With bar and "dog-friendly" patio seating reserved for walk-in guests, the restaurant has become a favorite for casual impromptu dining as well as for special occasions. Town is located in hip Kaimuki, just minutes from Waikiki, and is loved by locals and visitors alike. Go to Town.
We were a party of 6 so we anticipated some delay in being served. but we had to wait quite a while for our food. The food was not remarkable, especially considering how much it cost. We had to huddle together to hear the person sitting across the table from us. The best feature of the evening was the waitstaff. They were very friendly and gracious.
We went to Town 18 months ago and loved it, but the food really went south. Steak cooked not to order, famous fries too greasy, salad underdressed. Will not be back.
Consistent great food. The ahi appetizer is too good to share!! Guard your plate. Entrees are all amazing. Favorites are the chicken & handcut pasta.
Good and friendly
Great, prompt & friendly service, lunch was great, the burger is excellent, flavorful & fresh. Their salad with fish of the day outstanding! (Free, easy parking behind their building)
Delicious food, great service. Town is always a good choice.
It was a cold & rainy & windy night and we were seated directly in the line of the front doors — every time someone came in or left, we were blasted. Food was so-so, nothing great. Parking is limited and difficult to find.
Love the location. Feels very much dark to table. Clearly a locals spot. Great people watching
Fresh focaccia was awesome
Drinks-Moscow Mule had a strange fishy flavor and the waitress begrudgingly took it back after we asked as she didn’t offer replacement was just ok. Both drinks had a strange flavor
Fries with dipping sauce. Perfect cook and so fresh tasting
Caesar salad outstanding fresh local Ingredients
Pork shoulder. Over cooked and dry. Seasoning was nice but cook was off
Pasta was good. Nice flavors from the chorizo. Noodles a bit dense
Chocolate tarts with pretzel crust. A big miss as the crust was stale and chewy, the chocolate wasn’t firm enough
We still love this Kaimuki gem. All of our favorite items are still here: Ahi tartare, pan roasted chicken, gnocci, and the Kulana strip loin. All cooked to perfection. #comfortfood
Town has delicious food! Sat at the bar, where it seems slightly quieter and had great service. My sister and I had the Pork Shoulder and Strip Steak. Good portions and nicely prepared veggies, it was a such a nice meal!
Everyone was moving really fast in the restaurant. We ordered and our kale and carrot salad came right away. It was good, once we got some dressing for it, but it was quickly followed by our pasta dishes. The gnocchi was nice and tender but the sauce had absolutely no depth of flavour. It was basically lightly cooked leek, mushroom and some cherry tomatoes. The ragu sauce was also not spectacular. Overall, the ingredients were quality ones but the preparation wasn’t and it really lacked the feel of a “dining experience”. Rather it was a quick, ok meal.
Birthday dinner! Saw that Anthony Bourdain came here and wanted to check it out while in Oahu. Great staff and amazing food and drinks! Will definitely come back when we are in town!
The food was on point! The service was awesome. Come back here again!
As always our meal at Town was delicious. Fresh ingredients and so flavorful.
Service was slow and food did not come out for a while. When it did come out, 3 tables got their food all at once. Food was excellent. We wanted dessert but 2 hours for lunch is a bit goo long.
The usually great fries were limp and soggy. The medium rare burger was over cooked. Citrus cooler used be muddled and this time there was just orange slice on the edge of the glass and some basil in the drink. Disappointing since I raved about the food to my guest.
Fresh and nuanced. We very much enjoyed the local ingredients and Chef's light touch. Friendly, knowledgable and accommodating staff.
Overall it was good, but not great. We've been here several times over the years, and the quality of the food seems to have gone down some. The Gnocchi were not edible. They were mushy with no consistency or flavor. The chicken however done well and nicely flavored.
Superb quality at a very reasonable price. Wine list is downright cheap. A great spot for lunch!
It started it all about fourteen years ago. The truly first farm to table restaurant. They haven’t changed anything except to get better and better. Since the influx of so many new and great restaurants on Oahu we haven’t been going to Town as much as we’ve gone in the past. This has nothing to do with how great it is. Unbelievable ambiance, excellent wine list and with restaurant Fete right along side, the best fish on Oahu. We had the following and it’s impossible to pick which one was the best.
sweet land goat’s cheese pancakes, tomatoes, basils,
risotto cakes, chive
cremini, corn, asparagus, sungolds, lemon, sage
Mahi Mahi in a saffron fish stock with aioli/bread and turnips + ?
Service was excellent, the food was very tasty, overall a great experience!!
Was very excited to try this restaurant and found it very disappointing.
The air conditioning was non existent.
Great Food, local, sustainable and great service !! Highly recommendable......
It's our fourth time at Town (over eight years) and the food is, as always, the best! Great wine selection at affordable prices. Mardi, our waitress, was so kind and knowgeable. We will be back. Mahalo
It was great vibe in the restaurant, our server was super nice and the food was delicious. We were seated immediately since we made a reservation.
Thoughtfully prepared food using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. Town's food is consistently good and simple without being overbearing, heavily sauced or ambitious. Town also makes some of the best and most authentic Italian pasta on the island. The pasta and sauces are made in-house, with the perfect amount of sauce. The house ragu is excellent. Portions are ideal too, without being excessive. The quality of the ingredients is superb. Town is a true gem.
Still one of the best restaurants around!
My friend ordered a medium-rare hamburger but it came to the table charred and beyond "well done." He had to send it back.
Town was very good, not quite great- we were there on New Years Eve, an extra busy night which might have held it back a bit. It is quite small and there is very little place inside to wait for a table- which means you might have to wait outside if your reservation isn't ready- a bit less than ideal.
Food shows a bit of italian/local fusion overall-
Goat cheese pancake appetizer was solid. Hand cut pasta with pork, beef, porcini ragu had a bit of a loco moco flavor to it- and the texture of the meat was a bit ground beef like. Gnocchi was very good- with a pleasant flavorful broth. The Mahi dish was good, though my son found the greens/tokyo turnips a slightly overpowering with bitterness. The pork belly porchetta was decadent and loved the crispy skin and creamy polenta.
Wine list is a bit small and italian dominated- unfortunately a couple of choices were also sold out.
All in a solid choice and would go back.
Second visit and I am already planning my third already. Best gem in Waikiki. A must!
The setting and the serve staff were terrific. The food however, was terrible. There were 5 of us and we each had something different and not one good thing can be said about any of it, other than the yam fries and ciabatta bread which were both good. The main courses looked and tasted dreadful. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever.
Dishes were generally too salty. The turnips were hard and couldn't be cut with a knife.
Great food, nice selection of wine, warm atmosphere, and too reasonable price.
No complaints at all.
Elaborated cook for organic loco ingredients. Good balance of salt, sour and spice for every plate.
One of the best meal I had in Honolulu! Outstanding! Service was excellent very attentive.Highly recommended.
Always amazing food. Inventive menu, expert preparation. Delicious!
Service was extremely slow. Took 15-20 min before or “official” server came to table...and only because we requested it. But...she was nice once she arrived.
We have eaten at Town before and have never been impressed by anything about it, but we are staying at the home of friends who, when we invited them out, chose to go there. The menu is very limited, there aren’t many vegetables on offer, the service was lackadaisical, the room was noisy, and the restrooms are a hike away and not very attractive. The prices are not higher than elsewhere, but the experience is much better elsewhere in Honolulu.
