Tower Oaks Lodge
Great food! We celebrated a birthday, too! It's been an annual tradition and was even better this year since all our children were there! Love the lobster!!
Took Mom and My sweet Pea out to dinner!
My guest and I had a delightful lunch. When we arrived at 12:30 the restaurant was relatively empty; however, when we finished, almost every table was occupied. The food was excellent, the service was prompt and we were able to discuss our business comfortably. I dine at Tower Oaks Lodge with some frequency because my office is quite nearby, and I enjoy dining there.
Lobster dinner is always a great treat- well done.
The food (lobster specials) were well cooked and excellent. The waiter and service were not as what I would expect from Clyde’s. The wait time to order and then the wait time for food to arrive (both entrees and dessert) seemed longer than would usually be expected. Additionally, the waiter, while he got most everything correct (including issues with diet restrictions)... neglected to correctly identify or confirm an order of a salad as an appetizer and assumed it was a substitution. He also came across as somewhat glib during the introduction, ordering process, and handling diet restrictions questions. Nor was he seemingly available or present in the dining room (Great Room) during the meal (but that meant at least there weren’t interruptions our meal).
Very disappointed in the service tonight.
Food was not terrific, at 7:15 we were told they had run out of bread. Then we ordered the fried green tomatoes $ 8.99 received a serving with 5- 1/2 slices which were less than one quarter inch thick and swimming in grease (should have just sent back)!!! Half salads ok. Lobster was luke warm, coleslaw was less than an ounce, certainly not a serving. Fries were the best part of the meal. Then the server rang up some one else's bill using our gift certificate and credit card, which we had to bring to her attention. Not a good experience over all.
Very disappointing as we used to enjoy going there frequently on Monday nites.
We've come to Tower Oaks Lodge several times. We especially like the quiet atmosphere; we can hear and hold a conversation with the people at our table. Many times, we find restaurants uncomfortably noisy.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Exceptional service, excellent ambience, and good food made for the perfect dinner to celebrate our son's confirmation.
We've been coming to the lodge for years. It's one-of-a-kind restaurant and always a special experience for first timers. A great all-around restaurant for special occasion, families, date night, business dinners. We've been there more times than we can count and will keep coming.
Good location, just like country side.
And old-fashioned decorations are also nice and prefect for atmosphere outside.
Off course, Dishes are very good!
While the service was excellent and the food was very good, our seating arrangement was horrible which tainted the entire experience.
I made reservations for 6 people through Open Table several days in advance, but apparently making a reservation in advance at this restaurant does not guarantee a decent table. We were seated in a booth barely large enough for 6 people to be comfortable so my Aunt had to sit in the aisle on her Rollinator (rolling walker that folds down to a very uncomfortable chair). When we asked if we could be reseated at a table with chairs we were told that the only other option was another booth so we stayed put.
To add insult to injury, we had been seated in one of the bar areas while a Redskins/Cowboys game was being televised on at least 3 TV’s. Needless to say it did not take long for the bar to fill up with loud, obnoxious, drunk football fans. Not really conducive to trying to catch up with family and friends over a Sunday brunch.
In the future, if I ever decide to come back to Tower Oaks Lodge I will make sure I call in my reservation and specifically ask for a table large enough to accommodate 6 people and NOT in or near the bar. If that is an impossible request, we will go elsewhere.
The food was very good but service can be better. I asked for bread but was told that only coffee cakes were served on Sunday and no options were offered when I knew sandwiches were served.
Other restaurants are more accommodating.
Skip the summer Cobb salad.
Would recommend with important reservation, namely that they must be seated far away from back bar room. The noise level there was terrible and actually grew worse over the course of our meal, making it virtually impossible to carry on a conversation at our dinner table. Hence I cannot rate our outing as highly as it would otherwise be, given the high quality of the food.
It was a nice experience for the birthday girl and guests who have nvr been here before... they truly enjoyed this restaurant
The service was way below Clyde’s standards. It was slow to have someone to acknowledge my presence, my drink order was delayed but excellent after arrival. I ordered a lobster which came very quickly WITHOUT a bib or any utensils to use for the lobster which was excellent. The server did comp my dessert without any request from me.
The “hostess” greeted me by telling me that I did not have a reservation. Of course I am standing there with my Open Table confirmed reservation. I specifically asked not to be in the Great Room, and that is where she took me. I refused so we had to return to the desk so I could have another placement.
You can check on my past experiences because I have been enjoying the Clyde’s Restaurant Group since the first week it began in Georgetown. I always enjoy being there. It is truly a neighborhood jewel wherever it is located. Please do not allow the
Graham ownership change this wonderful restaurant group! I shall look forward to my next visit so I can write my usual reviews!!!
Our waiter Hernon was so polite and attentive and really made our visit very pleasant. The food is always good !
I enjoyed my steak and the creamed spinach was excellent. My husband had the salmon and he only moderately enjoyed it. If you like sweet tea they do offer simple syrup as a sweetener. The restaurant is beautiful decorated in a cabin theme.
Tower Oaks is always reliable for good food and service. We enjoyed the lobsters and always like the various monthly specials that crop up during the year. Their use of seasonal produce is great and to that we loved their tomato tart. Further, they source many of their ingredients from local suppliers!
Tower Oaks never disappoints! Wonderful ambiance, menu and service!
Went for the lobsters and was not disappointed. They were perfectly prepared and served. Just about everything that night was perfect. I tried the mini app of dates wrapped in bacon with a spicy jam and it was one of the most wonderful treats in my mouth in ages. My husband has always loved the ahi tuna appetizer and was disappointed it was no longer available. He got a bowl of the lobster soup, and I will say that was a bit disappointing-a little too runny, almost no lobster. But overall, we had a marvelous dinner. Thanks for a great evening.
Too much noise. Requested a table was given a booth (handicapped senior citizens). Beans with entrees were way under cooked.
Wonderful experience as usual. Clyde’s does it right again.
Love celebrating birthdays there, they are so accommodating! I only wish they had more round tables for groups.
Yes, with some reservations. Reception and waitress service was excellent. One person in our party ordered the petite fillet, medium rare and it arrived well done! Fries were cold.
Love this place! Bring back pickled apps, everything good.
I got so much food and enjoyed every piece! The oysters were so damn fresh. The oyster shooters were sooo good. Definitely coming back.
Every time we come here we say the same thing - it’s okay. This time was the same. Except on half price wine night they had two out of six bottles of Chardonnay available. Both were.....okay. Our waitress was lovely and very sweet, though.
It always serves good food and is comfortable. Love the lobster special!
Good food great atmosphere
This was a great brunch; the lodge seems to be a hidden gem. Usually you can't do brunch in the DMV without a reservation, but there plenty of open tables
Classic place, the addition was only $47 for everything my mom and I ordered and it was her birthday. It is so much affordable for such a beautiful and classy place.
Gorgeous atmosphere, but overpriced for what you get.
Fam get together
Great food and service as always
Food was exceptionally good, great wait staff and we shared a lovely table in the GREAT Room, my favorite.
Excellent service, not great food! We always go to this location of Clyde's and over time the menu quality is dwindling down. The service fortunately has stayed impeccable!
Great vibe and interiors - happy and quick service. Will be back again !
Tower Oaks delivers time and time again. This time it was lobster special month. I had email them to ask when it would start -- and they replied so we could make the reservation and snag lobster. The service was amazing. And as this dinner was an anniversary, they comped us dessert. Love Tower Oaks!
