With bar and "dog-friendly" patio seating reserved for walk-in guests, the restaurant has become a favorite for casual impromptu dining as well as for special occasions. Town is located in hip Kaimuki, just minutes from Waikiki, and is loved by locals and visitors alike. Go to Town.
sophisticated food, local, and well cooked. friendly service attractive restaurant
We had to wait a bit for our wine to be chilled and come to our table. Waitress was very cute though. She recommended adding on a tuna tartar if we would split and appetizer-very accommodating. The tuna tartar on the crispied rice cake was good although we both wished for some salt. Mahi-mahi was excellent and felt so fresh including the Farro and Vegetables but the real winner was the house made Pasta with beef and pork. Best pasta I have had on the island and maybe even in America. so good!
Wonderful! Ask for Lauren...
We had a wonderful dining experience here- 6 of us at a corner table booth that we thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn’t too noisy so we were able to have fun conversations including everyone! Almost felt like we were dining at home but without all the work for me!!! Our friends enjoyed the chicken, pork chop and pasta Raghu, I had incredible gnocchi, we all loved the tuna tartare and salads. I think after much wine we ended up ordering one of each dessert which were out of this world too!!!
Inedible food and just adequate service
Excellent food and a decent bottle of wine made for another nice dinner at Town even though we had a strange table. Service was warm and friendly and very attentive.
We chose Town because it was recommended in an article in the NY Times. We thought it was a terrific find located in a hip neighborhood in Honolulu away from the expensive high rises, resort hotels and designer brand shops of downtown Honolulu. The food, which is locally sourced, was delicious and well presented. Our waitress was very helpful and truly pleasant to speak with. The restaurant treated us to two flute glasses of Prosecco after they learned we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. What a nice touch.
Great food and drinks. Friendly staff in a casual atmosphere. If you go before 6:30pm thay have a happy-hour food and drink menu. Most order the ahi tartar for appetizers.
We had arrived 15minutes before booked time. There are still many available tables. But the said we have to wait at bar with drink or outside because of controlling spacing between each guests , so we waited at outside because we don’t want to get drink before eating. When we got seat, the food was served so slow. We wait so long even for breads and water. We asked server to get water and to take a box for pasta that we couldn’t eat. But water wasn’t starved and the food never came back. Moreover, during we were seated, there was no available table. Where is rule of spacing that the host talked about earlier?? And finally they gave check with 18% chip included already without any mention. We’re only two people but why they charge with such a poor service. That was very sad experience and worse ever.
Food was slow arriving
Soup was way too salty, and the goat cheese appetizer was quite small. Gnocchi was very good, but missing a hint of something I can't put my finger on. Others enjoyed the pasta (pork sugo) very much. The pannacotta dessert was define.
Recommended by friends, Town really delivered. Absolutely delicious food, and outstanding service. We will definitely return!
Delicious food, great service, comfortable pleasant dining room. What is there to say? Oh yea, about those front steps wit no handrail ...
It’s always good.
Great food! Great service!
We come here a lot ourselves, and recently brought friends who had never been. A week later they are still taking about how fantastic their fish and pasta dishes were. We all enjoyed our meals, as well as the casual but upscale vibe and friendly and very knowledgeable servers. We will definitely be back and love taking guests there to enjoy great at local food expertly prepared!
The best meal I had in Honolulu -- outstanding swordfish and a beautifully delicate tarragon cocktail. Bravo!
This is still one of the best places to eat in Honolulu !
The ambiance was nice the food was pretty delicious. It took about 2 hours to get a bowl of pasta and and hour and a half to get our first appetizer and drinks and that was with tracking down people. In total we almost spent 3 hours there and all we had was pasta and split some goat cheese pancakes. I think the food would have been more enjoyable if we hadn’t sat so long without drinks or food. Also, there were staff outside of our server just looking for stuff to do or hanging out by the check in desk so I’m not sure why all together the staff wasn’t more attentive or helping each other out ? I did enjoy my meal but I wouldn’t go back.
We had a pleasant evening in spite of the noise.
Food quality and service is always outstanding at Town.
Always a good meal at Town. Varied menu built around local ingredients. When we have friends or family visiting Honolulu, this is our go-to place in Kaimuki.
We had a great meal. The best thing we ordered wasn't even on the menu but we discovered it by spying on the people at the next table.
Took someone out who’s moving out of state
Overall great food. Excellent hostess (who did much more than hostessing.). Took 2 hours for a group of 3 without dessert! Our service was extremely slow and Our waitress was not attentive to her section - tables around us were also flagging down other waitresses! Again we will be back for the food.
Fantastic experience at Town. Ordered a holiday menu with pairings that was outstanding, especially the seafood stew. Just wow.
It was a wonderful dining experience & a treat for the taste buds. Paige & Nissa took excellent care of us - they were engaging, friendly & informative.
Very, very poor service. Our server couldn’t have cared less about our table. Our other two experiences here were just fine, but after this go around we aren’t giving them another dime.
I’m a regular to Town. Love the food and service there so decided to make a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner. Requested an outdoor table so our family could enjoy dinner with our fur baby doggie. Got a call from Town the day before Christmas Eve, asking me to choose between an indoor table or outdoor table because they were fully booked and needed our response at that moment. It was cold and rainy that day so I chose the indoor table. Christmas Eve turned out to be a warm kind of day but we didn’t call to change our table reservation because the person we talked to kept emphasizing that they were fully booked & would be unable to make any changes.
When we arrived at Town, we were seated at a table that faced the door with an access to hallway toilets. There was a fan nearby the exit and a few empty tables around us that would have been nicer. We enjoyed our dinners but the food didn’t seem as good as it usually did. Think the special Holiday menu and extra reservation affected the staff. Fish wasn’t prepared like it usually was and came with a very spicy green sauce that probably wouldn’t agree with a lot of patrons. The bruschetta also Cale with grilled shishito peppers that was too spicy for one of our guests.
As we let the restaurant, we noticed lots of outdoor tables that could have accommodated us and our fur baby. 🙁Will continue to come to Town for a regular weekend dinner but not for special occasions.
Oh my, this is one of our most favorite restaurants. Every time we go (visiting from Alaska) we worry it can’t be as good as we remember... but then it exceeds expectations. What a special place with truly awesome food!
Loved it the gnocchi was particularly fantastic. Wines great value also.
Food was just excellent! We had chicken and the fish of the day. Both were prepared with lots of vegetables and just the right amount of seasoning. The weight help was gracious and very helpful
Music too loud but ambience wonderful. Love this place
Enjoyable evening, we stayed late and closed the place. And oooops...forgot to use 10$ Open Table “coupon”. 😕
We were 2 parties of 4. They called to see if we wanted to sit together. Which was nice. I told them as long as were were next to each other. We were 4 kids, 4 adults. We ordered for the kids first. Their food never came first. A quesadilla took 45 minutes. And the grilled cheese was burnt. The restaurant was not full. Town is one of my favorite 3 restaurants in Honolulu. But that might was a disappointment.
