Food is always excellent
Solid as usual
I would highly recommend Trama's Trattoria! The food was excellent and so was the service. We had the calamari as an appetizer. The breading was light and the seasoning used was delicious. It also came with an arugula and vine ripened tomato salad on the side which was great, because we had been contemplating ordering an appetizer salad to split and didn't need to. We both ordered the rib eye which was phenomenal. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For dessert, we had the raspberry crostata which was also delicious. They also had a wide variety of wine. 100% will be back!
Food was no more than average and overpriced to say the least. One guest had chicken parm at 25.00, which was burnt and over cooked. It should have never even left the kitchen. Another had a pork chop for 31.00 which again was over cooked. The waiter rarely paid attention to the table and when he did would reach over the table to serve. Wait staff needs serious training. For a place charging fine dining prices it was a huge disappointment.
We have visited Trama twice and both times Tyler has provided excellent service. Our food was exceptional. The mussels are a must!
We were two couples having dinner here for the first time upon a recommendation of a friend. This is a lovely intimate restaurant with a vast bar and a few Tv's. We were welcomed and brought to our table immediately. Our waiter, Andrew, introduced himself and gave us 5 minutes to get comfortable before taking our drink orders. There was a lovely drink menu with various cocktails and wines. Andrew brought over a platter of tomatoes and mozzarella gratis which was so thoughtful. It was delicious with the basket of crusty bread. About 20 minutes later, we ordered our dinners. Aside from the wonderful menu, there were a couple of specials. We shared a delightful artichoke salad. This was the first we had an artichoke salad and enjoyed it. I'm an adventurous eater and love trying new variations of food as long as they are on the healthy side. There was definitely enough. I had the incredible whole red snapper fish with an interesting side called Fregula - a type of pasta from Sardinia. I loved it. The pork chop was also delicious and very hearty. It was so tender and flavorful but a bit too salty. The fluke prepared francese Style was absolute perfection. My friend did not stop raving about it all the way home in the car. To top off this fabulous meal, we had a magnificent slice of ricotta cheesecake. It was so creamy. So from what we experienced, the food is very high end quality and prepared creatively. Near the end of the service, Laura Trama, the chef's wife came over to our table to chat and introduce herself. She truly appreciated our patronage. The venue unfortunately was very noisy and I was very uncomfortable in my hard chair. But the food and service made our experience worthwhile. We will definitely make a return visit.
I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant after reading about it on social media. It did not disappoint! I can’t wait to go back and I highly recommend it!!!
We had a wonderful evening - it was out first time.
The hostess and bartender were super friendly and very accommodating. Our waiter,Tyler, was very attentive and didn’t rush us and was knowledgeable of their offerings.
It was a Saturday night so it was busy but it didn’t impact our evening at all.
Would definitely recommend and will go back
Celebrated a 50th Birthday. Food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals (party of 8) Service was very good too. We will definitely go back.
Pat Trama has created a wonderful restaurant in Long Branch, NJ The setting is small which I appreciate and the menu offers well prepared food. The restaurant has a full bar.
I've been at Trama's two times and have added it to my listing of restaurants that I eat at regularly. The server is attentive but not overbearing. He remembered my wife and me from the first time we ate there.
The food is extremely well prepared and very tasty. Portion sizes are good, my wife and I brought home what we could not consume.
I cannot say enough about this really good establishment.
One of the more unique dining experiences I’ve had. Such a surprise in the small beach town of Long Branch. Three of us started with the Caesar salad, meatball and artichoke salad. The Caesar was amazing- the dressing had true anchovy taste. Not something I expected since most Caesar dressings just taste creamy and somewhat tangy. But this was such a burst of flavor, you just want more and more. The meatball was another burst of flavor. The meat combinations used were decadent but simple at the same time and went perfectly with the sauce and the creamy polenta. I had the gnocchi... and omg. I was speechless. Usually gnocchi dishes I’ve had in the past are just heavy and have little to no flavor. This was completely the opposite. The gnocchi had a silky texture. The sauce was creamy but not too heavy and it was accompanied by these earthy mushrooms that helped to round out the dish. For dessert, we had the warm chocolate cake with vanilla gelato - superb 👍🏻. The service was just as top notch. Our waiter was Andrew and he does not disappoint. Gives great recommendations and has an answer to all your questions. Plus those water glasses magically stay full- never empty! 😋Definitely a must when you head to Long Branch.
Service was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious! The surroundings were warm and inviting. Not a bad thing to say. Can’t wait to come back again! Thank you so much !
We absolutely LOVED it! Great food....great service.....it was our first time there and we will DEFINITELY be back!
Wow heard about this restaurant so had to try it !!! 5 stars the food is incredible and the service also. Can’t wait to go back
We eat here at least once a week. Today, we wisely chose to spend Easter and my Bday here. We were not disappointed. We ordered the specials, roasted wild mushroom and Ramos with a Parmesan fondue ( yummy ) and the Dover sole with carrot purée and favs beans. My husband loved his fish and he never eats fish. It was spectacular. I can’t recommend Trama highly enough.
Trama never disappoints, Excellent all the time. The staff is always welcoming and the food is out of this world.
Just love this place , food and service are always top notch !
Had an outstanding meal. The mussels were excellent as other reviews indicated and were the way to go for the appetizer. The chicken parmigiana was a huge portion and extras came home for next day lunch. The rigatoni and orichette were also very good.
Trama's never disappoints. Fantastic Italian food and amazing martinis!
The food was no doubt very good. However, we were not impressed by being seated in a small table for party of two by the hostess while other party of two guests were being seated in a big table. Having spent close to $300 a night for dinner, we didn’t feel like the restaurant or specifically the hostess know how to treat their patrons.
Obviously a very well known restaurant. Super busy but the food is worth it!
If you want fine authentic Italian cuisine then this is your spot. This dining experience is worth the drive. Pat Trama takes your palate to another level. The food is just outstanding!
Friendly and enjoyable staff food fresh and delicious
Will be returning
We were here once before and it was a little better than this visit. The Menu is very limited and the portions for the price are certainly not worth it. The staff are like robots with no personality. We ended up not having desert because of the limited desert menu. However, I think our Waiter thought he was funny buy bringing out 1 Raspberry with a Candle in it, we were there for my Husbands Birthday. Quite embarrassing I thought. We will not be returning to this restaurant any longer. I will say the only thing that was good was the Bread. I usually don't write reviews but for the money we spent I felt people needed to know before they go!!!
Our favorite place
Great food, great service. The only issue was the noise. We had a very loud table next to us and a large and loud table behind us. It was impossible for the four of us to talk with each other without shouting. If they could figure out a way to resolve that, I'd give Trama a 5 star rating!
Very good food, very good service, small portions, over-priced
All aspects of Trama's Trattoria were exceptional - the food, the service, the ambience, and the hospitality. We dined at the bar, and had great discussion with Laura and the staff. This great Italian spot will be our on go-to list every week.
A fantastic meal. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing. Lump crab meat special was a delightful new dish in addition to our usual favorites. Lemon curd tart with berries was "bursting with flavor" according to my "chocolate only dessert" husband.
Always consistently amazing food, fresh ingredients and delicious!
Tasty food, amazing carpaccio, great service and atmosphere
I would only recommend this place for take-out because the service and ambiance are horrible! The food is amazing and I give my compliments to the chef but the environment is just another run-down, outdated structure attempting to disguise itself as upscale. Tables are so close together you can hear the people next to you chewing and I had to wear my coat and cover my legs with my husbands coat because it was so cold! As you walk in the door you are greeted by what appears to be 70’s style drapes cascading from an oval shower rod and this is supposed to be the solution to preventing the temperature from dropping below 50 degrees...it doesn’t work and it looks cheap and tacky. Service was slow, steak was over-cooked, and our server disappeared. I won’t be going back to this place and I personally won’t be ordering take-out but I still recommend it for those who haven’t tried the food.
Great vibe and meal... as always
The food was amazing. Quite possibly the best Italian in Monmouth County. The waiter was definitely overwhelmed when we first arrived at 8:15 but more attentive by the end of our meal as the crowds cleared out. Overall a good experience.
Excellent food. Need to work on the noise level.
We had an extremely early reservation so our service was fine our food came out in good time. I wanted to add a fifth person to our party and was told there were no extra chairs in the restaurant, which is fine however two tables of four only had three and the reservations sitting.!Before leaving we went to the bar for a drink left around seven they had a large party walk as a result of lack of attention ! The bar was packed with only one bartender making drinks, serving dinner, doing her best to accommodate everybody with little help! I would recommend this restaurant on a slow evening or early on the weekend!! They were extremely understaffed that night, it’s flu season so not sure if the underline reason. Everyone deserves another try
Friends had recommended and food was as good as they said! Weekday so very quiet but great service!
Food wonderful as usual
I don't know where the regular chef was? The reviews did not at all match the food. My friend is gluten free and since they changed the menu from what was posted online, her choices were limited. Her dinner portion looked like an appetizer. I had the most bizarre chicken parm in my life, a pancake heavily laden with ragu sauce and way too much of everything. I don't mind paying higher prices for food that amazes the palate but sorry, can't ever see why I would return.
Excellent service at the bar
