I didn't really care for this place, I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I had the porkchop, it was huge and the apples on top were piping hot, the porkchop was luke warm. The goat cheese mac and cheese was a little dry for me, not bad but nothing spectacular. My boyfriend had the chicken. The vegetables were really food, but the chicken could have used more seasoning.
Ambiance had a few too many college crowd folks for me, and my boyfriend felt uncomfortable. Average food, ok ambiance-- just too many options in DC to come back here.
Fantastic good and great service.
Great small town rustic feel, especially during the fall! Just a short walk down the hill to Georgetown for shopping. Would definitely recommend this place for a day of brunch, walking, and shopping.
My husband and I ate here with two other couples in the outdoor bar area. Best seating in the house when the weather cooperates. We had excellent service and pretty good food considering this place is really primarily a bar . I had an excellent burger and fries. The goat cheese mac and cheese is out of sight. Avoid the fried oysters. For me the right setting is 95% of the experience.
Went here for brunch last Sunday. The food here was terrific. The drinks were delicious. Our server, Derek, was fantastic. The only downside was the helicopter manager that observed so much of our meal that it made my friend uncomfortable enough to say something about it to our waiter. I'd probably suggest a more subtle way for management to observe their patrons and waitstaff. Perhaps engage them in conversation instead of creepily observing every move.
Very hospitable staff, wonderful patio for outdoor dining and a nice selection of solid brunch items. The "Eggs in the Middle" was a little heavy on the bread while light on the egg, but the home fries were amazing. The Huevos could use some work on increasing its zestiness. The white omlet was a hit, light but filled with flavor.
New to the area and found this place walking on Wisconsin Ave. Above normal tasting food, great service and excellent deal on Tuesday nights with half off bottle of wines. Had a table in the dining room which is quieter and enjoyed tasty rolls and trout special which was nicely done.
My family and I enjoyed the food and the hospitality. The shrimp pasta was excellent and the chicken salad was uniquely tasty. Our overall experience would have been outstanding if the AC was not too high. We will definitely return for dinner but only with a sweater/jacket.
Another excellent experience at Town Hall. Very helpful waitstaff, great beer, and excellent food.
Great place to go with the family. Nice variety of dishes for everyone. Good service and the food was out on a timely fashion.
We go to Town Hall often and enjoy it. At a recent brunch the service was good, and the food was fine, though not special. Note to cook: the home fries were too oily and not crisp. Pay attention to presentation of the food on the plate.
Town Hall is one of those restaurants in Glover Park that I find myself returning to again and again. Wonderful food, great staff, great beer :)
It was good, American bistro food in a nice place. Unfortunately we picked a night where there apparently was some sort of special event going on, and the place was packed with loud, irritating college-age kids that tweaked the experience a bit. The beer list was not particularly long, but it had quality beers. Good variety of house cocktails as well. We shared the D.C. Rolls as an appetizer, they were slightly underwhelming. The entrees were all satisfying, with the Catfish Sandwich being particularly tasty and filling. Nice place in a nice area, would've liked to spend more of the night there, too bad about the loud, entitled clowns.
Overall my experience was extremely good. The good was delicious and the service was great too. The outdoor patio was very nice as well.
We had a new waitress so she was not very informed about the menu.
My mother cannot eat spicy food and asked what was in the chimichurri viniagrette but the waitress knew it was a 'hot' sauce. She meant temperature-wise, not spicy.
She made an ordeal out of bringing out our steak knives. She brought out my mother's, on a tray (with others), then walked away only to come back a few minutes later with mine. Kind of strange.
I ordered the Duroc pork chop (I had a gift certificate and had to spend $100) but wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. It was a little too rare for me.
I would suggest that the wait staff taste the food before giving recommendations.
We go often - good food, great bar and outdoor upstairs bar.
I ordered the portabello burger and wondered, as I do about most every bar burger, how I'm expected to get my mouth around it.
In fact I took one whole mushroom off and abandoned it. Way more than necessary. Looked to be the case with the rest of the entrees round our table as well. Food was all good enough, but perhaps not as good as the Town Hall of yore. And I don't remember such gigantic portions before either. Less would be more. . ... Otherwise we enjoy going here.
On the other hand, if you're starving, this is the place for you.
It was my first Town Hall dining experience and I left thoroughly satisfied. The weather was perfect for an outdoor meal and I was pleasantly surprised by Town Hall's outdoor area. It is massive. Our waitress Jess was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and perfectly portioned. I felt neither stuffed nor underfed. All in all, Town Hall is a great brunch spot and I would definitely return to experience dinner.
I'm sorry the mussels are no longer on the mnenu, but what we had was good and a good value.
Nice place, bartender was very slow and opinionated
This is my second time at Town Hall. The pancakes were made to perfection, but I must say that savory dishes need more favor like rosemary or thyme and a pinch of salt.
We had a great time this past time at Town Hall. I really appreciated that the owner sat us in a special room to watch the NCAA tournament games for my guests and I. This made the night. The food is always well-prepared and the service is timely.
It wasbunseasonably cold out and we had to ask th server to turn the heat up. I was waivering between catfish and steak and she recommended former...not very good, oddly prepared, greasy and swimming unappetzingly in butter, wine list good and my daughters meatloaf good...allelse weagreed was disappointing....
I went to Town Hall for Sunday brunch. We were a little early and they graciously accommodated us at the bar. Our food was good, but quite under-seasoned. Despite that, I absolutely recommend coming here, and I plan on returning soon.
One of my favorite places to eat and an easy walk from anywhere in glover park. Delicious food, great atmosphere. My only complaint is that they are very quick to clear your plate even if the rest of your party is still eating.
I don't like the high top tables; I was going to brunch not a pub. We did end up sitting at a regular table. Next time, I will request a booth.
The food was delicious! Our server was great, friendly and attentive. Will definitely return.
We had a friend in from New York and picked Town Hall as a place to meet for dinner. Food and drinks were very good and service was great. I would definitely go back.
Town Hall is consistently excellent.
My two girlfriends and I went here for the first time and left very happy. Our server was very attentive and the food was delicious. Both of my friends got Mexican breakfast dishes and loved them. I got the blueberry pancakes with hashbrowns. The pancakes were perfect. I will definitely be returning and hope to check out lunch or dinner sometime.
I always enjoy coming to this restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere are very good. I was particularly appreciative of the service during this last visit. The owner called me personally when he could not accommodate a request for a table given the restaurant's busy schedule that evening. I appreciated his thoughtfulness and good will. Our meal was well prepared and it was a good evening.
The brunch was delicious! I ordered the Chorizo meal and I loved it. I would come back again, for both brunch and drinks.
Family came in town for the inauguration and wanted to do brunch in Georgetown. I picked this place on a whim and I can't say there was anything wrong with our meal, service or the restaurant ambiance. Very lively brunch crowd. The menu has all of your brunch staples and a couple of their own dishes at a very reasonable price. It wasn't the greatest omelet I've had but it wasn't bad either. I liked their potatoes a lot. Llike I said, no complaints.
A convenient, neighborhood restaurant. I've been to Town Hall a few times, for brunch and dinners. The food is consistently good.
This is a cute enighborhood place with a simple menu and excellent pricing on wine. The service was great, our server checked on us after each course was served and came to refill our water and wine glasses. It was a great meal for a Sunday night, my only complaint is that the music was a little too loud and not all the songs were appropriate for the setting (it was more of an alternative rock mix- Green Day, etc.).
Town Hall never disappoints. Perfect, delicious brunch as always.
The brunch food here is amazing!! Everything everybody ordered was scrumptious, and we were tasting off each other's plates joyfully!!
We went for brunch. Service was good, bellinis were yummy. I had french toast and bacon which were both delicious, my partner had the chicken fingers with fries, which were really good as well. Service was attentive without being invasive.
Nice food, comfortable room. Service was attentive. Good value.
Nice place. Even though I was there for lunch, the noise level was a little loud. This seems to be a problem with the design of the dining room.
Awesome! First time and DC and chose this out of the blue, would go back anytime! Wish there was a place like this back in Boston!
