Beyond excellent food and beverages! Amazing service and outstanding server! Fantastic atmosphere and can’t wait to return again! Very highly recommended!
Great drinks. Best Mai Thai this side of Hawaii.
Food choices limited since pandemic but something for everyone in my party. Everything we ordered tasted great.
The cost of our meal was not worth the quality of food we received. Next time we will skip the dining and just have cocktails.
Food was delicious, service was superior. We would love to hear some island music. Wish there was a place in the Bay Area with a Polynesian dinner show.
Missed being able to dine at this site...it has been too long!
Enjoyed our afternoon reservation. Spring rolls, and shrimp. excellent. Traditional Trader Vic's salad. Tried the Crab/artichoke sandwich.
Traditional Mai Tai, and Mai tai with dark rum float. Both quite acceptable. (over the moon. I don't make these at home.)
Excellent service from Deidre (hope I spelled it correctly). Very gracious and friendly server. Hope we will be lucky enough to see her again. Made our experience great!
Great drinks, great food, nice view of the marina.
Fun atmosphere, staff was friendly, always a good time.
My husband heard about this restaurant from his colleague so we made reservations to try it out. The ambiance was great, immediately greeted by the host and seated with no wait. We sat by the glass view of the marina which was lovely. I had the salmon sliders and he has the all-in fried rice. The Mai Tai's were delicious. The manager Muishun was amazing, made sure we were taken care of and added a great layer of personable service. Because of her, we'll absolutely be back. I may have spelled her name wrong but she made everything right.
Trader Vic’s service was first class, the food was great and the drinks were a pleasure as always.
Had a really nice lunch yesterday to celebrate some belated birthdays. Festive as always with Mai Tai’s and the appetizer platter.
It's a fun change of pace. The variety of the menu has been reduced but the remaining choices are still tasty. I wish they would start up their smokers and put real smoked meats on the menu, however the cocktails are as good as ever.
Bring back the old menu. More like an upscale sports bar with no TV’s.
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious!
We love the ambience, decor, and the drinks!
Our favorite restaurant. Everyone needs an escape from everyday life, especially after this last year. This is the place. Enjoy a sophisticated island experience with tasty food and drinks.
Our first time eating here since Covid. Trader Vic's has really maintained its great food, service and atmosphere. My husband, 11 year old son and myself loved the food - which says a lot because someone is usually disappointed with something. We had the chili coconut wing appetizers which was perfect for 3 us (2 pcs ea). My husband and I both had the Beef and my son had the chicken tenders and fries, which he loved (typical kiddo). We shared the banana bread pudding ala mode which had a nice brandy sauce which just hit the spot. Overall very happy. Definitely make reservations as they are usually booked on weekends.
Great experience as always ! Amazing staff and wonderful hospitality ❣️❣️❣️ So happy to see everybody again ❣️❣️❣️🙏👍👏
Fun place with great customer service. Food is a bit meh.
Loved it and they have great options for kids too.
Saturday 3pm reservations. Entry sign said wait to be seated. Numerous staff (including hostess) went by and said they'd be right with us. About 10 minutes later hostess seated us in dark corner of nearly empty dining room that has views of San Francisco. We asked for a change of seating to get the views and she reluctantly moved us to a window table but said we'd have to vacate table at 5:15 because it was reserved (???). Another 10 minutes went by before a server asked about drinks which we ordered. About 5 minutes later a different server came by to take our order which was appetizer Maui Waui Shrimp ($15.) (coconut encrusted shrimp with katsu slaw, chili lime aioli), and entrees Hawaiian Pork Stir Fry ($21.) (Twice cooked pork medallions with pineapple, peppers , red onion, sweet & sour sauce), and Beef & Reef ($29.) (Wok'd beef tenderloin, prawns, bell pepper, red onion, oyster sauce, served over rice). Server didn't write down our order. About 5 minutes later a different staff delivered our drinks and our order server came by to confirm our order which he said he forgot (sorry about that....). About 10 minutes later yet another server delivered our entrees. The twice cooked pork stir fry was actually 80% fat pork belly which contained less then 1 ounce of meat, and the Wok'd beef tenderloin was actually four dime sized pieces of extremely well done meat and three small shrimp. Order server came by at ask about our meal and we inquired about the missing appetizer (more apologies). As our entrees were being finished yet another staff delivered our appetizer which was six small (non-coconut) breaded shrimp barely covered by a sweet aioli and a very sorry looking dried out slaw. Dinner and drink bill $90. Thirty years of patronizing a local icon came to an end yesterday. Sigh....
Stopped at Trader Vics (another checked off) for lunch on the way into town. The food is great and the tiki cocktails, even better!
Great food, as always. Took us about 25 minutes to be seated even after booking a reservation. Service was very ok. I'll be back again and keep my fingers crossed service is better.
It was great to be back at Trader Vics and sip that mai tai! Our server, Deidra was outstanding especially given the number of tables she was working. We are hoping some of our favorite menu items will be back at some point. Until then we will probably stop by for a mai tai, tidbits and a salad.
I specifically stated in the comments of the online reservation that it was my daughters 21st birthday celebration but it was not acknowledged at all (no cake/dessert with candle, no singing, no comment at all) very disappointing.
Crab Rangoon appetizer.
Crab melt sandwich with a small Caesar Salad.
All was excelelnt. I'll be back!
Always love Trader Vic’s! Another great visit with wonderful food and service.
I love Trader Vic's. It's a perfect spot for drinks and special occasions. Not only are the Mai Tais out of this world, but they also offer many other Tiki-style cocktails that go down so easily. With that in mind, be careful not to drink too many. I had two Mai Tais and am feeling it today! No regrets though because we had a beautiful time. I also recommend the burger which had a really nice spicy kick. Finally, the bay views make the meal and drink prices well worth it.
We had a great time. I love the tiki decor, it's very nicely done. The service was excellent. I liked my tuna poke bowl and my daughter seemed to like her dish very much. My sister did not like her duck banh mi-said it just tasted like fried, not particularly like duck, and the bun was not a banh mi bun. The fries that came with it were very crispy and good. The pupu platter appetizer was tasty and the drinks really pack a punch! Also, there are gorgeous views of the bay.
So happy Trader Vics survived the pandemic! The food is still excellent and the Mai Tai’s are the best.
I've always loved going to Trader Vic's because I love anything tiki/tropical and the food has always been very good. Our server was quite slow and didn't check on us. After what seemed like a long wait at our table with just one drink each, we had to flag him down to get him to finally take our appetizer order. Then when were were just about done with the appetizers, we had to flag him down again to place our entree order. While he was friendly, we felt he was either really slow, or maybe too busy. Although, the restaurant didn't look super busy at the time. Overall, yes, I'll dine here again, not for the service, but for the ambiance, the view and the food.
Perfect in every way.
Always a special pleasure to eat at Trader Vic's, especially when you can do so while watching the sunset over the bay. Food, drinks, ambiance, and the staff are all amazing! I am looking forward to them getting their full menu back, but even the temporary menu is full of delicious things!
Took my mom there for a birthday dinner and had a great time! The decor was great and everyone was very friendly, including our server who worked a long shift that day. My mom absolutely loved her steak and said it was the best she had ever tasted. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion dinner.
We went to Trader Vic's for dinner with some trepidation, expecting the vegetarian entrees to be lacking. But we were delightfully surprised. All-in-all, a great experience.
Great! It was warm when we arrived and we had multiple servers but food was great and mai tai wonderful.
Inside is like visiting a museum of the South Pacific arts!
And outside are spectacular views of the boats, the hills, the bay.
The drinks menu is good for giggles, and the drinks are delicious.
First time in town and have never been to any of the Vic’s locations. I’m by myself and no issue getting an appetizer and first drink ordered. They then leave me alone for 45 minutes and have to flag somebody down to get any kind of service. They were a little better after but the bah mi was meh and at that point I was over it. Bought two cool mugs, but that was about it for highlights.
There are better tiki bars all over the bay, no need to stop here for anything outside the nostalgia and history.
Tasty food and drinks! Very inviting staff. I prefer not having Valet Parking! It always seemed very unnecessary.
