I'm normally a big Trader Vic's fan, but not tonight. There were very few tables sat at opening. I was the second table sat in one area and they sat tables afterwards in other areas. The table across from me made it unbearable due to their topics of conversation. From another area I could hear a couple small children screaming. I finally asked my waiter if I could move and he easily obliged and carried my food to the bar. While that is out of their control, compared to pre-pandemic the food was AWFUL. The crab rangoon was off and a little fishy. Plus it was served with BBQ sauce and something mayo based? What happened to sweet & sour sauce? Who puts BBQ sauce on crab? I also ordered the grilled sake hanger steak. No bok choy (or at least what was on my plate didn't look like it and didn't look appetizing), the extremely thin steak was hacked in pieces and an overly sweet teriyaki style sayce, and the rice was plain. It was extremely obvious the wood-fired ovens weren't being used as advertised on their website, compared to the past. I never saw anyone go into the oven area from the dining room. Based on the food tonight, I might go back for drinks, but I'd never be back for food. The waiter and the bartender were amazing.
More fresh food variety would be nice. The menu is on the junky side. Everything else is nicely done with the tropical tiki feel. Would be good for big parties or birthday style celebrations.
It was a little confusing finding the parking for the hotel and finding the entrance once we were inside. Once we arrived at the restaurant all was well. We loved our food and the service was phenomenal. Don't skip out on the pineapple upsidedown cake, it is totally worth it!
What a shame! A storied icon of the past has let itself go to ruin.
At my last visit some years ago I was very pleased to find the food at the Atlanta location (especially the rack of lamb) and service on par with other semi-famous Trader Vics scattered around the country (like Washington, DC). Sadly, the chain has apparently given up on America (now down to 3 locations) and is instead milking the Middle East for its continued existence. After tonight’s experience it’s easy to see why the Atlanta location could well be the next to pass into history. In short, we were sorry we went through the trouble to drive downtown for date night.
The restaurant was not busy but the service was poor: the drinks took 25 minutes after we were seated and the entrees took over an hour. Food was lower quality and not well prepared: rack of lamb was a bit tough and fatty and literally swimming in a too hot pepper sauce. The noodles that accompanied were them over cooked and crackly dry in spots. The fried rice was over-cooked and came out cool. The only bright spots were the Mai Tais, the homemade peanut butter and validated parking. The lack of hand soap in the ladies room only underscored how little attention is being paid to the details that make a difference.
So sad! The manager kindly tried to salvage the occasion but it’s clear that he also sees the writing on the wall. We won’t be going back until the post-closing clearance sale, and then only to buy some of the cooler decorative pieces.
First time and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our experience….we really went for the drinks but food was exceptional! Beef teriyaki with vegetables and a side of Hawaiian fried rice. Mai tai & Rusky tai were stout & all that we wanted. We will definitely return as service was also fantastic and that has been hard to find lately.
Loved the ambiance and such a fun and delicious drink menu! They weren’t doing their famous bananas foster bc of Covid which I didn’t really get? Our server was good. Would definitely go back!
We came back a 2nd night because not only was the food excellent, but most importantly the noise leaves was very low and we were able to have long conversations.

Don't know if it was language problem or confusion but my friend ordered rack of lamb rare. I ordered the same med rare. Mine was perfect, hers was well done🤔. We also added a dinner salad to share with my husband and she ordered same to share with her husband. We only got 1 salad. The waiter was very nice, offered to fix everything but we were on a schedule. Maybe he was new
Service was a little slow, but to be fair it seemed to be very busy at the time. The drinks were delicious, and the Kung Pao chicken was spicy and sooo tasty!
Mai Tais we’re very good. Food was ok, nothing special.

I ordered the fried rice. Too salty. I suggest using a lesser sodium soy sauce. Because when you add soy sauce to it is entirely too salty. My friend ordered the calamari. There was no chew to it. It was dry cooked way too much. Overly cooked we sent it back. All in all the ambience is fine I need to fine-tune some things with regards to salt and overcooking. The staff is great.
Very great customer service and ambiance. They will give you a parking voucher which is really nice. Be sure to ask people around for directions , it can be a bit hard to locate with GPS alone.
The food along with the atmosphere was GREAT!!! The best Mai Tai I’ve ever had.
I’ve dined here several times. Good and drink were great. Menu was missing some items I’ve had before such as lobster. The clay ovens didn’t seemed to be used to prepare any food. Hopefully this is a temporary Covid and supply chain issue that will change and things go back to pre-Covid status.
My burger was burnt along with my rice that I ordered. I asked for mayonnaise mustard and pickles for my burger and they could not provide it when the food came out. If you're a restaurant and you have a burger on your menu you need to also make sure you have toppings. The rice was burnt and also tasted burnt was really gross and not edible. The only thing I gave them a star for was the spring rolls and the wings that were pretty good service was subpar and the lighting was too dark inside restaurant
An otherwise pleasant experience was marred by an extremely loud band.
Good night, not extremely busy for a Sat night. Somewhat of a limited menu, drinks were fantastic, the decor was perfect.
Seated quickly, waited on immediately. Drink order was done quickly, order taken and appetizers was out in a timely manner. Shared for two, plenty to eat and very good. Main course was very good, lots of food in the portion. Waiter stayed on top of keeping water glasses full and was not a bother during the meal. Check brought out quickly when asked. Solid "A" grade.
COVID menu is limited. Without Bananas Foster, just isn’t the same.
Dry atmosphere and dry food selection.
I finally know why Trader Vic's has been an Atlanta Institution for so long. The food is quite delicious (if a bit pricey). The kitschy decor is super fun, and the service was quite good.
Freezing in the restaurant. Seated us way in the back. Food was ok, drinks were ok. Need wine list.
Hubby n myself celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary @ Trader Vic the food and everything was fabulous!!

COVID has really put a damper on this place. Severely cut menu and high prices comparatively speaking. Place was dead.
Trader Vic’s is the best place I’ve been to in Atlanta. Maybe anywhere! The decor and ambience cannot be beat. Service was excellent.
This restaurant truly embodies the Tiki spirit, and seems a bit out of place in Atlanta. With low ceilings, labyrinthine teaky corridors, dim light, and two huge burning kilns in the middle of the place, Trader Vic’s transports you to an Indonesian island while in the heart of a land-locked city.
Great little hidden restaurant! Decor is incredible, and service, drinks, and food were all great! Only issues were the entrees were a bit pricy, and theres a huge lack of vegetarian options (casually just two salads and one appetizer). But otherwise great!
This is a classic tiki bar, if you have never had a real mai tai you haven't lived.

Trader Vic’s is a nice dinner option if you are staying at the Hilton Atlanta. It’s located within so you don’t have to travel around the city. The food was fairly good and unique. The Venue is cozy and themed which adds to the comfort level.

Shining gold stars for M and S, your very professional and friendly bartenders. They are a super asset to your business. Shining star drink: Mai Tai…can’t be duplicated anywhere but at Trader Vic restaurants (believe me we’ve tried!) Shining star food: the fried rice entree dish…oh yum!
