Towne 380 Ratings and Reviews
It's hip to be slow.... Found 380T from a quick search on t1 for something close to the Hilton in Laval where we were staying on a Saturday night. Got 8:15pm reservations for 2 just a half hour before, parked in the full lot and walked into a lively resaurant with a nice open kitchen, large bar area and a dj spinning some nice house tunes - SCORE! Now I understand that service on a Saturday night with a full crowd may be a little extended, but don't get your hopes up here..... Sit back and hopefully you'll get served a drink to soak in the otherwise club like ambiance. After an hour and a half a server finally shows and presented us with what we have been craving for - FOOD!!! I don't know if it was the wait or if the chef is that good, but our plates were excellent and we almost ate those too! One thing missing was any sort of vegetable, something our server should have suggested when we ordered as all veggies are alacarte. Go figure... We ran out of wine and water never to be offered again... By 11 I asked for a grappa and we moved tables close to the dj who was keeping the crowd entertained while we all craved for food and something to drink. Not bad for $150 and a fun night in Laval!
When we arrived there was no table available maybe due to the fact that we reserved same day 40 minutes ahead. Anyway, if a restaurant accepts a reservation I expect a table. This explains my rating.
Service was courteous, food good and ambiance a bit noisy but energetic vibe.
Verres a vin retournés , ils étaient salles.
I was down from Toronto and my friend took me to this restaurant because she lives in Laval. At first glance, everything looked beautiful and the ambiance was great. We were two and seated at a four person table. We placed our belongings on the extra chairs and shortly after a hostess came by and asked us if we would like her to take our things and put them in the coat room. We politely declined and then she told us she needed the chairs therefore we had no choice. So why were we asked? Our waiter came to take our drink order, and then our dinner order. My friend asked for the calamari to start, and that she would like the baby spinach and goat cheese salad for her meal with added chicken. She asked to have to salad brought after the calamari. I ordered the quinoa and octopus salad, and then we were brought our bread. We had to ask for water also. Calamari was delicious, however size of sauce compared to amount of calamari was not enough. My friend got her salad, and there was no chicken. To avoid having service be longer, she decided she would just have the salad as is. We waited at least 15 minutes and my salad never came, so we asked our waiter. He said he hadn't put my order in because my friend had asked for her salad before her chicken. She ordered the chicken IN her salad, not chicken on its own. He then told us the chicken was already in the oven, so we asked him to just bring it as is. She cut it up and put it in the salad herself. Needless to say, we didn't stick around for dessert. With all the confusion and delays for getting food, you would think that we would have some sort of compensation, but instead were promptly handed our bill. Our waiter was nice, but a little more attention to detail and questions on his end (if he was unsure about what we wanted) could have made all the difference
The food is great. Off the menu specials, steak and fish lovers place to be. There are selections for multiple budgets from mid to high end. A few weird tables where you are in corners tucked away from the rest of the restaurant. Avoid these seatings. I will go there again.
The atmosphere is good and the service friendly and commandable. The wines list couls have been expanded a little but the advices we have received from the waiter were very good. Appetizers are large and could easily be transformed into a main course meal... The quality of the food is very good. We will return!
Until finding Towne 380 I thought everyone must just go into Montreal to eat. Towne 380 is like what you find on Crescent Street. Food is good. Better than a chain restaurant. That being said it is not cutting edge with its food but it was good. The problem is they did not have things that were featured on their menu, both on the wine list and food menu. Their menu is not laid out in a way to make it easy to read. The waitresses are dressed like they work at Moxie's. They need to decide if they are a chain restaurant or something unique. My service was ok. We got sat in front of a west facing window with no shade on it as the sun was setting. The place was empty.....not considerate at all. If you need to eat in Laval this will do
The wife and I decided to find good restaurants in Laval instead of trying to navigate to Montreal restaurants. Excellent food and service. We got there early so we didn't deal with a crowded place. Tuna was the best. Filet and Delmonico were cook to perfection. Expensive, but worth it.
The only way I could best describe my disappointment is to describe my food choices. The calamari were cooked to perfection but very few on the dish and were drowned by onions. The main dish was salmon served with asparagus. Well the dish came and literally I have not seen a smaller piece of salmon ever sold in a restaurant and to top it off there was but TWO asparagus. When the waiter came to ask if we were pleased well I expressed my disappointment. He then offered a free offering which I refused. I simply said you have but one opportunity to impress and that failed. Typically I eat my food like everybody else and if I am not happy I just choose not to return but for reason I felt compelled to say something this evening.
We celebrated our son's birthdays and was not disappointed with our evening! This is a great restaurant that offers superb service and outstanding quality of food. At 10:00 pm live DJ played a great variety of today's and yesterday's hits....not to loud so we could still speak and be heard.
This is a much better option than any chain steakhouse and the menu offers a diverse choice (fish or pasta). My wife and I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
food was very good, service impeccable
In some parts of the restaurant the music is quite loud.
The main downside was the cold. We were given a table by the window, I did mention I was worried about the cold but was reassured it would be fine. Not a major problem , but a little uncomfortable
Last Saturday, we were 2 couples and decided to try this restaurant after reviewing the menu which looked really interesting. The food actually easy quote tasty and well presented. Unfortunately, we seated next to 2 groups and speakers that were loud, we couldn't hear each other speak. So we just ate our food and finally when the group left it sort of got better but then the resto turns into a supper club so we left too. As for the food it's pretty good, wine list too expensive for some bottles. Same bottle I paid $50 at another resto was $70 at Towne380. Too bad the coffee wasn't that great after a pretty good meal and great dessert.
The wife and I heard about this place from friends who enjoyed it. The menu is a cross between 40 Westt and Towne Hall, both West Island staples for us. We were greeted by leggy blondes and given a fabulous seat in front of a fireplace overlooking the bar area. Drinks were quite reasonably priced. We shared a village salad. The tomatoes were not quite as plump as the 40 Westt version but still, it was terrific. Wife had a steak with garlic mashed that she loved and I had the sesame crusted tuna which is a magnificent dish. We were too full for the dessert tray that they wheel around to tempt you with. Perhaps next time. Wait staff were friendly and the owner Joseph made us feel quite at home. We are definitely coming back!
