Tower Oaks Lodge
The food wasn’t as good as it used to be. Very disappointing. The server was very stressed and she seemed to be taking it on the customers. I am so sorry it used to be one of my favorite places to go.
We had a lovely dinner with 8 family members. Celebrating two 97th birthdays and a 94th birthday. The total ages of three people at the table was 288 years. The children and grandchildren made up the other 5 guests. We shared appetizers and desserts - a bottle of wine but had individual entrees. Everyone said: Best birthday celebration ever!
This restaurant is not meeting Clyde's standards. Food is below mediocre. Softshell crab was over-salted. French fries were dry and over-salted. It is the first time ever eating at Clyde's and getting such terrible fries.
Interior and ambiance are great.
Everything was nice. No complaints
Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge always delivers. The oysters are the freshest in town, maybe because they do such a brisk trade in shellfish. We always enjoy as well the handcrafted drinks from the bar. The calamari on this night was perfect, and the fried green tomatoes complimented the whole meal.
Fantastic atmosphere. Strong service. Great food!
Quality service, good food, and wonderful accommodations.
One of the reasons I go to Tower Oaks is because they do a good job of avoiding cross-contamination for those with food allergies. The kitchen is properly trained. Their food is very good and when I go with friends we always linger after our meal and talk. It is comfortable, good food, and usually good service. I will be back.
Perfect business lunch spot. Joel was an outstanding server!
My mom really enjoyed her birthday meal!
Another outstanding experience at the Lodge. Attentive, prompt service. Food comes out hot and always tastes great.
Excellent Sunday Brunch with a great variety of menu items. Everything we ordered was A+ for presentation and taste.
Service was also excellent.
Always great food, service and value!!
Seated quickly. Greeted quickly and friendly. Excellent food and easy ability to talk between ourselves. Great service and knowledgeable waiter. Really good value. Enjoyed the evening.
Very nice evening. Good food and terrific conversation with family together to celebrate a birthday.
We love Clyde’s consistency and quality and have been patrons in Rockville MD for many years. However we did notice some slippage during our recent visit. Not only have the lovely pewter water pitchers disappeared, but the table water was lukewarm. Second, the humus appetizer was a big disappointment , served with pita and only 4 green beans and no other veggies. We were told “it depends what is in season”! Aren’t carrots and celery always in season? We all agreed that Parker House rolls cannot replace the French bread. Finally, our roasted chicken and kale salad would have been more appetizing with a different dressing. The lemon vinaigrette had a strange “off” taste.
We will return but will be hoping for the great quality we have always experienced. The server was kind to remove the humus from our bill, but one customer definitely left hungry.
Good place to celebrate a birthday or to visit with friends
Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and checked on us often. The food was delicious as usual. We enjoyed our get together at Clyde's.
We had a family branch time at our favorite Tower Oaks.:6 adults + toddler +2 month old baby. Our server Andrew was great. He took care of all of us very quickly and professional. Thanks a lot Tower Oaks and Andrew!
I don’t know what is the issue at Clyde’s but it is very inconsistent. Last year we went several times and on the third try, swore it off. A year later, we had 2 good experiences so thought perhaps there was turnover in staff and things improved. I went last week with my son and it was good. This time, we requested the oysters be steamed and they came out warmed on ice. And the odd things my they gave us 11 not the dozen we ordered. However, they did give us 3 oysters. Last week my son ordered the brisket and they served a healthy portion. Based on that I recommended it to my daughters’s boyfriend. It came with collards which were very gritty. The brisket portion was smaller. I had the salmon and it was good. You can order the same dish every time and it will be presented 4 different ways each time. The desserts were fine. This is a local restaurant and I wish it was consistent.
One of my all-time favorite restaurants! Every time I visit, I am seated at a different section of the restaurant (ambience is the same nevertheless), which brings variety into my experience. It is worth the hour-long drive.
The overall dining experience is still exceptional, however I have fears where things are headed. The newer waitstaff are not as friendly and attentive as the “old guard”, the water flasks are gone, and so are the constantly replenished water glasses, and now I guess the complementary bread is also a thing of the past. What’s next? Food quality? If so, you won’t have to worry about how much money you saved during each of our meals, because we’ll be dining elsewhere.
The nachos were amazing! We tried the crab tower too - it was awesome. Molly was a great server. The room we were in had a lot of nice natural light and had the "lodgy" feel. I think it's a good place for a large group because there are so many seating options. We'll likely return.
Clifton , our server, was excellent!
I was impressed how fast they serve our order. This is our third time to eat here. I’m definitely coming back.
We have never, ever gone wrong at Clyde's Tower Oaks. The food is always excellent, the service always impeccable.
Has been one of our favorites but this visit was somewhat disappointing as the portions are noticeably smaller and prices are higher. Ok if the value is there but not sure that’s the case presently. Service was excellent (Anileielle W). Favorites seem to be disappearing from the menu ... glad still able to get one of our favorite.
Also, miss the cold ice water we used to get !!!
Had a brand new waiter... He was great. Food was not as good as I had hoped but it might just have been what I ordered. Would definitely try this restaurant again.
Great food !! Great service
Dining room is out dated . Big table in center of room is just unnecessary . Food was fair , nothing special . Service was good. They are riding on name only .
When asking if we can move from a booth to a table the host was very rude.
What a delightful brunch. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the view through the window of the Great Room. Thank you!
Not a good experience this time in the dining room. Service was lax, server was inexperienced,
food was mismanaged--overall, a very disappointing time.
Super! The food was outstanding! Thank you CHEF!
The service was great. We got the Great Room we wanted!!!!
We were proud to show off the place to our guests :)
Poor menu choices! My food Falafel sandwich was barely cooked. Surprisingly different experience from previous time ! What happened with this excellent restaurant ???? Anyone know ?
Service was poor at best from start to finish and this was not a busy evening for this restaurant. Not all tables were full. It was though the good servers were on vacation and were replaced by new hires and under trained staff.
Too bad because we were a table of ten spending real money and was a special birthday celebration. One of the worst experiences we have had at any Clydes' restaurant.
Food was excellent and our waiter was wonderful, he was very friendly and always smiling. Couldn't ask for better service.
The chef at Tower Oaks Lodge is firing on all cylinders. Creative delicious meal. Peach & cheese soup. Amazing crab cakes served on a bed of creamed corn. Combine with impeccable service. Great deal.
As always, Tower Oaks Lodge is the place to be. Friendly, courteous, always there for you and the food is outstanding.
I do not like surveys that force you to write a review. Why can’t the selected answers suffice. My experience was great until this.
