Very good that’s always one of my favorites for lunch in San Francisco, fried green tomatoes , Fried okra, all were lovely
Food and Service was fantastic
Food was delicious! Restaurant was lovely, but a little loud. Overall, truly enjoyed and will be back!
Fantastic spaghetti squash! Eating outside was great!
The food was good - everyone enjoyed their meals (pork chop, 2 seafood dishes, and I ordered a bavette but was served a hangar - which I actually prefer anyway). My steak was a bit under seasoned and I was brought jus that wasn't gluten free after discussing that with the server, so that was strange.
Our biggest problem here was the service. After dropping salads, our waitress was pretty MIA and we had a question about one of them. Then, entrees took FOREVER to hit the table. So long a few of us had taken trips to the bathroom basically to kill time and not be so stressed about it. It was a Friday night but it wasn't packed yet - our dinner was at 6:45pm and the kitchen seemed already SUPER behind. It's not the end of the world, but our waitress never mentioned it, made any sort of apology for the delay, nor offered anything up as a consolation.
Overall, I can't say I'll never be back, but it won't be soon given how many amazing places there are in SF. The food here is solid, but it's crazy to wait that long for an entree without a mention- I'm talking probably over 30 minutes - but we didn't count. Luckily, it was a family-in-town type of dinner so we were doing out best to chat and enjoy one another's company until we were sort of hangry.
Small and large portions we were surprised at how great everything tasted. Love the fried okra!
Good southern inspired cooking! Nice portion sizes.
We came to town with a recommendation to try it and we weren’t disappointed. Three of us shared the 39 ounce rib eye with three sides and could barely eat half of it. The steak was done perfectly and the sides were all excellent. We had a great waiter who gave us a wonderful wine recommendation and it was very good. I would definitely suggest it for a special occasion and we will go back when we’re in town.
Very small portions and my food was luke warm which I usually send back but we were really hungry. The other two guest enjoyed their food. Deserts were very god.
Staff is great!!!
One of our favorite neighborhood spots. Delicious southern comfort food with a California twist.
Horrible experience with the food coming out about an hour and 15 minutes after it was ordered. one of my customers had to leave to get back to work before the food even came out.
Great lunch spot in SF! Loved the beet salad, added grill chicken!! Delicious!
Everything was great except for the Noise level at dining peak time. All food was awesome! BBQ shrimp, tuna tartare, cornbread, ribs and sole. One order of the Babette steak was over cooked and too tough! Bad cut?
Love the place!
A perfect evening. Nice and casual, delicious food and exceptional service. Highly recommend.
Set in a great old historical building (best part). Overall, pretty average, and not cheap - would give it 2.5 stars out of five. I had the sole - OK but nothing special. My girlfriend had the fried chicken and waffles...chicken was excellent, waffles a little limp. Ordered sides of the jalapeno corn bread which came with very few jalapenos, and the jambalaya which was good. Warm apple tart was excellent. Cappuccino was served tepid. Service felt rushed; had to back off our waitress a couple of times. There are many other better SF restaurants.
Really nice ambience. Casual hip. Fish sandwich was quite tasty while margarita was excellent. Could be loud if totally full. Bit only moderate noise as we had a late lunch.
The food was great but the service was SLOW. We were a party of 7 that came in at 11:45am for lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time before the lunch hour rush. Unfortunately, multiple tables around us ate their food and paid the bill before our drinks even came. We were one of the last tables still there at 1:30 and STILL waiting for the bill. Great food but not sure it was worth all of the time spent.
Had a reservation via Open Table for 7:45 on a Friday night. We arrived at 7:35, a little early and there was no table available but the hostess suggested we eat outside. It was a warm evening, we wanted to be able to chat freely so we agreed. The construction next door was loud and continuous. Never let up. We were the only party eating outside, our waiter was grumpy even waving us off at one point when my friend wanted a second glass of wine ($20 glass of top rated and delicious Mcphail Pinot) Food was good:2 of us ordered the sole, the 3rd had the chicken and waffles which was a big serving and apparently delicious. We also had oysters, the beet salad (fantastic, best I’ve had) and a wedge salad (nice, a good serving-easily split between 2-3). The dessert we shared was roasted plums with marscapone (inventive, tasty-highly recommend). Because the hostess lead us to eat outside in what came to be an active construction site and the bad attitude of the waiter, I will go elsewhere next time. The food would have been more
enjoyable away from noise
and served by a pleasant person
Fabulous as always!!
