Coolinary Menu was great! My Manhattan came with a candied cracklin and that’s just plain genius. There was only one server and one bartender, but they hustled and we never lacked anything. Love Toups, keep up the great work!

Cracking is Awesome! Food was farm fresh and delicious. The chef came out and served us which was very nice. Sanitizer on every table. Always a great choice dinning at Toups!
Our experience was excellent. The food was delicious, and our waiter Gabe provided outstanding service and his suggestions were on point.
In trying times, this dining experience was refreshing for the soul and we thank the Toups family and staff.
The good: Restaurant followed Covid protocols, very enjoyable atmosphere under current circumstances. Boudin balls- very good. The not so good: Shrimp appetizer- shrimp had not taken on any of the flavor of the muddy looking and tasting mixture(?) sauce(?) that it was on, so maybe a good thing. 3 or 4 medium shrimp, this dish was not inexpensive. A-1 type sauce (seriously that’s what it tasted like to me) on the Wagyu steak and eggs was overpowering. And I guess I should have asked what cut of meat the steak was because it was skirt steak- for $32.
It just didn’t feel like there was a James Beard award winner in the kitchen that day. I do wish them the best, but this didn’t cut it, honestly.
Food was excellent and the wait staff was very friendly. I feel badly rating the service 3/5 because while they were incredibly slow, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were obviously understaffed due to COVID. Still, when we sat down to lunch, we were only the 3rd table there with people, and lunch took an hour and 45 minutes. All that said, we would be thrilled to visit Toups again and again, as the food was that good.

Such an amazing meal. Started with some drinks, boudin, cheese plate, and a lamb corn dog!! We finished with the special fig salad, the Chef's Burger and a special moment with Chef Toups.

Fabulous drinks, tasty boudin balls and a great burger! Only complaint was the confit chicken was a bit dry...collards greens that accompanied the chicken were insanely good however!
Toups is always a treat — a meal even more meaningful with all the restaurant is doing for the community right now. Everyone is stretched currently, but I do have a service complaint. About 45 minutes after the conclusion of my meal, I realized I had forgotten my boxed-up leftovers (about half of the delicious pork chop). I called and was told it was thrown away after they wondered if I would come back. Good service, of course, would mean picking up the phone and calling to alert me, not just wonder if I might return. I made the reservation through OpenTable, so it would have been easily accessible.
Again, everyone is short-staffed, filling roles someone else normally would, but a little step would have gone a long way. I’ll certainly return, but it will take a while.
Disappointed by service. I asked about cocktails, and the server/bartender said he did not know either one. So, no guidance there. We were never asked about refill of beer or cocktail while dining. Water glass also was not refilled in a timely manner. For the cost, the food was just average. Wagyu steak was flavorful but tough and chewy. Not the best dining experience for the price after hearing such great things.
We came for my mom’s birthday. It was her first time there. She always asks me to bring back cracklin for her so I figured it was time she actually made it through the doors.
She says it’s the best cracklin she’s ever had. She got the French toast sandwich. I got the hot chicken sandwich. Both were amazing. And the Meatry board was amazing as always.
Toups has definitely become our go to restaurant for any occasion.

We lucked into a reservation and everything was excellent. This was our first night in New Orleans and we were determined to eat our way through. There were a couple of items on the menu that they were out of, but I figured that was because they were just reopening. We love good food and my son’s favorite item of our whole trip was the Rillettes, which given that we had beignets, muffulettas, Mother’s po-boys, gumbo, and many other classic New Orleans dishes. He said that was because it was an unexpected and very delicious. Thanks for starting our vacation off right.
Server was not the friendliest. Food was mediocre. Friends had steak that they couldn't chew and I had ribs that needed the meat cut off it was so tough.
Absolutely delicious as usual and so happy they are back open! Also a bonus that I felt safe eating there. All were in masks and socially distanced tables.

Outstanding food. I can't recommend highly enough. I've never had shrimp so good that I had to order extra bread to soak up the sauce until coming here.

Absolutely wonderful. Been wanting to come in and show support after everything they’ve done for the community and the food was just the cherry on top. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my mom had the burger. It was all TO DIE FOR. Definitely will be returning.
Toups was amazing, as usual. During COVID they are operating at a lower capacity so we had to make a reservation, which we don't mind at all.
We got the Meatery Board like we normally do, but added the pickle plate as well. My husband got the pork chop AGAIN, I tried the steak this time. The suggested wine was great. Hoping we can try the pickled pineapple next time as our waitress raved about it.
We love to support a local restaurant who is doing so much to support other locals in need during COVID. Keep it up!

Went for a birthday dinner and got a few small plates and the meat plate, and was not disappointed! The food was all excellent!
Service was excellent but we were very disappointed with the food...we will try again when things start to normalize and are so thankful for everything Toups has done for the service industry in our community.

Phase 1, social distancing rules, masks unless you are seated, sad little groups scattered around the rooms. The food was excellent though. I'll be glad to see phase 2.
