Good food, nice location, good atmosphere in a busy but not crowded restaurant. The service was very friendly, extremely accommodating and very, very polite - made a big difference.

The restaurant overlooking the Thames is beautiful and romantic. But watch the prices as they add taxes and charges of 12.5% making it an overpriced place.

The thing that I enjoy most about the Trafalgar is the light that come in off the Thames, passing through the large bay windows and flooding the restaurant. Its invigorating, that and the meandering muddy river. The food has always been good here, meat and fish, but being by the river I also go for the fish, and am never disappointed. In my opinion the specialty here is the White Bait, washed down with a pint. The staff are usually very accommodating and helpful too, so I have no complaints. I'm a regular and will continue to be.

After many excellent meals at the Trafalgar Tavern, last Sunday lunchtime was a slight disappointment because it was a bit below par. I have never seen the place so crowded - however our table was ready on time and the service as attentive as ever. However, the meal was a little less excellent than usual. One friend had to send back her French Fries because they were leathery and cold (the replacements were excellent) and the taste of my roast beef was completely overwhelmed by the overpowering strength of the gravy. If we had never eaten at the Trafalgar Tavern before we would have been very happy with the meal that we had there - but we had, so we were a bit disappointed. But it was a very busy day so perhaps they had some excuse.

The great surprise here is the food. Truly great roast beef (medium cooked so not my usual - rare -but still delicious). Wonderful gravy and proper veg. Starter of scallops and black pudding was delicious and worth the 12.50 price. Cheesboard nice size - although mostly jams and spreads with adequate amount of cheese. The pub is in a lovely location and has great views - we got a window table as requested. Negatives Service - nice enough people but at these prices the service should be a LOT better. Our table was a mess of dirty glasses and we had to wait 15 minutes with empty plates and then ask to be cleared Decor - a wonderful building and wonderful history but seriously in need of a nick of paint in several areas. Gents are a disgrace

What a gorgeous setting to have such a lovely meal in. Seated in the restaurant are we had panoramic views of the Thames and the City of London. Food was really scrummy yummy as was the wine. Service was lovely.

The restaurant is in a great location, right next to the Thames. It is split across two rooms and not at all cramped. We were in a party of four and ate three courses each. The tiger prawn starter was off the menu, but the scallop replacement with mini black puddings was fantastic. The whitebait was also very tasty and can be ordered as a starter or main. The loin of pork was a little dry. The fish and chips were average. The Spanish Galleon's (in the town centre) are better. The eton mess and chocolate brownie were both rich and filling. Overall, a nice experience. There was a large engagement party in the adjoining room which perhaps dampened the ambience, but I can imagine it being a nice intimate venue, even on a Saturday night.

I love eating in the Trafalgar's dining room. Even on a grey day, the big windows let in lots of light, and there is always something to see on the river. The food is very good - a broad range of fairly substantial fare, appropriate to the setting, and served by helpful and friendly staff. The prices are typical for an upmarket London pub - not cheap, but the view definitely makes it worth it!
