Love this place. The atmosphere is really really great. Wonderful place to meet up with friends.
We asked for a table as I have had knee replacement surgery and were seated in a booth for our party of 6. Sitting in the aisle was very disruptive to my party and staff!
Front desk said my reservation was at 12:45 am, not 12:45 pm. Women at front desk was very rude. We were able to be accommodated but it wasn't a pleasant front desk experience.
Good service. Great place for brunch.
Family lunch to celebrate Mom’s 89th birthday. Lovely room decorated for holidays and restaurant honored our table request. Service attentive, friendly. Started out fine in noise department but ended up a little too loud for older folks’ conversation. Only downside was the portion sizes, which were overall too large. Others may like this though.
Christmas lunch with friends
Other than it being very cold where we sat, it was amazing.
Busy place, lots of mayhem food is reasonable great hunting lodge atmosphere. Good place for first or second date. Lots of people watching. Hard to find parking
The restaurant was very inviting, with many decorations to keep your interest peaked. We started with the gnocchi, then I had a steak with truffle mac and cheese and my wife had the duck breast. We ended the cheesecake. Everything was amazing, with lots of flavor and cooked perfectly! The cheesecake was velvety and rich. We will definitely be coming back!
I like the lively ambience of Tower Oaks Lodge. It was busy when we arrived so we had to wait a little while for our table, but the staff was very courteous and the food was quite delicious!
When making reservations, ask to be seated in the Great room. It's more spacious and has better light.
Our service was fantastic! One of the best experiences we’ve had at Tower Oaks.
Very nice evening
It is a great place if you can stand the very high noise level!
The quality is always consistent and there are so many choices on the menu to satisfy every type of eater.
Horrible service and horrible food
Tower Oaks is consistently good! Great service with a menu to match. Great place for date night or dinner with friends. I highly recommend!
I love the ambiance of this restaurant - especially on colder evenings usually late fall or winter. it reminds me of a large cozy German hunting lodge with the decor, fireplaces, taxidermy stuffed animals... As for food, I am a pretty picky eater, and can always find something that I like on the menu - especially from their cheese and meats section. They changed the menu since the last time we were there, my husband really enjoyed his steak (ribeye or strip can’t remember but it was also our server’s favorite) - The service has always been good to very good. Last Friday was no different. Our server was very patient and accommodating. My only issue (and this applies to several restaurants) is that because of size, the way that servers are assigned tables, sometimes just being understaffed, sometimes there can be a bit of a wait. Unfortunately, it always seems to be a inopportune times such as when you’ve ordered another glass of wine with your glass still half - two thirds full knowing that sometimes it takes time - cut to your wine glass has been empty, your dinner is getting cold because you can’t eat your dinner without your wine. It came just as my husband was heading to the bar. The other time is when you’re finished with dinner, your children are tired, and you’re waiting for the check. While I realize that it is hard for the servers to predict how long people take to eat and they don’t want to crowd the customers, and I am an incredibly slow eater (usually have to take the rest home to finish for my family’s sake), but it can be a bit irritating if you’re waiting really long to pay - especially if you’re with tired children. I will say that the server was right on the ball with the to go containers though which always impresses me! Finally, just some advice: if you order something to go, I would double check it to make sure it is correct. This applies to all restaurants.
Our waiter Alex was very slow in taking our order, getting drinks and basic items (I ordered steak and had to wait for 10 minutes after delivered to get a steak knife). Then he had to wait 15-20 minutes to get his attention to ask for the check, then another 10 minutes for him to pick it up and finally another 10-15 minutes for him to return it. The poor service dampened a special celebration for us.
Good food, great service. Tower Oaks always feels like a special outing with friends. Sound level for purposes of conversation wasn't "energetic" -- it was way too loud. We were in what I think is called the tack room -- maybe there is a quieter area if you specify when you make your reservation.
Service was very poor. Food was not as good as it used to be. It was one of of favorite restaurants but I probably will not be coming back
Salt salt salt....
I ordered the meatloaf. In a mixed recipe like this, all the ingredients have salt, then more salt is added to the mixture, then a salty sauce is placed on top. Of course, you can add more salt from the shaker, but why?
Food is always good and service excellent. The interior of the place looks like a hunting lodge.
Great find - an oasis in the busyness of the area?
Great experience. Decibel a bit elevated at times. Delicious food.
The only complaint: the reservation was accepted for 8 adults, but we actually got a booth for 6. The appeared-to-be manager shrugged it off.
Meeting friends we haven’t seen in awhile
Love this place. At a holiday lunch with friends, we had the always yummy crab cake, beef burgundy, and rice bowl. All terrific.
I JUST LOVE CLYDES. IT IS MY GO TO SPOT FOR GATHERINGS WHEN IN TOWN. KEEP IT JUST LIKE IT IS.
Bilen, our waitress was the best. She was aware of all our allergies and took great care about the food we ordered; very pleasant young lady who handled all of our requests amicably. If I was the type to scream from the mountain top, I would do that because our dinner was exceptional because of her attention to our needs.
Food not as good as it used to be.
Our food came out hot and the service was friendly, but even with reservations made weeks in advance we were seated in the bar area which didn't have the greatest ambiance, as it was very loud with people watching TV.
Clyde’s never disappoints! The food and service is always excellent, it’s our go to when friends/family come into town because we know we can count on Clyde’s. Thank you!
Our server Sean was awesome! It was a great place for a romantic celebration.
This is one of the few upscale area restaurants that time after time has cheerfully accommodated my dad whether he’s in a wheelchair or walker — plus has a full bar. So I forgive a lot. The food is fine and although it’s a little noisy we gravitate to the lower barroom where it’s quieter unless the barback is making deliberate noise. This weekend the major complaint was the lobster Newburgh which was way overpriced for the scant tiny and tough morsels of lobster it held. Nor was it in a Newburgh sauce. Maybe a cream sauce. No sherry. No problem except it was $26. What’s a good deal? House wine. Burgers. Salads. Grilled salmon salad especially. Dessert. Just keep being accessible and friendly so we can continue to dine out once in awhile, Clydes! Thank you!
We had dinner at Tower Oaks Lodge prior to a concert at the Kennedy Center and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was very good, as were our drinks, and the service was very friendly and pleasant. The decor is fun and added to our pleasant experience. The valet parking made our arrival easy, in spite of a very cold and unpleasant drizzle outside.
Outstanding, as always. This time took elderly mother to dinner there. perfect.
As usual the dining experience was terrific. The crab cake was full of chunk crab and the Pumpkin cheese cake was 10x better than that which is offered by the restaurant known for Cheesecake,
A great experience!
Excellent service! The entree options could include some healthier choices.
This was the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant in 2018.
The food was fine, but the service made the experience close to poor overall.
