Great food and service.....half price oysters and wine great bonus.
Tower Oaks has become our go to for family celebrations. The food is consistently goo and fairly priced. The service is a notch above. The decor in the Great Room is a wonderful simulation of a place we wished we would have gone to.
Love TO, BUT, today eggs Benedict came with runny “medium” eggs and burned English muffins.
Great place , best restaurant ever . I’m coming back for sure.
Great for a family dinner. We love this restaurant and highly recommend it! The service is excellent and the food is good. :)
My ‘go to’ place for visitors from out of town who don’t want to deal with the hassle of finding a place in DC. Our server graciously accommodated our group, to include small children and those well on in years, it was just what I hoped for.
Very good food as usual and the service was too. The atmosphere is excellent.
As usual, Tower Oaks never disappoints. After many dining experiences there, I always marvel at how delightful the menu is, how effective the staff are, and how I'm brought back to the feeling of the "the Lodge" when visiting. Art work that pleases, special rooms with an amazing ambiance, and, of course, creative dishes. Keep up the good work!
It is one of my favorite restaurants in the area due to the food and ambiance
Wait staff was excellent! Very attentive and thoughtful with a special dessert for us to share as we celebrated our son’s visit home from out of state.
Excellent as always. Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere. Love it!
Cool restaurant. Great vibe and funky decor. Love the place and the food is great.
The Lodge is a special place — if you are seated in The Great Room. Their fish and crab cakes are excellent. If you don't want the sides that come with the entree, just ask and they will substitute others.
Our regular weekly meeting spot. Great service. Good food.
The vegetarian pasta dish was disappointing, dry and stringy, but the rest of the experience was aces.
The French fries were not fresh and that limits the taste. The mushroom and asparagus salad were rather bland, with mushrooms missing the woodsy flavors so common to morels and the limited number of tiny asparagus didn't lend much flavor either. The cupcake of the day was sweet but the citrus bland, but the bread pudding was great.
Somehow with less than a full house, and with no demands on the customers' part, the kitchen didn't seem quite on the mark. Too bad with lots of good memories of Cylde's all around.
I have been a Clyde’s customer since coming to DC in 1973. Over the past 5 years the food has steadily gone downhill. It used to be a restaurant that one could count on getting a good meal, no more. One thing that has stayed the same is the special ambiance of each of the restaurants.
Everything was great from the coffee to the last bite but i really wish we had a different server. The person that assisted us had such an attitude that for in instant my husband wanted to leave. The desert menu that he offer was folded in his pocket and looked like somebody chew it previously and when was time for the check he latterly drop it on the table like trash.we’ve been coming for years and never been treated like this before !
Beautiful restaurant set in a wooded reserve. Service was attentive and friendly. Excellent drinks and food. Thanks for a fun night out !
our dinner was all served and presented well. Most of our meal was delicious, I will I had talked to my waitress more on my dish. I wanted fish but not fried and I didn't ask question about my confusion on another fish dish which I didn't know what some of the ingredients were. I wished our waitress could more talkative about the menu sometimes it's hard to decide. some I'll put on my reluctance to ask more questions.
what bothered me most was this was the 2nd time my husband Credit card was not returned. He is a very efficient person so him not putting into his wallet is vey unlikely in fact he has never left card any where except at your restaurant. Maybe there needs to be a better check system to cc especially in this day and age where we use all the time. We want to feel comfortable coming there and knowing someone is not collecting our CC information while they are putting a charge through.
Asked for a table vs. a booth and they said they were sold out of tables by the time I sent in the request. Were seated in a booth next to the bar where it became so noisy that you couldn't really have a good conversation.
I don't even need to look at the menu, because I almost always order the special treat of a crabcake at Clyde's. It was delicious as always, with lots of crabmeat and hardly any filler. What I liked in particular was the different presentation, with the crabcake served on a bed of quinoa and shreds of carrots and asparagus. It was light, easy to eat, just right. I like all the rooms, but especially enjoy the atmosphere of the Adirondack room where we ate. Service was great, too: enough attention but not too much.
We absolutely love going to Clyde's! This location is particularly cozy. They did an amazing job at setting the mood with the lodge theme and the native american decor. You genuinely feel as though you are eating in the mountains. They have a nice selection of food and tend to customers with allergies and dietary restrictions when needed. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Although it's definitely not cheap, it's worth the splurge. Plus if you are looking for something a little more casual, they have two bars with friendly bar tenders and bar food.
Tower Oaks... terrific...again! Always enjoy our visits there. Friends introduced us to the Lodge several years ago, and we keep going back.
The atmosphere, the food and service are equal to many more expensive eateries.
To mention a few favorites: pickle jar, cream of crab soup, devils on horseback, crab cakes, steaks, fish are always fantastic!
We will return soon,
I have gone to Clyde’s for years and this one has a nice ambiance with consistent food and service. Always a good option.
Love this restaurant. Lots of family events and good times. Food and staff are excellent. You can’t go wrong whatever the occasion!
Usually excellent food but my entree was served five minutes after that of my guest.
Was as if had been forgotten and salmon was not cooked, only seared. Not edible.
Fabulous local gem-- great variety, quality food, ambiance and waitservice. Brice was awesome.
Food was excellent as always. Service was good.
It is a Clyde's restaurant so food is well done and plentiful, but not usually outstanding. Service can be a bit spotty: pushy or not attentive. This lunch was comfortable, but a bit busy with the waiter to present.
We enjoyed brunch for 8 on Sunday afternoon. The menu was very extensive and included typical reakfase fare as well as sandwiches and other entres. The food was very good and the service was quite attentive to our needs. All in all it was a good experience that pleased the various age groups represented: kids to seniors.
We have a family member who lives in Europe who insists on going every time she visits. She loves the Reuben.
Unfortunate that they no longer offer specials. Service good. Seating in some booths can be tight/uncomfortable. Next time will ask to sit at table with chairs.
Except for a rude receptionist at the front desk, the service and the meal were very good as usual.
Excellent food and service. We were promptly seated and our server was attentive, but not overly attentive. A different take on the carrot cake.
What was so lovely...and important...was were were able to talk! Noise level is non existent. Food was delicious and very reasonable.
Actually, we were there twice. Once for early dinner and our waiter, Eugene, was excellent and fun. We had lots of comfort food appetizers and nice entrees/sandwiches. The Sausage Rigatoni was marvelous. The Breakfast Burger is astounding! Who would have guessed they make such a thing. The hot turkey sandwich was moist and tasty.
We then return at 10 PM to stay, drink, play cards and wait for Midnight for our friend's daughter to turn 21 and have here first drink with her and her crowd. Wally was our waiter and we ran him ragged with drinks and shots and hilarity.
Was good except happy hour has been changed
Not going back
