Been going her for years. Have to say in the past year or two the front desk staff appear less than friendly, no smiles or greeting, silently pass you off to the person who is seating you. Everything gets better from there. Our server was very pleasant, friendly and efficient, which is generally our experience here. Some of us had the Shrimp and Grits, others had the Chesapeake eggs Benedict, traditional Eggs Benedict and French Toast. The the food was excellent, not a morsel left on anyone's plate.

Our first time here out of what will be many times I expect in the future. Fabulous decor and we all got the same entre'--pan fried parmesan trout filet with a kind of béarnaise sauce and sauté broccolini and potatoes. It was delicious. I took off one star because I'm pretty sure the fish was not pan sauté but deep fried or sautéd such that oil covered it completely (I am a chef). So the fish was a tiny bit overdone to my taste but the coating was marvelous and the dish well made. Call me picky if you will. Also my martini was not quite cold enough--needed more chilling in the shaker by the waiter. But these issues were not serious and just knocked the meal off from perfect to excellent. The price point is fairly high (entre ~$30-40+) so I kind of want it perfect. :-) This restaurant will be one I take visitors to frequently and I look forward to tasting other dishes on its extensive menu. I felt like I was eating in a great lodge in the Adirondack Mountains near where I lived for 40 years. Great time.

Food and service are excellent. Clydes Tower Oaks has been consistently good over the years. We usually enjoy the parmesan encrusted trout but this time I splurged on a couple of delicious crabcakes. The cupcakes that we had for dessert were tasty but too small.

Had a wonderful Birthday celebration with friends. The waiter was excellent as was the food. The noise level in the back dining room was very acceptable. A wonderful experience for us and our guests.

The service was great, attentive but not cloying! Always fun to dine in the great room with all the fishing and hunting lodge paraphernalia. And the food was really good, better than it has been in a while (has there been a kitchen staff change?). Best gazpacho I can ever remember having - everything was tasty and fresh.

Usually the wait staff is highly trained and super pleasant. This time we were unlucky and had a waitress that really was in no mood to be pleasant. Perhaps she was having a bad day. And maybe all the regular great wait staff were on summer vacation or headed back to college. It affected our dining experience. The other thing is the music. As a musician myself I can appreciate a broad range of music. But it seemed like we were stuck maybe on the Sirius 70’a punk channel, which is fine in small doses, but not for an entire dining experience. I’m wondering if this choice is made by ownership, management or just someone working in the kitchen or bar.

Enjoyed a great time with friends. The open table system in the restaurant couldn’t find my account which vas slightly frustrating. But it all worked out in the end.
