Tout Va Bien Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic traditional French cuisine at very reasonable prices. I was just in Paris and the food here equals the quality and is a better value. Skate was cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce and beautiful presentation. Very pleasant staff. A great dining experience.
Better than ever and I have been eating at Tout Va Bien for over 30 years. I hadn't been in a long time so I didn't know what to expect. But I had no need to be worried. The food is magnificent and it is quiet and small and it is now my "go to" place again, after all these years.
My family has been going to this restaurant for ages, and we are now enjoying taking our adult kids. Food is authentic and excellent, service very friendly and efficient, great festive ambiance, with owners Jean Pierre and Monique very pleasant and making you feel at home. Good wine selection with recommendations from our waitress spot on. All this topped off by reasonable prices. This is the very definition of a hidden gem!
Service was ridiculously slow waiting over 25min between appetizer and main course. And since seeing a play we barely got to eat main course. At least restaurant took some of drinks off due to delay but the slow service ruined what otherwise would have been a great dinner
🇬🇧iIs a restaurant with almost 70 years in NY, needs a little update in furniture. the service is good, and the food is acceptable. is an ok option if you are in Time Square.
🇪🇸Es un Restaurant con casi 70 años en NY, le falta un poco de inversión en el mobiliario. El servicio es bueno, y la comida es aceptable. Es una buena opción si estás en los alrededores.
we had a great time
everything we ordered was through the roof great
we always had something to eat but we were there for two hours
beyond smiley staff
owner came over for a little French talked which we failed
but the next day my brain had caught up and I was ready for a talk (too late)
we felt very taken care of and happy
got to go back
We try to visit each time we are in the City. It is our favorite French Bistro. I love the escargot and the French wines are wonderful. We ordered 2 different dishes and shared. The Coq au Vin was terrific.
The only drawback was that Duck was not on the menu that night. It is usually just a special. But it is my choice whenever it is available. They brought us a white mousse dessert gratis which was a surprise and delicious !
Fabulous hidden gem in NYC! Best Coq Au Vin I've ever had, my boyfriend had Boeuf bourguignon and he said it was fantastic! We shared Escargot to start and a great bottle of wine. They brought out a complimentary dessert for us as well! Nice touch. Charming space that reminds you a lot of a Parisian restaurant!
I should mention...everyone who works there is French as well.
Six of us dined pre-theater. We delighted in the authenticly French menu and decor. We might as well have been in Paris. From escargot, to baked brie, trout to salmon and moules frites, everyone was pleased with their choices. On a tight schedule, we had no time for dessert or coffee and asked for the bill. While one waiter got that ready, a waitress brought us a big bowl of sangria and three tasty desserts. We couldnt resist and indulged, still getting to our play with 5 minutes to spare. The group voted unanimously to return next time we saw a play together. Thanks, Tout Va Bien, for a delightful night!
Excellent food, great service, casual atmosphere; all the classic country French favorites-our group had steak tartar, escargot, boeuf Bourgogne, salmon, and more, all excellent. Reasonably priced wines, too. Wonderful profiteroles, white chocolate mousse, and sangria rounded off the meal perfectly.
I have never visited a French restaurant, but the person that I was meeting for dinner was a French cuisine enthusiast, so in an effort to expand my horizons, I figured, WHY NOT! It was great, and the wait staff were VERY French, which made the experience even more authentic. I would return.
ah. none of the "what would you recommend this restaurant for" work for such a lovely place. it feels like it's in the Latin Quarter. it's quiet, and charming, service has always been lovely, food is wonderful, one feels at home as if it's your elegant corner restaurant run by dear friends.
Delucious authentic French cuisine. Attentive & friendly wait staff made my daughter's 13th birthday extra special. Escargot, smoked duck, chicken cordon bleu, poulet roti were exceptional. Finished with desserts of fluffy chocolate mousse and a perfect creme brûlée. An exceptional dining experience in every way.
