Good place and environment but the menu is always the same
Food was tasty and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive!
Parents in town, perfect for all ages
Great restaurant. Each section of the restaurant has a different lodge theme. We love it! Tower Oaks is our go to for a family special event. Something on the menu for all tastes.
Wonderful. We had a great time. Enjoyed the crowd. Stayed longer than usual because everything was so nice.
We had a large family group but the room was a bit loud for the older members to be able to hear conversation. Next time I will ask if there is a quieter alternative.
The waiter was a mute, bread was cold took almost 2hours to receive our dinner, the food was season to high. The noise level were very loud, besides that it was suppose to be nice and warm inside but the air was cold like outside. By far this was the worst food and service I had while dining out with my partner.
We were seated immediately in the room we had requested in the reservation. Service was prompt. My first cosmopolitan was a bit low in volume despite being poured tableside. The waitress said she would let the bartender know. I guess that's all they thought was needed there. The second one was fine.
Appetizer crab/artichoke dip was good, served with warm bread but not enough. We asked for and we're given more.
Dinners were also pleasing. I loved my cheeseburger, with grilled onion and mushrooms, and a side salad that was satisfactory. My son enjoyed the 14 oz steak with mac and cheese. For the price we thought it should come with 2 sides. Hubby had chicken liver and a beer, he noted prices were considerably higher than our last visit 10 months ago.
For dessert we all enjoyed sharing the Nutella shake. One of my favorite menu items.
Overall we love the ambience but find Gordon Biersch a much better value with comparable food.
For special occasions we love Tower Oaks.
My friend and I went there to celebrate her birthday. We had delicious lunch and the waiter brought her a complimentary piece of cake with a candle in it. So thoughtful! It is a delightful setting and we will return.
I've always had excellent food and service here. It is my go-to choice for special occasions and out of town visitors.
an excellent choice for brunch. The only negative was what they call try to positively spin as an "energetic" noise level, a euphemism for WAY TOO NOISY. It is impossible to hear what anyone who isn't sitting right next to you says, and even the people next you are hard to hear sometimes. There must be something queer about the acoustics. Granted, this is worst when the place is full which it usually is, but still, something should be done. This would not be good to go on a date or to have a reunion of friends with whom one actually wants to talk to.
Also, the slice of birthday cake was appreciated.
Love the place. Excellent service all around and a special thank you as I made a reservation for the wrong date. The staff did not even blink and made sure we were seated. Thanks!
Tower Oaks never fails to satisfy. Food is consistently delicious, service is always professional and with your choice of ambiance in a lodge type setting what more could you ask? Great for date night in the bar or dinner in front of one of 3 fireplaces. Hunt Room provides a hit of elegance for those so disposed. But go for the food!
As always, Tower Oaks Lodge made for a fun and delicious 75th birthday brunch for my lifelong and best friend. Our service was outstanding.
We found the greeter at the front desk had very poor bedside manners. There was an unfriendly and not welcoming, military-like inquiry about arrival of all guests for the table. No one at the front desk had a smile or exuded any cordiality. It was not a holiday and throughout brunch we noted many surrounding empty tables. A more laidback attitude for a casual Saturday brunch seems a better approach. That said, our server was fabulous and accommodating. It may have just been an off day. Previous visits have been much more pleasant.
Food and service was great. Everyone thought their meals were delicious.
We love Tower Oaks and come at least 2-3 times a month, between reservations, last minute showing up, and bar seats, this was probably at the bottom of our experiences. We were seated right when we arrived and greeted by our server right away. We generally knew what we wanted so we placed our orders with him within two minutes. It was a Friday night but did not seem overly crowded. Our appetizer came out over 20 minutes later, and was missing a side of carrots/celery that we asked for. Then it took an additional 20 minutes after we finished our app to get our meal. I was very hungry so I was not so happy with how long it took (which is unusual for Tower Oaks).
Finally, when ordering my husband asked for mashed potatoes instead of the sweet potatoes that came with his dish, and an extra side of the mac and cheese. When our bill came out we were charged for both the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as a "signature side" meal which was an additional $12, instead of the $5 (or so) for the extra side of mac and cheese.
Our server was really nice about the time and the errors but it left a bad experience. We will be back but I hope that it is back to the usual wonderful experiences.
I love the Adirondacks theme at the Lodge. I feel it is a very special place to go. The food is delicious and prices are reasonable
Average quality food, overpriced - paying $20 for one crab cake is way too much
Only complaint about this wonderful restaurant is that some side items ( e.g. bread rolls) are only available for dinner and not for lunch.
Met with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. We were in the back in a booth. We spent almost 3.5 hours there eating and catching up. Our server was very good. Around when we needed him, away while we were talking. The food is consistency good there. We'll be back!
I've been to other Clyde's before, some a great, some are not so, but this one is a real gem. I loved everything about it, starting from the beautiful entrance gate. The exterior and interior are very nice, the food is just great, service is very friendly, and the prices are amazingly moderate. We came for pre-theater dinner, and then we returned for dessert after the theater.
I had perhaps the best French Dip I have ever enjoyed. Flavorful, loaded with sauted onions and a salad vice the standard fries. A spinach artichoke dip was shared and was outstanding. To top it all of, our waiter Felix, was anticipating every thought and had a personality to match his attention to detail. We will be back.
While my meal mates dinners were good mine was cold and tasteless. It was the hot turkey sandwich. The decor needs freshening and cleaning. I’m sorry to see this place deteriorate.
Service is always excellent! I had a crab cake and pear & blue cheese salad. Perfect. And my husband had the beef stew - couldn’t finish all the mashed potatoes! We always enjoy our meals 🎯
I had my dozen oysters as usual and the Brunswick Stew. I am pleased it's stew time.
Yummy! Food was delicious. Desserts were wonderful!
I have been to Clydes at Tower Oaks and have been pleased with each meal, the setting/ambience, and the service. I have requested certain seating and each time, my request has been honored which I very much appreciate. Great spot for any meal, not just lunch. Highly recommend with a diverse menu and warm atmosphere too.
This restaurant is like warm comfort food on a chilly day. Love the ambiance, food, and service.
Clyde's usually doesn't disappoint, but this time it was close. It started as we were being seated. The host (zero personality) led us to our table and held out our menus in silence. After realizing we were supposed to take the menus and pass them around to the six people at our table, we obliged. He turned and mumbled "Enjoy your meal" as he walked away. Half our table was seated where the setting sun shone so brightly, they were practically blinded. When we mentioned this to the waiter, rather than offer us another table, he said "Unfortunately there is nothing we can do. There are no blinds on the windows. It will get better in about 20 minutes." My son's silverware was crusted with old food and his water glass had a 2 inch crack in it. Luckily, once we got past all those obstacles, the waiter proceeded to give us good service and the food was delicious as always. The ambiance, warm and comfortable, is also one of the reasons I enjoy dining at Clyde's.
The food is slightly above average and while the brunch menu isn't super creative, it does offer something for everyone. My mother in law ordered the ham, cheddar, and spinach quiche but the one they brought out looked more like a southwest quiche and was too spicy for her to eat. When we called the server's attention to it, he went back to the kitchen and brought out the right one. French toast, Belgian waffles, and kids pancakes all met (but did not exceed) expectations.
The biggest problem we had was with our table. We had four adults, one elementary aged child, and one infant in a carrier. They seated us at a 6-person booth with long benches. I had to be on the one end to care for the baby. Unfortunately, my mother in law just had knee replacement surgery and can't scoot into a long booth and my father in law has several orthopedic issues (as well as a bit of a belly) and couldn't fit into the booth without significant pain. I returned to the host stand to ask if there were any non-booth options and was told no, however, as I walked back to my table, I saw several other tables that could accommodate our group that were empty. They offered to bring a chair to the end of the table so my father in law could sit there but then the baby would have had to be away from us and we would have 3 people on one side of the booth, 1 person on the other side of the booth, and 1 person at the head of the table. Eventually, my father in law just squeezed in but was in pain for most of the meal and didn't really enjoy it.
Loved everything - pork chops, crab cake, marinated brick chicken, apple crisp, chocolate ganache cake -but the coffee. Bitter, even with cream and sugar.
Thank you for another great meal at the Tower Oaks Lodge. My family and I always have fun here because we know the food and the services are consistently excellent. Two thumbs up for the crème brulee.
Great place for family meals, particularly good kids menu (salmon, pb&j, etc.), solid service, and interesting drinks.
Our waiter, Bruce, was the best!
I had the beef stew, which was excellent, but miss the meatloaf, the liver&onions, and the iceberg wedge salad of past menus.
Colby was amazing! He exhibited everything I look for in a server exceptionally. We stayed a bit longer than we normally would-unbeknownst to anyone, my mother, daughters and myself were celebrating my late father’s birthday. Colby never rushed us or made us feel like we overstayed our welcome. He assisted us multiple times with wifi login, menu questions (I wanted old menu items) and kept the entire meal moving seamlessly. His extensive menu and hospitality knowledge was a breath of fresh air. Thank you, Colby and Clyde’s for an amazing evening out!
Tower Oaks Lodge is a great neighborhood restaurant. It can fill any reason for going out to dinner, from meeting friends, Sunday Brunch, or a nearby place to dine. They do a great job in providing a variety on their menu and the ambiance is very nice. Definitely will continue to dine there.
