Towne Hall Ratings and Reviews
After 10 years of eating there noticed great decline in menu and huge increase in price. The last time I'm attending & giving them my money. They try to squeeze your every penny. So stingy!!!!! The glass of wine Chablis is barely 5oz and cost $12. Shame on them! It was such a great place and in West Island.
My friend and I both had the philly cheese steak sandwich which was on the lunch special. It was not very good. The sandwich was soggy and the beef tough even though they say on the menu it was spencer steak. You could not eat the sandwich like a sandwich as it was dripping all over the place. When using a knife and fork I am not sure a steak knife would have done the trick. Overall the dinning experience was very dissappointing and a bit embarrassing for me as Town Hall was my suggestion for lunch.
Had lunch at Towne Hall on Mother's Day recently, and found the food excellent, and the service top notch. While not a family restaurant per se, the staff were very accommodating for my small family, including an 18 month old toddler. In particular, Hind, Philippe, and Basheer were very helpful in making us comfortable, helping where possible with our child, and allowing us to take our time during our meal during a busy day. Will definitely recommend to others and will come back again.
Very ordinary in a pretentious setting. Lots of staff but service was slow to non existent. During our meal a server tripped, fell and clearly injured himself. The managements angry response was surprising. The patrons were more concerned for his well being than his employer. No need to return to this restaurant.
This was my second time and I suggested to my friend that we order 2 dishes that I tried already the first time I tried this place. This time around the food was mediocre and not consistent with my first experience.
Octopus appetizer was good but not worth 25$. Dumplings we're fine. Spinach arugula salad with goat cheese, cranberries and nuts was lacking one of the main ingredient: GOAT CHEESE! Asked for steak medium rare and received it medium well (we still ate it though). The wine selection is quite elaborate (that's a big plus). As for the sweets, well they ran out of cheesecake and creme brulee (strange, considering they ran out of the same thing last time I was there). We opted to try the other 2 items on the menu: fondant au chocolat and Oreo Baklava. The fondant was really good and well executed however the Oreo Baklava was rapidly left aside after one bite.
Great food, nice decor. Pricey. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Ask for Neptune starter or platter (not on the menu) to share. Filet minion and seafood soup were great. Chocolate soufflé suggested by waiter was very nice. Would rerun to try other dishes on the menu.
We were disppointed. We found that the price did not justify the quality of our food. Food was good, but not amazing. Our waiter was terrible. He did not smile once, and we had to go looking for him several times for things such as ordering our food, asking for drinks etc... The atmosphere is nice, bathroom were okay. 1 Blocked toilet, and 1 stall door lock was broken, so not many stalls left for the customers! Over all, for $125 for 2 people, you can get much better food and service elsewhere.
