We had Sunday brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday. Everything from the food to the waitstaff was wonderful ! They even brought out a special birthday plate of delicious treats for the occasion. Truly, a fabulous buffet. We look forward to returning soon.

Mico was a very attentive and accommodating server. I’m pregnant so he suggested the rooibos tea for me and he also had the kitchen crew cook the prime rib to well done. The food was great but they could add guilt-free options for the dessert as well.

We had reservations at 11:00 am for the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was good as expected for a brunch of this type. Be aware, if you are earlier than this time, some of the lunch type items such as the prime rib a may not be available.

The buffet was wonderful… quality and quantity of food perfect for the season. Our waiter was great, as well. We felt well cared for. The deduction we would make is ambiance. A bit lower lighting and perhaps playing some Christmas music would have made this experience a 5 star.

Brunch was very nice but compared to years ago, where is the donut making machine? Mimosa and bloody Mary so expensive. There used to be so many outstanding baked goods.

Unfortunately, the poor quality of the food was the overall disappointment. Well, and the response of the manager to my inquiries about gluten free options. (He also booked it out of the restaurant right at closing, leaving the rest of the staff to clean up.) The buffet consisted of some over-seasoned shrimp, a sad fruit salad, low quality sausage patties, some decent salads, some scrambled eggs, completely burned pieces of fried chicken (at least that’s what I thought it was), and a few really unimpressive desserts. There was no color, except the salads, other than brown. When I asked about gluten free bread items that were indicated on the menu, I was shown the “gluten free station” which consisted of some pre-packaged blueberry muffins (sad looking) and several slices of gf bread and a toaster that was tucked in a corner that I missed it in my first perusal of the buffet. The prime rib station sat empty for about 15 minutes until more was “cooked?” Unfortunately, when it came out it too was brown, and dry. No au jus or anything. The saving grace was the omelet station, albeit manned by a young man who couldn’t even make conversation-the omelet was delicious! Our waiter was exceptional and personable. He saved the experience! All in all not anywhere near worth the $39.99 a head that we paid!

My reservation was for “lunch”, but the only offering at 1 pm was a buffet brunch. The food was mediocre, and the star offering (prime rib) ran out before we could get any. Despite promises of more to come, it never appeared during the 80 minutes we were there. The server meant well, I believe, but taking our drink order even before our coats were taken off and we were seated was a bit odd. The brunch was priced at $40 - definitely steep! We have eaten at the Lodge before. This visit was a complete disappointment. We won’t be eating there again.

We were disappointed in the quality of the food at the Sunday brunch. We ate late, and that might have accounted for some of the quality, but it shouldn't have. Our servers were great, but overall, we paid way too much for a meal that was very disappointing. We paid almost $17 for a 5 year old who ate one small cupcake. There was very little on the menu that appeals to a child. The shrimp was so overcooked that it was nearly impossible to peel. And the prime rib was some of the worst I have ever eaten in a restaurant. We ate at Traditions on a previous trip to Williamsburg three years ago, and I don't remember the food being so disappointing then.

Disappointed for the price for the Sunday Brunch. The omelettes and prime rib were great, but the fried chicken should not have been served. Both times chicken was placed on the line, it was burnt. A better price would have been 29.95

Thanksgiving dinner buffet, reservation for 6:30pm, seatings were from 4pm to 8pm. By time of our arrival, mobjack seasoned shrimp were gone. I noticed additional platters less than half full and not appearing to be replaced. I didn’t want my family holiday to have me complaining but instead I simply chatted with the head kitchen manager. He listened and addressed my concern with exactly the right humor and information. Platters were soon to be replenished; however, shrimp would not be as they had mistakenly under estimated their popularity. Replaced with smoked salmon (yuck imho). Dessert on Thanksgiving is a big deal…. after I day back down, he approached and shared conspiratorially his success at adding more choices. The food was delicious, his service fantastic and Aretha was an absolute joy as a server. Overall wonderful and i look forward to many more years here!

What a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving dinner away from home. We've dined at Traditions 3-4 times during the holidays and they've never disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable while it's easy to carry on conversations. Food is served buffet style, never sits too long and is always excellent. Non-alcoholic drinks are included. Staff are very attentive and ready to answer any questions right away. Many thanks to all the staff working during the holiday, we appreciate them being there for us. My only suggestion is for another vegetable option or two. Being located just off the main Colonial Williamsburg street, it's a wonderful way to walk off some of the delicious dinner. We plan to visit again and you should too.

Food was only average. Not what I would expect for the price. The buffet was being cleared before the breakfast time was over to set up for brunch. The lady beside me picked up the cover on a dish that was turned backwards (probably for the brunch) and someone from the kitchen came out and slammed it shut. I was horrified!

I came with a group of seven and we had the brunch buffet. The food was excellent. They kept the options fresh and hot (or cold depending on the dish), and continually made sure it was well stocked. The service was fast and accommodating. Nemanja was our server and he constantly kept our drinks filled, made great recommendations for our family, and was extremely helpful. Overall a wonderful brunch to fill us up, we loved it and recommended it to everyone!

The quality of food at the bunch was very low. I expected much more from the Lodge. We knew it was a buffet; however, I am not a foodie and I could barely eat it. This was my selection: Shrimp: I could not peel it. Literally could not get the peel off without tearing the entire shrimp, which was then not eatable. Bacon: Great Fried Chicken and Biscuit: Chicken was very breaded and not white meat. Biscuit was too small to be fluffy. It was hard. Biscuit Gravy: Did not have a good flavor. Frittata: Very dry French Toast: Good Salad: Loaded with too much dressing Chicken Wild Rice Soup: Great best thing we ate. Dessert: Bite Size Only but were fine. Nothing Great but 2nd best thing I ate. I have never written a negative review in my 52 years. I am a local and had heard it was a good brunch. My husband and I decided on that for our anniversary. We were both so disappointed. We will give the Inn a try for their brunch but will never be back to the Lodge for any dining.

So disappointing because it was not the great brunch from before with omelettes and donuts made to order, and was not in a beautiful dining room but in an ordinary room with no ambiance or light. And with all those changes, the price was much too high.
