Accommodated our reservation although we arrived early. Enjoyed our bar seating. Great choice and the ideal stop for out-of-town guests soaking up the sights in downtown Detroit.
Food was very good apart from Elk dish which was very bland, well cooked but was not tasty. Excellent service for dinner and at the bar afterwards.
A bit noisy.
Vibe was great , food was great , and overall the service was great. With that being said anytime gratuity is included AND you have potential to get a tip on top I feel like waiters and waitresses should go above and beyond to make customers comfortable and provide a friendly and nice experience. Some of my friends who I invited all had the same complaint about our waiter , that he was making funny faces at requests and being really dry when being asked questions as is he was annoyed. The restaurant business is all about customer service , and from experience you never make anyone feel like their asking as stupid questions or being annoying, so next time I will specifically request another one of the awesome waters / waitresses I've had before instead of that guy.
Our food was delicious! The Elk tenderloin was exquisite and the Truffle fries were fabulous. A wonderful meal and attentive staff... we'll be back again soon!
Hostess was rude. Service was non-existent for about 15-20 minutes after we got seated. No one seemed to know who was supposed to be waiting on our table. The noise level was loud.
Our server was fantastic, hostess, not so much. The atrium is beautiful and the breakfast was great.
Great atmosphere in the atrium, feels like youu're outside and can see everything going on in Detroit. Very cool sparkly firework comes on your dessert. Festive fun place with a good bar and yummy food. Service was a bit slow but they were busy busy.
not what I expected for the price. It was very expensive for what it was, which was average- burger compared to many pub burgers we've had at half the price. Waitress had a mouth on her, and was not back very often. Got there just a bit early and it wasn't crowded at all, empty tables everywhere, and still seated nearly 15 minutes past reservation time. Will try somewhere else, won't go back
Had double date dinner with my boyfriend and my dad. The drinks were very good and expensive of course. I loved their wings and the truffle fries were delicious. It was busy on a Thursday night so I can imagine what the weekend would look like.
Food is mediocre compared to other downtown dining options.
Five of us celebrated my son's 20th birthday. The service from Bryce, our waiter, was top-shelf.
Food choices and quality was very good and the cocktail list was impressive and immense.
Loved the vibe of the place. will definitely return!
This supposed to be fora special occasion, my birthday. My table was in an awkward place between the cashiers and the kitchen. The table it self was too tall, the server was short and could barely reach to put orders on the table I and my guest were very uncomfortable. Not so much of a special occasion for me with this experience
Atmosphere is awesome... valet is clutch. Love the outdoor/glass room seating indoors. The decor is awesome. Pretty limited menu, but some good choices. I ordered the cauliflower and truffle fries to start. Both were great, loved the crispy fries and garlic aioli. I ordered a tuna nigiri and a Jalapeño tuna roll too. At6$ each, the tuna nigiri was weak and totally overpriced, the other one was pretty good, but the tuna was definitely more cooked and you couldn't really taste it. I ordered a burger for dinner medium rare. It came out medium well, so even though I've rarely ever sent anything back- I just had to do it and ask for a new one prepared properly. Everyone else was done eating by the time my burger finally arrived. It was prepared well and had a pretty good flavor. There was no offer of a price adjustment or any dessert or anything for free to make up for the fact that my whole dinner was pretty much ruined, and that by the time I got it, I was pretty much done bc I was eating the appetizers since I was so starving before. I kept waiting and waiting for the bill and boxes and dessert- and it was like 20 more minutes of waiting just to get that taken care of. I had been ready to leave and we had all been done for quite some time, even after having expressed that we were trying to leave and have a fast dinner. Our server was very nice and friendly, and apologetic, but I just think maybe he had too many tables- we never were even offered the opportunity for a drink refill and we were there for an hour and a half. Then when we left finally, we had to walk Around the corner to give valet our ticket, but then had to walk back to the front door to wait for the car- seems very inefficient. Anyways. The atmosphere was great, but I'm not sure if that's enough to bring me back. 😔
We enjoyed our meal at Townhouse very much. The staff were wonderful. We enjoyed drinks and wine and the food was exceptionally good. We loved it! It seemed expensive.
I went for my birthday....Our waitress took and order but for some reason it took an incredible amount of time to get our food. The manager however took care of the situation and comped us for our dishes.
I order a med well burger but it had no pink left inside...the truffle fry accompaniment was tasty though.
Zoey I think was our waitress. Best. Amazing. She gets a 10
Salads with grilled chicken were great. The burgers & truffle fries exceptionally good. The cauliflower appetizer was different and worth a try.
Went for my birthday and absolutely loved it. Even when we asked for something in our meal to be changed, the waitress didn't get annoyed or anything. She was super professional and very friendly. Definitely the first visit of many!
The only thing wrong was the hostess- thought she
was not very nice- the restaurant was not busy
when we arrived and she gave us a crummy table
other wise it was great-
loved out waitress she was fantastic
The service was terribly slow, in spite of reservations and not all tables in the atrium room were full. We were just a party of three (3). Our order was not taken for 20-minutes when menus were already face down; food was not served for another 35+ minutes - we did not require special dietary modifications to our orders; and, still another 15+ minutes to get our check - after I nearly stood out of my seat and politely raised my hand and asked our Server for our check. All-in, about 1-hour and 20-minutes.
I've been here several times and this latest visit was the least favorite. My $21 burger came out a good 5 minutes after all the other meals came out, and with no explanation why the delay. I ordered it medium. It was medium rare in the middle and extremely well done around the outside. Almost as if they forgot my order and threw it on last minute. I will go back but with hesitation. It's a shame because I work in the building and love the easy access to the restaurant.
Enjoyed the service and food. Great atmosphere!! Will be back soon.
Birthday brunch! Amazing cake and awesome service!
Excellent atmosphere !
I will admit that my wife and I came with an open mind for brunch after our first visit, for drinks only, was underwhelming.
WOW. We will be back! The food, the service, sitting in the atrium - totally sold us on returning.
The food potions are large and the drink menus are well thought out.
Really good Bourbon list too!
Very good food. Great service. Good value. The burger and truffle fries were particularly good.
great, friendly service, good food but very pricey for what we ate. I will go back but wasn't expecting the price.
Very tasty hamburger. I've also had the fish tacos in the past which are flavorful. Would like to see the Brussels sprouts back on the menu.
We had a great dinner! Everything was amazing!
The Townsend was very nice I enjoyed the table we sat in I did not like how they didn't follow my request of cooking eggs. I thought the value proposition was a little bit pricey as well
The brunch here is amazing. I do wish the cost of their cocktails were a bit lower. Our table had a great time with fantastic food .
This is the third time that my girlfriend and I have dined at Townhouse Detroit and it was fantastic once again. The Brussels Sprouts, Sushi, and Drinks were fresh and delicious. Roxy, the Manager, has helped us several times and she is lovely. Roxy is the reason we will be going back to Townhouse Detroit! She made us feel welcome, she was extremely upbeat, and treated us like royalty. Such a great experience.
Too noisy - could not even talk.
We were able to be sat earlier than our reservation time, which we appreciated! We sat right by the kitchen which made for a very warm atmosphere but it was fun to watch. The manager was super bubbly and did a nice table touch during dessert. We ordered the Cake, which was 3 layers and big enough to feed a table of 6. Great addition to the menu!
Food was delicious, Waitress (Liz?) was fantastic to describe dishes and make recommendations and provide shareable appetizers. Tomahawk steak was great, very tasty. Came back later for dessert and drinks. Looking forward to coming back when the roof can be opened.
The atmosphere is great! My husband had the beef burger, which was tasty, but $20 for a burger, really??? I had the veggie burger, which was mushy inside. Also overpriced! If you charge these prices, it better be exceptional (which is was)
Excellent food and great service! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Our server was great and full of recommendations. Food was great. Fun and nice ambiance.
Good, service great-but after leaving- noticed we were charged for an expensive drink we didn't order, and found the forty dollar corking fee excessive-
