   A group of us are working in Nola and have several restaurants on our list before we head home. We were excited for this one and were incredibly disappointed by the food. Everything was so salty, we had a hard time even eating it. I regret not saying something due to the price of the bill and not enjoying anything aside from the corn bread. The service was underwhelming. Our waiter seemed very over his job and over us.

   Food was good overall. A bit adventurous for some I would think. Server did a poor job…made us feel like a burden. She was probably just having a bad day, but it took away from the experience as a whole.

   Made a reservation for my birthday, very accommodating moving us inside due to weather. Great food and attentive staff. Toups is a unique and tasty place to visit and try something you might not have before!

    I was a bit disappointed after having read reviews. The food was greasy. The servings are enormous and a good value for the money, you will take it home and eat for days if you wish.

    Food was delicious and service was excellent! We ordered boudin balls and crab claws for an appetizer - both of which I highly recommend. The boudin balls came with pickled squash which were different but terrific!

    It was a very nice afternoon for brunch. We had the Meatery board which gave you a sample of several of the appetizers on the menu. We prefer to do it that way so we can taste a variety of foods on the menu. We sat outside and the ambience and overall feel was very nice. My sweetheart enjoyed it. It was our Mother’s Day treat for her. The bottomless momosa’s was very good as well. I would highly recommend it!

    Went for brunch, sat outside - Server was not very personable or attentive, ran out of water a couple times, found out later she doesn’t like serving on the patio when I went to the restroom and heard her telling coworkers that she hates that section bc no one wants to be out there, they never tip, etc. - honestly, it put a little damper on the mood. However, the food was phenomenal!! The cheese board was incredible, the burgers practically melted in your mouth, and the homemade chips were awesome. I truly can’t remember having a better burger anywhere in NoLa. We will definitely visit again, but we will probably ask to sit inside :)

    Toups Meatery was great - we rode bikes over prior to heading to the fairgrounds for Jazz Fest and had a couple of drinks and some lunch. Service was friendly and the food was great.

    Wait staff seemed upset from the start of our time. No eye contact or smiles from the host, or any of the servers. Cheese board was good. But the glass they served my Cabernet Sauvignon in was dirty and had a smell that disturbed the smell and taste of the wine. My lamb neck was tasty and trendy, but my girlfriends Waygu beef was tough with over fried potatoes. Her drink was like watered down lemonade. The cornbread was amazing. And they turned the lights out on us while we were dining, 15 min after close

    Excellent food overall, but once again disappointed with the service. It’s like the waiters couldn’t be bothered with serving us and had an attitude toward out of towners. Despite having a reservation, we were seated outside at a table on uneven ground near the trash cans, and where our dinner companions were finger-thick palmetto bugs, aka cockroaches.

    Overall excellent experience. All of the food was perfectly prepared. I had the venison which was spectacular. I thought the service we received was great and we felt welcomed.

    Food, pork chops and steak, were very delicious. Service was mediocre. I'm a bartender/server and I expected a more positive attitude than what the host/waiter provided.

    The food was solid but not good enough to make up for the awful service and overall experience. Happy to give additional comments privately but it seems like this place doesn't have an actual manager to help the staff do their jobs well. The staff doesn't seem to have the necessary training to have a reasonable knowledge of the menu, how to course food, bus tables, offer dessert or take a second drink order. Also it's never a good look to see a server literally running in the restaurant for any reason other than maybe a fire or flood.

    Pups has a limited menu and didn’t have the main item we wanted, veal schnitzel. We started with Boudin balls that was great and cornbread that was burned on the bottom. It was replaced with a less burned version that was equally dry. On the servers recommendation, we chose the lamb neck to replace the schnitzel. The accompanying black-eyed peas were tasty but the Lamb was fatty and mostly tasteless. It needed some salt. We expected more for a top chef competitor.

    Extremely slow service. No water no waiter ever returned at all had to go ask for Check. Had the seafood dish $32 at lunch. 4 small shrimp and a thin piece of fish that was mushy. Only lukewarm. One person had chicken thighs they were ok but sauce very strong. The church sandwich was good but not outstanding. Same with fish sandwich which also had a lot of hot sauce. I will not return

    Excellent meal at Toups starting with the boudin balls and the foie gras torchon (excellent) and a shrimp dish. Then on to a chicken thigh confit and a fish couvillon. Everything was delicious. Our server seemed a bit distracted- never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert and out the check on the table. Then she went and outed another table some wine to apologize for the kitchen being late on their food. Just a bit off but she was nice. We sat outside - works in late April probably not as great later in the year but it was a nice patio
