Trading Post NYC
A great spot with great food
Family get together for us. Both the service level and the food quality was outstanding. We had a party of six and we were very comfortable and the ambiance was perfect.
Very limited options for lunch. Almost same kind of taste in every dish.
The food is out of this world. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
Wonderful service and very good food.
Adam was our waiter and gave us exceptional service!!!
Will definitely return again and again!
Waiter was amazing and remembered all the specials!
Fantastic food , service and ambiance just avoid the fried pickles.
Excellent service, the food was amazing, and they were nice enough to put us in a quiet corner to accommodate by father’s hearing. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!!
Awesome brunch, best we’ve had in fidi/seaport. Food, service and the bottomless drinks were great as well. Highly recommended!!
Service was unimpressive (it was actually genuinely bad). Waitress wasn't attentive, when she did attend to my table (which was not often at all-- we had to get the attention of a different waitress at one point), she made my party feel rushed.
The day after I went, I received an email from OpenTable asking me to explain why I missed my reservation at Trading Post-- which did not make any sense, because not only was I there on time, but I stayed for 2 hours to finish out my meal. Not sure if the confusion was because of her. (I wouldn't be surprised.)
I did, however, have a great time while I was there for brunch. It was a wonderful time with my two friends. The food was great and I enjoyed the company.
The kale salad was fine. The chicken they put on top was literally rubber. What a turn off to think I was eating a chicken that was so abused.
They even gave us a complimentary dessert for my birthday!
Great— was perfect ambiance and noise level
Food is not good. Everything else about it was great.
Thank you for the wonderful table selection!
Food was good but very salty.
Everything was perfect. We sat in the upstairs dining room on Friday night, it was not loud and the service was brilliant. I think Jesse was our server, he was great. We will definitely be returning.
Such great hospitality. Food was amazing and best value I've seen in lower Manhattan since I moved here a few months ago. The waitress was so nice and gave us free desert for the extra wait when we didn't even feel it at all. We will be back again!
Nice dark, rich decor. It can be a quiet place or noisy depending on the night and where you are seated. But good for a date and groups. They also have downstairs lounge.
I love the place ane the staff is great too!
I became e regular
Excellent service and superior food. Finest fare in the Seaport
very limited menu for non meat eaters ... the chicken on the CLT was like leather and then the bread was so thick that it was impossible to eat like a sandwich ... not a family friendly place menu is very limited for lunch.
Loved this place! So cozy inside, and the staff was so warm and welcoming. The food was great. Ate in the bar area and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch!
Cocktails are great, food was good, service could have been better asked for ketchup and it took 20 mins and there were only maybe 4 tables with people in the whole restaurant
Requested table held for us, quieter side room cosy, away from bar noise. Very good food and service, a nice meal overall.
Great find in the FiDi area of NYC! My husband and I were in town for a business trip and wanted to take our 30 year old nephew out to dinner for his birthday in a location near his office in a place that he would enjoy. We booked restaurant seating which was crowded at 7:30pm but the upper and lower bar areas seemed to be crowded as well. The service was great. The menu has something for everyone and every dish we tried was a great value for the price. The entire establishment was vibrant on a Tuesday evening. It seemed to have a good bar crowd but also a good dining crowd. I think the vibe fit the 30 year old as well as the 50 something year olds. Try it if you are in FiDi!
This experience was frustrating. When I arrived at the restaurant (as a single party) with an Open Table reservation the manager (self-identified) noted the reservation and had me seated at the table. Later during the meal I received a notification from Open Table that the restaurant reported that I didn't show for the reservation. Food was average and service varied - one great waiter and several not-so-good waitresses (they must use a team approach). Also very pricey. When I left I confronted the manager about the reservation not being acknowledged. He stammered a bit and stated that "oh yeah, that happened. I don't know how to fix that. Do you know how?" I left with the impression that the oversight was purposeful/dishonest. I assume restaurants must provide some fee to Open Table when a reservation is booked and completed. There are a lot of places to eat in NYC. Be wary and choose carefully.
Nicely done. Solid service, would return, food was good, fresh, accommodating on food preparation.
SItted in an alcove which was quiet so we could have a detailed business discussion
Food was very good. Brussels sprouts side dish was great. Service was friendly, but slow. Since we weren't in a hurry it wasn't a major problem.
I live in the area and always walk by Trading Post, but never thought to pop in and eat. Glad I did -- had a really good experience. We sat in the upstairs dining room and service was top notch.
“ The Trading Post” is a unique dining experience.
It is housed in a chandlery, a warehouse that provided goods for sailors, of the 1800’s.
The original walls still stand.
The place is cosy, and magnificent
The four of us, from Long Island, and Staten Island, always choose this restaurant to celebrate important milestones, such as our anniversaries, and birthdays.
It is worth the trip.
We were seated in a very comfortable, quiet nook, that provided us much privacy.
The conversations around us were at a comfortable noise level.
The food was spectacular.
I had the mouth - watering barley and mushroom risotto, and my husband enjoyed his Scottish salmon dish.
We had scrumptious pumpkin fritters, as the appetizer, for the table.
All restaurants should have such an attentive waiting staff, as served us.
The servers continually questioned us about our contentment with the dishes.
Our dessert was the incomparable apple crumble, with ice cream.
Our friends had the pumpkin brûlée. They said that it was sublime.
We chatted, leisurely, unrushed, feeling that we were in another world, a beautiful home away from home.
We shall be back!
Thank you, “The Trading Post” staff, for once again making it “ a lovely place to spend the evening”.
Great for brunch!
Had looked at menus and reviews, and thought it would be good for brunch. Menus on line alot more extensive than the brunch menu we were offered. While the food was okay, there was no wow factor in any of the 6 menu items our table ordered. I would not return.
Amazing service, great atmosphere. Great food better drinks
Nice vibe maybe but food is WAY overpriced for what it is- high end bar food. The salmon poke was sweet - I prefer a more vinegar based poke and the chop chop salad was also sweet (pineapples abound)- just not my thing. If your looking for Asian accented food that has sugar and is sweet- the food is up your alley. Plus my cocktail - an old fashion was $17- that’s ridiculous. The whole place is WAY overpriced.
The Trading Post offers a multi level dining experience. First level is vibrant with a bar scene. Second level is quiet, quaint and comfy. Perfect for a multi generational family gathering with older people who cannot hear well. This type of environment is extremely difficult to find in the city. We had a fabulous dining experience with one of the best servers we have had in the city. Siobhan was very friendly, attentive, witty and provided fabulous service. I highly recommend TP!!
Great neighborhood go to!
Excellent environment and location
We tried most everything on the small plate menu: oysters on the half shell and fried with an amazing bourbon aioli, sautéed squash blossoms, baby back ribs and corn fritters. All were outstanding. Our waiter Kevin was helpful with wine suggestions, also friendly and attentive. We can’t wait for our next visit.
