The staff is very attentive. The food is delicious and the drinks are creative.
We had lunch, nothing special, just a chopped salad with crab meat. The service was good until it came time to pay, then the server disappeared for a while causing other members of my group to be late for a conference event at the same hotel. The food was okay, but it was just salad nothing special.
The Eastern Shore TradeMac & Cheese , with huge chunks of lobster and the Baby Field Greens Salad with fennel and radish with champagne vinaigrette were delicious. Also the White Ginger Pear Tea was beautifully presented, and extremely flavorful and fragrant to drink.
Great location, service, and food! Perfect spot for a casual get together around great food without leaving a hole in your wallet.

Trademark is good at what it does, but not outstanding at anything. It has a pub style setting, drawing largely a young adult crowd plus hotel guests. (It’s in a Westin Hotel.) It boasts a long, large bar. The serving staff are efficient and welcoming. Entree offerings are limited to 5 or 6 and change infrequently. There is nothing imaginative about the menu. I question whether there is an actual, credentialed chef on board preparing food as it is ordered as opposed to being cooked earlier and zapped in a microwave just before serving. The draft beer choices are good. The noise level was moderate during our last visit, but the bar area can be very noisy. Bottom line: I see Trademark as a reasonable choice for guests of the hotel and others for whom it offers convenience. However, Alexandria has a lot of dining choices, some of which I would rate more highly in value and quality.
One of the servers, Senait, is the Cal Ripken of the establishment. She has been working there since the hotel opened in November 2007 and is the only person in the entire hotel who has worked there for so long.
Had the Restaurant Week menu. Everything was outstanding and I left stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turkey. Great deal with wine pairings an additional $10. Unlike hotel restaurants of the past, this one is better than normal -- not five-star, but very good.
The food was really good. The Mediterranean shrimp appetizer was good, the best part was the roasted tomatoes. For entrees, my fiance got the pork chop that was cooked to perfection. The sauce was so good, he used his bread to lap up the rest. I got the bass, which was a little dry, however, I did like the pairing with the jalapeno cream sauce. The risotto underneath was rich and satiating, everything you want a risotto to be. For dessert, the caramel macchiato tiramasu was a little rich for my blood and could have used a little less caramel to even out the sweetness against the coffee liquer infused lady finger. That being said, my fiance finished it with a smile.
Awesome place!! Food was amazing!! Mushroom and Brie bisque- out of this world delicious- loved the pot pie and desserts!! Can’t wait to go back!!
I don’t usually choose to dine at restaurants attached to hotel chains. But we found ourselves here as part of the local area food week. I hadn’t expected to enjoy my app (they were mostly seafood), and there was a bisque- which I had never tried. But I ate the bisque and it was delicious. I am now converted. Despite being sufficiently full at this stage, I then couldn’t stop eating my beef pot pie. This was the best pot pie since I have lived in the States.
When they bought out my dessert - kit kat cheesecake, I thought there was no way I could eat this. But I did, all of it, and again it was so tasty.
I never order 3 courses, but it was part of a deal. I would have been satisfied with only one of these courses. My friend enjoyed her vegetarian options just as much.
Good ambience and easy parking after business hours
Upon arrival there were no staff for more than five minutes on the floor or behind the bar. No waiters, runners, bartender, busser, hostess. Once someone appeared, we received timely and courteous service. The food servings were sparse and the Crab Benedict eggs were overcooked. The side of fruit was clearly old. It felt like the food was an afterthought. Considering the brunch market in the DC area, the cost and value was poor for what we paid versus what we received.
The service was great. The salad I ordered was lackluster. It was a basic romaine topped with a seared tuna filet. The tuna was bland and had almost no browning at all. The sandwich the other person with me ordered looked better.
We enjoyed Christmas dinner at Trademark Drink + Eat. The servers were attentive and cheerful.
This is a great choice for pre or post movie dinner, as the AMC Hoffman is nearby. Yummy cocktails and delicious comfort food. A good hotel restaurant.

We attended one of their themed dinners for our anniversary and had a great time!
I was there for the event with the A. Smith Bowman Distillery, "A Spirited Evening". The handcrafted original cocktails were creative and delicious, the appetizers served during the event were wonderful, and the environment where we got to meet the Executive Chef and General Manager were very welcoming. My ladyfriend and I had a fantastic time, and plan to return with friends for an actual meal.
The food was excellent and service very attentive at some of the most reasonable price points we’ve seen in the dc area. We will definitely be back.
We picked this restaurant randomly as a midway point to meet some family members. My mom has some challenges with her mobility and they were wonderfully accommodating! The food was excellent, although they only offer brunch at 12:30 on a Saturday. But very good selection. We enjoyed our time and no one rushed us! Big thanks to the staff!
Food was an excellent value for the Restaurant Week. Tried to read the newspaper in the dining area and the lights were turned down so low that you needed a coal miner's light to see.
I believe I'll take my Petzl headband lamp on my next visit to make a point. Since this is primarily a business hotel during the week, whoever designed the lighting did not think that someone might need to read.
We had a business meeting in the area and spent the night at the Westin. The service was fast buy pieced together (food with no utensils and drinks without straws) small issues until I tasted the food. For the price, I expected more. The next day we used our breakfast voucher (gratuity was automatic and we only had two people) the order was wrong. I wouldn't go back becuase of the major discrepancy of quality verses price
Great local spot for conversation, good food and drinks. Very nice and friendly wait staff. You can just stop by for a drink or stay for dinner and won't be disappointed.
Mac n cheese was delicious
Went for Easter Brunch. Very limited menu, although food was generally good. Service was iffy. Lots of confusion when the bill came. Probably won't go back.
Went to Trademark for Sunday brunch. The menu lists fairly standard brunch fare, but everything was well prepared. The drink menu is the highlight of this Alexandria restaurant - really creative offerings and the bartender was on point. Every cocktail was perfectly mixed. The worst part of our visit was the service. Entrees came out at different times, and on person did not get his entree until almost 10 minutes after the rest of the table had gotten theirs. It was also difficult to get the attention of the server for drink refills, although the restaurant was half-empty. We will return and give this place another try however, as the Dino's were THAT good!
The prices were very high, the portions were small, and the customer service was very poor. We waited 20-25 minutes to pay the check because they couldn't handle 7 credit cards. I wish they had told us that before hand, so we would have paid another way and not had to wait.
I had the spinach egg white omelet which was very greasy but had good flavor. Whole wheat toast was perfect. The bagel and lox was excellent but the bagel was a little too toasted for my husband's liking. The service was the best part of the experience, so friendly and accommodating! Would definitely go back for happy hour or lunch.
The service was a bit slow to get started, but once they realized we were there, it was great. I'll give it to them because it was a busy evening. They actually comped us on one of our appetizers for the inconvenience. The food was outstanding, reasonably priced, and hot when it came out. The drinks on the menu were hand crafted, and definitely worth the little extra cost. The restaurant is associated with the Westin Hotel, and they certainly want your experience to be noteworthy.
This is probably a great happy hour spot for people who work in the area. Good beer & wine list. We got the pretzel bites which were really good. But our meals were disappointing. The pork chop was thin and therefore over cooked. We also got the salmon. It was moist, but the whole plate was greasy (the butter on top didn't add flavor, just oil), risotto was thick and the broccolini was also oily. It tasted alright, but not worth the price. We think if we just got drinks and apps it would have been better. Also, it was so noisy our waitress couldn't hear us. We could talk to one another just fine though.
Late Valentines Day dinner visit was an overall positive experience. Believe Trademark may have been a bit overwhelmed by the crowd....service a bit slow. But everyone was pleasant, food was plentiful and tasty.
Great place for a burger or something a little more. Doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant at all. Service was very attentive. We ranged from age 14 to 90 and all had fun. I anticipate we'll go back for more family dinners out.
Food is always great. Service is hit or miss. This time service was terrible. The restaurant was empty and the we kept having to ask the hostess to find our server to get anything. Would have gotten more drinks but he never came back after the first one to even ask. Will go back again for the good and just hope the service is better

We dined during Alexandria's Restaurant Week. The prix fix three course menu included some "experimental desserts which were very good. Food was excellent, especially the appetizers. Service was great, not overly attentive but there at the right times.
We enjoyed the restaurant week wine pairing with the menu. However, the salad was missing some of the ingredients and the service was ok. My water glass only was filled at the end of dinner I probably would not go back
Denis, our server, was outstanding. He anticipated our every need and "knows the hospitality business." We dined from the Restaurant Week menu and the food was plentiful and wonderful. Each course had wonderful presentation and we left stuffed.
A very large negative, which may sway our thoughts about returning, is that the acoustics are horrible. When the restaurant was renovated years back, it turned from a quiet, carpeted venue to a hardwood floor, high bar table, no table cloth venue. It lost its charm and is now intended to trend toward hard-core beer drinkers and craft cocktails. Primarily trending toward the millennial generation. Not the age 50 and upward crowd who has much more money to spend on entertainment and dining.
Bottom line is that we could barely hear each other across the table due to the noise. Not a great place if you're looking for a low-key vibe or a romantic dinner. Not going to happen here.
The property should have considered (and it's not too late) hiring an acoustic engineering firm to dampen the noise via a drop ceiling and other measures. If we could eat here with those improvements, we would become regulars again like years ago. However, I somehow feel that it will never happen. Sad.
This is a nice restaurant inside the Westin Hotel in Alexndria. It has great decor, and the food is very good, but the service was terrible. The gentleman who served us was rude, and dismissive. He made us feel that we were bothering him.
I would go back, if I was in the area, but would definitely request a different waiter!
My husband and I visited Trademark in conjunction with Alexandria's Restaurant Week, but also to celebrate our first three months of marriage. The space is very chic, although the large TV in the dining room struck an off note in an otherwise intimate space - they should leave the TVs in the expansive bar area. I very much enjoyed my appetizer and dessert courses, but my main course (the grilled Cobia) was under seasoned, and the accompanying potatoes were not fully cooked. Our server was excellent; I so appreciated that he timed my wine to the main course, even though I ordered it in advance. I also appreciated the hostess congratulating us on the way out! We would visit again, although perhaps we would try happy hour and snacks instead of dinner.

Great service, good food and good beer during the Beer Tasting and Matching Small Plates event. I had not been here in several years due to poor management and attitudes. However, I will be appearing on a more regular basis after visiting at least once weekly from November 2007 until the remodeling and new management.
Kudos to Chris for his oversight of the F&B service. Ditto for Serena.
