- but didn't put me on hold, I heard the convo between the manager (i assume) and the gal who answered the phone. Again, I feel as if I have been dismissed. She said 'it was too busy that they would have to call me back'... I wanted to do something nice for my parents, and unfortunately it backfired. I will NOT recommend any of their restaurants to anyone. Poor customer service, and rude management. Unacceptable.
Often rated one of the best restaurants on SSI, but believe the other Italian restaurant edges this restaurant out. Service was too good in that we had no time to converse! Our salads came out immediately and I hadn't finished when my entre came, making us feel rushed. I had the special filet, but no starch served-unusual for an Itlalian restaurant. Check came without an offer for dessert. Disappointing especially since it was a birthday dinner and again making us feel rushed.
Our 3rd visit in 2 weeks! Tramici is our go to place in St Simon for consistently delicious meals. Interesting menu with many options. From a Variety of salads & appetizers to innovative pastas (short rib ravioli) and amazing seafood entrees ( salmon on risotto). Not to be missed.
We dined at Tramici for the first time recently. We had the Antipasto appetizer, which was delicious. My husband and I both had daily specials of Veal and Salmon. The Salmon was perfectly cooked as well as the accompanying green beams, mushrooms and onions. The flavor of the veal was wonderful as was the sauce and pasta it was mixed with. We will definitely add this to our St Simons restaurant favorite list.
