Angie was an amazing server who absolutely made our night. We will be back again because of her. The food and drinks were delicious and we had a great time.
It was my friends birthday and it wasn’t mentioned :( the chicken strays was a bit undercooked. The drinks were great. The lamb was a bit over priced. Overall great atmosphere. 3 out of 5:
Passing through Atlanta and we stayed at this hotel, the Hilton Atlanta, just so we could go to Trader Vic's without leaving the hotel. The hotel disappointed but Trader Vic's did not. It's hard to find polynesian restaurants these days and if you love this food, you shouldn't pass up the opportunity to go to one of the last vestiges of this cuisine and style. The volcano shrimp were right on the mark and my wife's filet was tasty and massive. The apps were good and where else can you get the original mai tai.
The service was great. The appetizer and desert were okay, but the salmon entree was terrible. For the price, this place is NOT worth the visit.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. We went there because we were staying at the Hilton, and plan on going back, it was our favorite
Was looking forward to a great experience. One server for at least 30 people. Older woman was actually running table to table. It took almost two hours before food came. Need to hire more staff as a lot of groups come here. The food was very underwhelming.
We had the most wonderful dining experience at Trader Vic’s. The kind, friendly, and knowledgeable staff were attentive, and the food was exceptional. The ambiance is unbeatable. I highly recommend this hidden gem! You won’t regret it!
We really wanted this to be great as I have been to other TV 20+ years ago. Unfortunately it was fair at best, the service was very poor with a bit of and attitude from our lady server. We were a table of 5 and appetizers came cold and she argued that the food was not meant to be hot???? We got it replaced , main items arrived hot but really nothing special. The Mai Thai drinks also nothing great, very fruity with little alcohol. Sadly this falls under the 1 AND DONE RULE. Plenty of better places in Atlanta.
My husband and I had a reservation at 6:30pm before a Saturday concert. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, however the maitre’d sat us against the wall, sharing the same booth seats, with a loud obnoxious family of four with two school-age children. The children were climbing all over the seats, the parents were taking pictures of the children standing on the table licking plates, they played music on their phone during the dinner, and it just got worse. We were almost sitting connected to their table with about a foot of space, and seated on the same bench seat. There were at least 8 other tables for two available (we counted) that we could see. The food was mediocre and plastic tasting. We ate fast and left. We will not be going back.
Food was very good. Service was slightly slow and at times inattentive but the food and feeling inside the restaurant made up for it.
An overall pleasant experience.
Excellent food and service
Rena was the greatest! Loved the ambiance and Trader Vic’s is the only time I drink rum!
Excellent food and drink,
Not a great experience
We first went to Trader Vic’s around 2014 and had a wonderful romantic dinner. We returned last Saturday. The food was amazing as we remembered, however the drinks were horrible. First, the Coca Cola was flat, so the waitress had to get one from a can. Then we ordered 3 different cocktails, all of which tasted horrible. One guavatai, the scorpion & some peach cocktail. Other than the drinks, the ambiance was great and so was the service.
My party and I really loved the food and the server was very attentive. The Peachtree Punch was awesome. If you're looking for a new experience and food different from traditional cuisine try Trader Vic's.
We had wonderful service and wonderful food. The only thing that wasn’t superb was the Mai Tai Creme Brûlée. I had never tasted such weird Creme Brûlée. It is supposed to be a custard type dessert. I can’t really describe the consist, but it was pretty bad. Not to mention the serving size was about an 1/8 of a cup!
Waitress was rude and only came to the table when she absolutely had to. We went for a birthday dinner & she did not even say happy birthday when we mentioned it. She said “good for you”
This is my go-to place for a casual night out with friends. I love this place.
Our party of three couples put on our loudest Hawaiian shirts and headed to Trader Vic's. This retro theme restaurant was a first for all of us and while I expected fun drinks and atmosphere, I set the food bar quality bar low. I could not have been more wrong. The apps, drinks, and main courses were fantastic. The steaks and seafood were cooked perfectly and the portions were huge. And there are not many places left where you can get bananas foster cooked table side. The service was outstanding and well paced clocking in at three hours. All in all an evening well spent and we'll definitely be going back.
Felt the dinner that I chose was over priced. It was a rice bowl with chicken which was rubbery and cost me $26.00 before tax and tip. The peanut butter mixture served with bread was tasty and waitress was very personable.
Trader Vic's has been my favorite restaurant whenever I'm in Atlanta for work. When we arrived, there was a party of 4 sitting at the opposite end of our area & a single guest seated at a table behind us. We were pleased to be seated right away & looking forward to our meal.
While we waited for our drinks & appetizers to arrive, the party of 4 became extremely loud (they were swearing loudly). They complained about their food to each other & their server. Within a few moments, they started to use the "n" word VERY LOUDLY. It was shocking & disturbing to my party. Around the time their behavior became totally inappropriate, a party of 2 was seated next to our table.
Moments later, we noticed the manager was speaking with the party of 4. We could overhear bits of what they were saying to him. At one point, they were laughing & we thought, well he must have smoothed things over. We were wrong & the use of the "n" word continued, along with the swearing.
I decided to approach the hostess to request to speak with the manager. This was the first time my co-workers were eating at Trader Vic's. I was embarrassed & disappointed to put it mildly. The hostess informed me that they cannot control the behavior of their guests. She said the manager was aware & handling the situation with the guests. I returned to my seat & was now very upset.
Shortly after that, the loud group of 4 left. Immediately after they left, the manager appeared at the table next to us to apologize to the party of 2. He walked away without apologizing to my table. So we requested to speak with the manager- we felt we were also owed an apology & I wanted to let him know what his hostess told me. Well it turns out the manager said word for word that they could not control their guest's behavior. He didn't apologize & instead told us our dessert was free.
We love their food, but this experience and the response we received from staff was unacceptable.
Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. Food was ok but overpriced. I will go back for drinks but not for dinner. A good classic tiki bar!
I love this place...Great drinks, great food, amazing atmosphere.
Had a 12 person dinner after a conference. Great food, lots of fun and perfect setting.
Traveled to Atlanta just to go to Trader Vic's. Worth the trip. Cannot wait to
go back again.
Was great food but somewhat slow service. But would go back again.
Wood fired menu is Fantastic.
Mai tais of course. Plus superior bar menu
A great place to eat, with very attentive service. I am a repeat customer whenever I visit Atlanta since the late 1980s.
Enjoyed the stroll down memory lane, as I often went to TV in NYC. NICE Scorpion, great apps. Fantastic service a
Trade Vic’s is unique and the drinks are beautifully presented. The food was not good. The chicken satay had zero flavor, the bacon around large scallops was soggy, fatty, and lifeless, the grilled chicken was dry and tough. The best part of the meal was the fried rice and Caesar salad, both of which can be enjoyed anywhere for less money. Two non alcoholic drinks were watery and had limited flavor. I’m a positive reviewer most times, but nine of our five meals were memorable or worth the wait or money. We were at Trader Vic’s for our daughter’s 23rd birthday. I wish this review was more positive.
Nothing special food overpriced and nothing special about the preparation of the dishes. Pretty much upscale bar food served at a hotel
Food, staff, and the environment was great. They even took care of parking. Awesome...
If you're in downtown Atlanta, spending some time at this iconic restaurant is a must do. The menu offers up amazing pan-Asian selections, the cocktail menu can't be beat, and the ambience is what you expect. Over all, it's a great place to get a great meal.
The food was good, but you clearly come for the cocktails and ambience. We had the classic Mai Tai, zombie, fog cutter and scorpion all were fantastic, my personal favorite was the zombie, very tropical feeling we finished the night with a classic, the banana's foster and it was really good.
An absolute pleasure, as always! Ki is incredible!
Took a couple of friends to dine at this historical venue. The decor is truly amazing and worth an hour or so to check it out. The bar area had a good Friday night vibe, not too crowded or loud, though we didn't stay there. The area we were seated was quite dim (hard to read the menu) and felt a bit derelict, though it was nice to have no trouble hearing our conversation. And there was plenty of time for that; drinks arrived quickly, though there was a slight mix-up in the order, but food took nearly two hours. I know they have the whole wood-fired oven thing going on, but still it seemed extraordinary to us. Fortunately when it did arrive it was excellent ; lamb, beef, scallops, prawns, everyone was impressed, and we had plenty to talk about so the wait wasn't a problem for us. Ironically we got the impression our server was in a hurry for us to leave, so we didn't stay for dessert but walked around checking out the decor, chatting with the manager (who has a wealth of information). Aside from the bar area it seemed a bit sad, can't quite put my finger on it. I wouldn't want the amazing interior to go but it seems like it needs something to refresh and rejuvenate.
There were three times during the meal that we both knew the service had passed the tolerable limit. Our waitress was charming and hard-working but with too many tables to manage. They were out of lo mein for my dish and it was only 6:30! Our second drink arrived when we were almost finished with dinner. The drinks were very weak and boring.
Always a worth-while experience when visiting Atlanta during DragonCon, was very happy to be able to share good food and good drinks with friends for our celebration of new love and fandom. Thanks to the staff for being friendly and on top of things with how busy it was! See you next year!
