Tower Oaks Lodge
We had such an amazing waitress...she helped make our experience truly wonderful.
Wonderful place to go with family members and with friends...wonderful way to spend catch up with friends and have special conversations along with eating very good food.
Our server (Elise) was great - fulfilling all our required needs, without being overbearing. We love the Stash tea selection, coffee cake, side of Brussels sprouts (the pomegranates in it make it amazingly delicious) and shrimp and grits. The Juevos Rancheros were pretty overpriced, but everything else was great.
The Lodge always has excellent food and they didn't disappoint. Our waiter was inpectable - courteous, professional and timely. Of note, new focaccia bread was a big hit at our table. The 4 stars come from my steak being slightly over cooked, not to the degree that I returned it. Yet, I was not able to fully enjoy my "rare" consumption of red meat.
What was surprisingly disappointing was the hostess. She was rude and short when I questioned the delay, as it was 15 minutes past our reservation time. Turns out she dailed/entered the wrong phone number and therefore, I was not receiving the page - no apology after it became readily apparent who was responsible for delay.
My husband and I came here for dinner. Although the restaurant and bar area were extremely busy we were served our meals and beverages in a timely fashion. All items came out as ordered and our server was very polite and professional.
Great table service. Server was very attentive.
Our server, Michael k. was outstanding. Food was very good. Had a great time.
We will be back.
Michaela offered great personable service.
Amazing hidden secret! Tower Oaks has become one of my favorite places! Outstanding service and the chefs are incredible! Sauces , bread, and dessert second to none. Every dish I have tried has been top notch. Great management team! Attentive but not intrusive. Lovely atmosphere!
It's a hit and miss type of thing at Tower Oaks. Sometimes the service is outstanding, some times not so good. Our last waiter seemed like she was doing me a favor waiting on us. We could not find the usual oysters we order (Wellfleet). We asked the waiting to recommend something similar. She seemed to have got upset when we asked her about that. The oysters we chose were horrible. Because we go to Tower Oaks frequently, so we were looking for something different. So when we asked the waitress whether there were any specials, we were chastised. She emphatically stated: whatever it is on the menu is what we serve. Period! Come on, let's be a little nice. The whole evening was filled with events like that. No bread was bought to the table, and had to keep asking for things over and over again. It was annoying. We are looking for another restaurant in the area.
Overall had a wonderful and great experience. Unfortunately my wife got sick immediately afterward. We determined it may have been the spinach since that was the only thing on her plate I did not try. None of the rest of us had any issues (kids and mother-in-law). We would still very much recommend this place because the service and staff were excellent. No worries as my wife felt better by the next day. This was my first time coming here and I would definitely return.
Best happy hour. Sat in booth at bar. Made a full meal out of it. Half price raw bar, $5 off burgers, $2 off apps, $3 off wines. Always great food, service and atmosphere.
Food was great, had the catfish which was presented in such an attractive way. What I had an issue with is the silverware and the glassware were presented very dirty. Had to change out twice and have them wash new dishes. Otherwise it was good.
Great ambiance, great service and value
Everything was amazing for our Valentines Day dinner!
Excellent food and excellent service. Our server, Elise (I hope I've spelled her name correctly) was excellent.
Awesome time the waiter was on point!
Good food, great service, reasonable prices for the ambience and fare.
Menu not as good as used to be. Had the salmon dinner which was cooked fine but lacked taste. The sides did not appeal so switch wit haddock dinner. Not many people eat swish chard and Brussels sprouts. Dessert was tasty but hard to mess up brownie sundae. Other desserts were not appealing.
Elisse was fantastic......PLEASE try to get more people like her!!! Food was really good too! Thanks for a GREAT Valentines experience!
Great place to celebrate a special occasion such as an anniversary, birthday etc. The place feels like you are out in the country.
The raw bar oysters were yummy!
All was very pleasurable. The desk people acknowledged our presence and wished us a happy anniversary, as did others along the line. The waitress was very cordial and pleasant. We were watched over many times. The other item that impressed us was the amount of food. We could not eat all that food at one time. We had to take half home. The food was delicious and the price surprised me, that is, it was respectable. I have been there before, but when someone else was paying the bill. It was my turn. We enjoyed our night at Clyde's.
This restaurant was chosen with the specific wish of "ambience" in mind... and in delivered in spades!!! Never have I been in a space so full yet so quiet - kudos to the interior designer.
The food and service was definitely "old school ", but exactly what was called for as this was our Valentine's Day dinner. We were also amazed at the extent of this place; three areas plus bar - again, you could hear each other whisper! We will definitely revisit... probably as a holiday treat Easter/Thanksgiving/Christmas!!!
The food is amazing and the service great. Servers help out with any questions you have. The price of food is really fair when taking into account how great the quality is.
The food was terrific this visit. I wish that there were more dessert options for lactose intolerant people.
Love this place especially for a birthday celebration. Ambiance is the best and our server Eugene took such good care of us. Food can be hit or miss but I still highly recommend Clyde's of Tower Oaks.
Great service and food was very good.
We have enjoyed Tower Oaks Lodge many times. Tonight we had the fried pickle appetizer and shrimp cocktail with were both very good. I ordered the French Dip and had to send it back. It was rubbery. I then asked for a tuna melt which was not very good. The waiter may have had too many tables, he was not very attentive. My husband's fish was ok. We probably need to stick to meat dishes.
As usual,an excellent place to dine. There are other great restaurants I’ve gone to,but always seem to wind up at Tower Oaks for a great dining experience every time!!!!
Always good and a value. Clydes is always dependable. Never disappoints.
Another great meal at Clydes Tower Oaks. Went for a late dinner. I had the baked haddock and my wife had an open face turkey sandwich platter. We were lucky to have Haley as our server, she was outstanding. Food was excellent as usual.
The special accommodations request I made on open table - while acknowledged by the hostess (no booth since my parents are 88) - was disregarded. With dad in a walker we were taken to far corner of restaurant and offered a booth. I asked for table and was refused. Hostess never came around to resolve . I wrote online letter to manager following day. No response . We have been coming to Clyde’s tower oaks since the opened. Expected better from them as my party (their most loyal customers) age .
The experience from ambiance to the food was delightful.
We all had the Guinness stew - wow. Too bad they don’t have it all year round.
Excellent food and it was quiet! Our waiter didn’t charge for my dessert because I was celebrating my birthday, which was very generous of the restaurant
Our party of four had a wonderful time. From entering the door to being recognized, reservations found instantly, to being welcomed and seated, all were excellent. Our pace of service to our needs was respected, drinks and food all as good as expected. Wonderful experience. I felt like I was dining at LLBean, Bass ProShop or one of the wonderful rustic ski lodges I have come across out West. Prices were appropriate for our Sunday brunch, with portions not crazy but more than enough to eat. The half-price bloody mary and mimosas were a nice surprise and the other drinks prepared well.
We will be back. The restaurant was vibrant at noon that day, and if you like that rustic type of setting, you should have little to worry about. thanks to the staff...
Nice and warm place! 100% recommended!!!
The service was a little bit slow because the restaurant was full of people, but the waiter was a lovely person who made all he could do to bring our food fast.
Best waiter ever!
As usual a go-to spot. We did not finish our meals and the server boxed up the leftovers. I accidentally left the box on the table and returned ten minutes later when I realized my error. The server was kind enough to put the box off to the side instead of just trashing it as has happened at other restaurants. Just another example of doing the right thing. Thanks.
Terrible service, we were an afterthought! A birthday dinner and our waiter was so rushed. He kept apologizing telling us he was swamped. Understaffed and felt as if we were in the cafeteria. Waited 20 min for a desert menu so we left. Awful place
