5 star service
5 star authentic tasting and perfected Italian food.... exactly like a restaurant off the beaten path in Italy (the best ones).
Bolognese was steak (brisket like) as opposed to ground beef so was unique and delicious.
Veal cut like butter, was browned perfectly, tasty but not gamy unlike almost all other restaurants.
Nice atmosphere... a little noisy like Italy too lol
They never disappoint
First time at Trama after hearing many good things. Food was fantastic. I had the veal, my wife had the salmon. Both dishes were top notch and we certainly will be back.
It is always a joy to dine at Trama's. The food is delicious. My only fret is deciding. Went with the bolognese - so good!!! We were too full for dessert so we decided to start with dessert next time. Best Italian restaurant in the area.
I live in Monmouth County and have been to too many of the local restaurants in Long Branch, Asbury, Red Bank and elsewhere. Tramas is a top 3 MoCo restaurant (along with Via45 and either Drew’s, Char or Picola Italia) for me. It’s subjective, quite obviously, but this was our fourth time here and like each prior visit, it didn’t disappoint.
As always, Chef Trama outdid himself with a whole fish! We get email blasts with the weekend’s specials, and saw that a whole pompano roasted in a chimchurri sauce was one of them. It was amazing, as was the charred brocollini that came with it. We love eating at the bar, an all around delightful, cheers type experience.
chef pat never fails, food is unbelievably consistant and outstanding everytime. the veal parm gets my mouth watering thinking about it. shawn our waiter was outstanding always on top of our needs and just knew what we wanted without even having to ask, his personaility just brings a huge smile to your face and just ties the whole expiernce with a bow. cant forget the help of rein and the delicious drinks poured by rob there bartender. BEST food on the jerseyshore.<3 ill always be coming back for more!
Everything from the service to the food was exceptional. Pleasant ambiance and we are looking forward to going back.
My second experience here with out of town guests and my second amazing experience. All three of us agreed 100%. The food was perfect, the service was far above average without being overwhelming and the ambiance was lovely.

Always a wonderful meal! Consistently is key!!!
Very delicious. Service was great.
Fabulous dinner with friends. We are always excited to bring guests with us to Trama because we know the food and service are always exemplary. Never disappointed
Thank you chef Pat
Fun, adventurous and balanced menu. Everything was fresh, well prepared and well presented.
Service was helpful and friendly. This is a very old restaurant Everything Ama wished it was.
High end restaurant with good food and extremely poor untrained servers
Having eaten in many NYC restaurants, upper end NJ restaurants and many around the world, I consider myself an experienced diner. Trama's is one of the finest examples of a place to eat as I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Beautifully prepared, wonderfully presented and such wonderful food. Service was very friendly yet not over the top. I could not recommend Trama's any more highly. The Mussels were to die for and the Pork Chop spectacular. The other menu items we shared were as wonderful.
It was Valentine's Day, and we were able to get a table at Trama, which was a coup. Dinner was delicious. Trama truly has the best bread around, which is a wonderful way to start any meal. I would go just for that any night of the week! For apps, we had the caprese salad w/ basil, which, even though was made with winter tomatoes and not our famous summer fresh Jersey tomatoes, had a wonderfully fresh taste. Also had a caesar salad... always good, and a side of broccoli rabe that we ate with the crispy bread, soaking up the garlic butter sauce. For the main course, two of us had the pork chop topped w/ blue cheese which was served w/ broccoli rabe and a sweet potato. It was outstanding but almost too big.... should have taken some home to enjoy it again the next day, but chose to eat it all anyway. Another had the spaghetti w/ clams, which also didn't disappoint. The 4th dish was the carbonara... No complaints anywhere.
Trama has a nice bar, delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Although it is on the pricey side, it's still one of our favorite restaurants, & we would highly recommend it to anyone.
Trama's is our favorite. We highly recommend to friends.
As always this place never disappoints . Everything is always spot on no matter how busy it is .
Wife had the Salmon and was great . I had the pork chop and it was cooke to perfection .
Food and service is fabulous!!! Best Italian in South Jersey! 6 people for dinner and everyone enjoyed! Not one complaint!!!
This is my second visit here and it was as fantastic as before. My guests and I had an event so decided to just share 3 apps and a side and couldn’t finish all the fabulous food! The shaved artichoke salad was again, delicious. The fried calamari perfectly prepared and deliciously paired with a great sauce and delicious small tomato salad. The fresh ricotta with eggplant and olive spread was amazing. And the Brussels sprouts were perfectly charred and flavored. We just we had had more time (and room in our stomaches) to finish all of the great food. We will definitely be back!
Trama’s is a wonderful, delicious restaurant. This was our 3rd time there. Will definitely be back. Our waiter, Andrew, was excellent!
We had not visited Trama's in a couple of years, but now Ama is no more we were craving some of the chef's specialties. We were in on a Saturday evening with friends and the place was packed. We started with some delicious hand crafted cocktails then moved on to appetizers and entrees. Service was friendly and attentive and we did not feel rushed (nor did we feel we waited overlong for dishes). Everyone was very pleased with their choices. We loved the crusty bread and appreciated that real parmesan cheese was grated onto our dishes. We will definitely be back soon. There are many Italian restaurants in the area but few very good ones, and this is one of them.
The food was delicious. It’s a great, local restaurant that you can feel comfortable going to every week
We were sat at a table up front by the door and were uncomfortably cold the entire meal. The waiter seemed to want to rush us out. He took away an appetizer dish before it was done (did not ask). Then at the end of the meal he never asked us if we wanted tea or coffee with our desert. We have been at this restaurant several times and this was the first bad experience. Seems like the restaurant should reconsider using a curtain to stop the draft when it is cold out.
Excellent dinner. Very happy with the food and service. Will definitely go back!
Awesome Experience and presents a wonderful local fine dinning experience.
Always great food. The veal parmigiana is spectacular. The pastas at so fresh.
Trama never disappoints! Outstanding service as always from Andrew and the rest of the staff. The mussels, baby artichoke salad, and pasta dishes were perfect!
Our forever favorite place to dine.
Trama’s is one of the best restaurants in the area!
Trama’s is worth a visit. Each meal was executed well. The mussel appetizer is a must try! The only area of improvement I can recommend is the kitchen needs an expediter. My wife was served her meal approximately 5 minutes prior to mine. I noticed this also happened at other tables too. This should never happened at the better restaurants.
As for pricing, for the exception of the biscotti cookies, I thought the menu was fairly priced. The biscotti cookie are priced at $18 for 6 small cookies. This must be a menu misprint, I hope!
We will definitely return to Trama’s.
We always recommend Trama to everyone we meet.
We feel like family when we have dinner at Trama and you will too
It was our first visit to this restaurant. We thought the service was excellent, the dishes were very good but extremely tomato flavored. I had the veal Parmesan which was nice and crispy but again, had too much tomato sauce. The Caesar salad was one of the best ones I’ve ever had.
Nothing beats this restaurant. We drove 4 hours to get here from Long Island. It was worth every minute. The food and service are phenomenal. You can’t get Italian like this anywhere else. Do not miss this spot.
Overall the food was delicious though the calamari was over cooked. We had to keep asking for our water to be replenished. Our waiter was very polite and friendly. The noise level was very uncomfortable and we were all hoarse when we left.
Excellent quality food and the servers were more than accommodating, even moving us to a quieter table. The only negative thing I can say is that the noise level is high making conversation difficult.
