Tout va bien was absolutely outstanding! It is a wonderful value and the best French food in nyc! The grilled lamb was the best I’ve ever had and Marion took great care of us, even offering their homemade sangria after dessert! The perfect spot if you are taking in a show or Anytime!’I just came back from Paris and this was better than most of my meals there!!
Lovely staff Lovely ambiance The food was out of this world. A hundred stars if I could!!!
Food, service, ambience and generosity were tremendous.
Excellent food, wonderful attentive staff. Great relaxed atmosphere.
Great food that tasted homemade! Very fast service if you’re looking to see a show after.
We went here pre-theater. The onion soup was delicious. I had mussels provencale. They were fresh and wonderfully garlicky. My husband had beef bourgonion and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Fabulous service. Generous portions. The trout was superb
Great especially for pretheater
Un séjour à New-York et envie de changer des burgers , pizza et de la vaisselle jetable. Trouver par hasard ce resto français a été une excellente surprise. Plat et dessert étaient excellents et notre serveur français très sympa . A essayer les yeux fermés.
Bad food. Not much else can offset that .. even good service and ambience.
We were seated in a five person booth/chairs location at the back of the restaurant. Our meals were selected from the Specials. Bouillabaisse was outstanding, with a rich broth and half a lobster. Trout Almondine and the Skate were also standouts. We tried every dessert and were comped a glass of house sangria to finish the meal. Excellent.
Un peu de France aux Etats-Unis...really hospitable reception and great traditional food. Bouillebasse superb!
Well prepared delicious food. Straightforward. Nothing unusual. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The Mussels are incredible as is any of the Chicken Dishes.
A great night from start to finish
We got the prefix menu and the food and service were great!
Great waiter!
We had a fantastic dinner here during Presidents Day weekend. The staff was friendly and professional. We each had a different entree and shared. None of the three disappointed. Finished off our meal by splitting a wonderful chocolate mousse. We’ll definitely be back!!!
One does not go to Tout Va Bien for the ambience ... it's a well worn Bistro .. not renovated for decades. HOWEVER, the food is wonderful and further proof is that surely while there, you will be joined by a number of French speaking diners who seem to be regulars. For french Bistro it is the real deal. Our party of five had appetizers, main and dessert .. all different ... all wonderful.
Outstanding mussels and coq au vin. Very good salad and tarte Tatum. Generous wine pours.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and love the classic French bistro food including the Escargot, Onion Soup and Creme Brulee. I tried the Beef Tartare this time and it was delicious. Service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive!
We had a very positive experience to celebrate Valentines Day. The food was delicious and the service by Marian and Hugo was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We look forward to our next visit. .
Especially for a French Restaurant in New York City, the food portions were filling and the price was moderate.
If you are looking for French food with a true French restaurant experience, this is the real deal.
The food was sooo garlicky and spiced that gave me indigestion. I hope they didn’t do it to cover up not fresh ingredients
Walked into the restaurant and found a small, charming place. The salads and soup were very good. Then came the entree's -- food needed seasoning, vegetables and fish were cold, meat tough and one person had to wait an extended period of time before her dinner was served. What a disappointment -- can't recommend this restaurant, if I had anything to say it would be -- don't go!!
This restaurant is great and has a very French atmosphere....the food is a great value....the best value is the pre fixe menu but you have to ask for that menu otherwise, they do not give it to you....plenty of food for 3 courses for $29.99 up to 730pm ….I have had the escargot, the pate, the beef and hanger steak, the coq au vin and all the desserts are delicious.... very pleasant staff! I will be back
We went there based on a recommendation from a hotel bartender. We liked it so much, we went back the next night! It's a lovely place, and reasonably priced for classic french dishes.
Very good food and excellent, efficient service. The skate wing and branzino were superb. Nice cosy restaurant, well located for Broadway theater goers.
Years ago when I worked in Manhattan, this area west of 8th street on 51st was a small French community with a number of restaurants I enjoyed for a feel and taste of a real Parisian bistro. Sadly, Tout Va Bien is all that remains, but I really appreciate the authenticity of this place and the good bistro menu. On this most recent visit the Foie Gras was superb, the Steak Frites done just as I asked, and the bottle of Châteauneuf-du -Pape excellent. Of course creme brûlée was a perfect ending. We'll be back again on a future trip to NYC.
Lovely place- friendly service —enjoyed the food‼️
Great germ!
Except for being a little crowded, in the manner of most French bistros, Tout Va Bien is excellent and authentic. Fairly simple menu with the French specialties one would expect, but beautifully prepared and presented. Food is truly excellent and service is not only super efficient but super friendly as well despite a packed room that kept waiters busy. Still, wait staff was absolutely charming and makes everyone feel like un vieil ami (an old friend). Can't wait to return!
I made a reservation through Open Table and saw there was a prix fixe dinner. There were no exclusions on the website for day or time but when we got to the restaurant, we were told that it wasn’t available on Saturdays. We were disappointed and felt misled. That being said, the food was good and the service was excellent. They listed several beers on the menu but only had one: Kronenbourg. We wanted a glass of port after dinner but they had none. I found all of the above very strange. We enjoyed ourselves but they need to improve their beer and liquor menu.
Went for a pre-Broadway dinner on a Saturday. We were a party of 6 and were able to get a reservation the day before. The classic French menu might seem intimidating but it's so good and the staff is very helpful if you're not, say, a classically trained French chef.
To avoid noise, go after Broadway curtain time. The servers are more relaxed then, as well.
A warm little French bistro with a great price fixed menu in addition to their regular menu. Good escargot, great steak frites with peppercorn sauce, good mussels, just to name a few that we tried.
We went for and expected the advertised price fixed menu which was not available when we arrived. Disappointed and more costly than w PE Ted.
Great service and a menu varied enough to meet the needs of all of our group. A very enjoyable evening.
Took my daughter there for lunch before a show. Everyone loved it. Service was exceptional!!
We arrived early and although the restaurant was not open for dinner they graciously let us in and seated us. Dinner was very good French Bistro food . The service was attentive and although the restaurant was near capacity, we could carry on a conversation in normal voices
A very satisfying experience.
