Tower Oaks Lodge
The Great Room is fantastic. The rustic decor is so authentic.
I always enjoy visiting Tower Oaks. The service is wonderful and the food well prepared. Good place to catch-up with a friend. Thanks!
I took my sister, in from Alaska, and my granddaughter for our visit''s "special" dinner. I had told my sister about Tower Oaks Lodge and she and I (unknown to each other at the time) both planned on dinner there. She loved it, as I have for a while. I can't remember our servers name but she was wonderful. Unobtrusive but always seemed to be there when we wanted something. My sister and I both tipped I think it was the biggest tip I ever left (about 55%), that's how much we appreciated the food, service and ambience. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
We have been to this restaurant before and it has never disappointed us. We were pleasantly surprised by an Anniversary dessert.
Went as a prior customer knowing this is a wonderful spot with so many areas to sit in. Great menu and everyone was really satisified whith their choices! Friendly, well versed on menu staff and attention to making sure the specials were mentioned. Will return soon!
Any food brought to the table grilled, tasted like fish oil (and it was not fish). Please clean the grill or keep the fish oils away from the beef and chicken.
Quish, Oysters and Ruben were ok. Disappointed with the omelet, which was runny and watery and the salad, in lieu of fries ( with the Ruben) was dry, no dressing, only a lot of grated cheese.
Maybe better next time.
Sat next to a table of people who were way too loud. Half food came, other half came 10 minutes later. Quiche was not good. Omelet ok. Sandwiches were fair. Eggs benedict was good.
Just continue to love this place. I had a ceaser salad and the day boat scallops and my wife had the haddock. Everything was done to perfection and tasted great. Service was prompt and attentive.
Service was great as always and food was particularly good. Three of us had the baked haddock which was delicious ( I had mashed potatoes instead of rice) plus the chilled shrimp cocktail at half price - a real buy - the cold corn soup plus pasta with shrimp and a steak skewer starter. All was great!
Late night post movie meal w omelette & Reuben hit the spot. Courteous and helpful service despite the late hour
The restaurant was very charming and interesting. The server was terrific and the food was very good. Would definitely return.
On this particular day, the noise level was unbearable. I had to shout across the table to my friend. Also, I got the wrong order. Food is always delicious, however, and the servers are good.
Was a great time! Food was cooked well and the lodge has a very cool atmosphere. Highly recommend.
great ambiance, great service, very nice people who do things the right way and give you a valued experience
Truly outstanding service, not only the wait staff but policies about meal sharing and item substitutions are the BEST we have ever found.
The food and service were very good as usual. The bar does well with our drinks.
Food was good but waiter got order wrong. Had to ask several times for items. Didn't refill water during meal. It was a birthday dinner all they did was say happy birthday but heard other tables being sang to with a birthday desert. Used to be a favorite not anymore. Called next day all manager said hope your meal is better next time. Very poor customer service.
Tonight was so different than all other evenings spent at Clydes. Our server was inept and the food was mediocre. When asked to speak to the manager we were met with a combative waiter. When asked to speak to the chef we were told that he would not be available. Truly an unsatisfactory evening. Won’t be coming back for a while.
The waiter was not good at communication. I gave up trying to order a Virgin specialty cocktail as he didn't seem to know what the word alcohol meant.
There are 4 different themed rooms in this restaurant. They are all great! My favorite is The Lodge with its wood beams, stone fireplaces, and many dead stuffed animals that look like they are watching you. Someone was seated at the next table, but had to leave after a few minutes because he couldn't take the taxidermy; so they moved him to one of the other rooms.
The food was excellent. The server did a great job and the ambience was superb.
This is our weekly "get together for dinner place." I had baked haddock, which was terrific. My friend had the fried whole redfish, which was hard to eat. I don't think she would get it again.
We were seated promptly at the appointed time. Server was friendly and was ready to take our order as soon as we were ready to give it. Boom-boom shrimp was a shared appetizer and enjoyed by all. Hanger steak was voted best entree among our choices. The only negative: no sugar-free dessert offering.
We all love the Great Room of the Tower Oak Lodge. Food was good and price was reasonable.
Everything we had except for raw oysters were “sweet” in overtone. Obviously not all dishes are going to do well as such.
Always a beautiful setting for a meal or special occasion. The ambience is wonderful.
The wine list leaves much to be desired. The food was okay, though seating 5 adult men in a booth, even a large booth is simply a poor choice.
The service was good, however.
Tower Oaks is a great local restaurant with reasonable prices, generally good food, and a variety from which to choose. Blackberry and arugula salad was excellent. Crab cake was delicious. Little disappointed with the eggplant parmesan. Eggplant was overfried - a bit greasy. Service was superb.
Only negative was the service. At end of meal, waiter took our empty plates away and asked if we wanted to look at a dessert menu, at which we replied "No, thank you". After waiting 10 minutes for our check (the dining room was only half-full), I was, finally, able to get his attention and asked for the check.
My wife & I went for brunch.
The Bennies are the way to go.
The food is standard Clydes food. Always good but nothing Gourmet. The service during peak times can be slow but the servers are usually very nice. The great room is still an awesome place to sit. It is truly beautiful. You feel like you’re in the country
Tower oaks lodge is always a good bet- for grandparents, in laws, or happy hour with friends. Brunch is great
We are regulars at Tower Oaks, and we keep going back. It is a great place for a special occasion, the ambiance can't be beat. That said, the service and food are often inconsistent. On our most recent visit, the filet was outstanding, cooked to perfection. However, my husband had the short ribs which were full of gristle, even more so than they normally are. The service was also less than normal. The waiter brought a newer vintage of wine than we ordered, then we were told they were out of the one we ordered. We had to ask for bread in the beginning, and had to ask for the desert menu and coffee. But, we will be back and I still recommend it.
The food was not up to par on this visit. I had the brisket which was fatty, gray in color and generally flavorless. Our booth in the great room was disappointing, right next to the entrance of the room and the serving station. Having someone prep silverware and fold napkins right next to my shoulder did not improve my dining experience. Our waiter was terrific and that somewhat salvaged the night. I think the others in our foursome enjoyed their meals a bit more than I did, but no one gave raves to their pasta dish, chicken wings or reuben sandwich. We've been going to Tower Oaks for a long time and this was the poorest experience overall that we've had there.
Overall, our experience was excellent. In one of the meals at the table, the collard greens were considered too salty.
We had an exceptional experience at Clyde's Tower Oaks this time. We come there about once a month with our best friends. This time we let you know that it was our friend's birthday. The server brought a delicious dessert with a candle to our friend. Also, my husband couldn't decide whether to order the cream of crab soup. He wasn't especially hungry, and he knew he couldn't eat the soup and a full dinner. He decided not to order the bowl of soup. But the server brought him a little cup of soup, just to have a taste. It was delicious. My red snapper was delicious, and beautifully presented. Thank you for giving us a wonderful evening.
Usually food and service is excellent here but tonight the waiter must have been asleep. 45 minutes for our appetizer to arrive then after we finish the waiter come to the table, stacks the dishes and leaves them on the table to take another tables orders.
Great place to have any type of occasion. Great staff and great magagement. We just love clydes at Rockville.
