The food was to die for! So good that they were out of a few things we wanted to try. Also the kitchen was very accommodating regarding my allergies.

Service was very slow. We waited 30 min for our drinks, 1 hour for our food. Wagyu wasn’t real wagyu. Overall taste of food was mediocre.

Great... meat. Delicious quail and flavorful (if inevitably fatty) lamb neck. We came on a bad night because while the place was half-empty our food (and everyone else’s) took forever to come out. Friendly waiter explained they were bogged down because one of the kitchen staff quit suddenly during the shift. But when I mentioned that sympathetically to the host/manager on duty she got huffy and said that was none of my concern. She did comp our drinks though!

Food was great. There were two tables that were being rude to wait staff and demanding that their food come out quicker. Our food ended up coming out too quick as we did 3 courses in less than an hour but the food was delicious, the service was attentive, and I really enjoyed it.

This place was beyond compare in every single way. If you're a tourist hop on the street car and get out of your zone. You will not regret it. Friendly staff. Garrett was my bartender and he mixed me some incredible drinks. The locals were friendly offering me off the path local places, talking with me, just being great people. The food was incredible, different, and one of the best meals I've had in years. Go. Go. Go.

We drove all the way from Texas to Baton Rouge for the weekend and we just couldn’t go back home without driving just another hour and a half to eat at Toups. It was all worth the drive and we’d do it all over again and we will. Soon.

We have been here a few times. The foie gras is very good, but the bread is too tough. The crab claws have good flavor, but the claws had very little meat. I guess the seasons change. The seafood couvillion sauce was fantastic, however the fish was not very tender. We have eaten the lamb neck in the past, and it was fantastic. The waiters were very friendly, but did not seem to know the menu well this time. We would like to have ordered dessert, but the waiter never came back, so we flagged another down to get our check. We have had some very good meals here in the past. The flavors are fantastic, but they need to step up the quality of the seafood. We will be back, no place is on all the time.

We enjoyed our experience at Toups. We plan to go back. That says it all. In a city with so many options we could try a new on every weekend and never get through them all. So, going back is a mark of approval! The wagu steak was great. We also tried the charcuterie plate and enjoyed it as well. Wide selection of wines and if you are into bourbon this is the place. So all in all great job!

The food is still good. However, the service is lacking. They were extremely understaffed during Friday lunch. Our waiter was overwhelmed and understandably not a very happy camper. The staff didn’t seem to work as a team to help alleviate problems. It made for a less than stellar experience.

The Club sandwich was the best I have ever eaten, however, the chips were too salty. The service was a bit slow, but the waitress was delightful. Prices were a bit on the high side for the menu item.

I have dined in most of New Orleans well known, fine dining establishments. This was by far one of the best meals I’ve had in the Crescent City. Between the 4 of us, we shared 4 entrees and a couple of appetizers. Not sure which I liked the best! Well done!

We started with the meat board and the chef left off the hog head cheese. We then moved on to the meal and ordered a couvillon that was below average and a pork that was pretty good, but at the price of an excellent meal. Poor service and drinks that were not very good. I would rank this place on the bottom 5 of the hundreds of New Orleans restaurants I have tried.

I guess the mistake the ladies made was ordering a salad at a "meatery". The Cobb salad was not a Cobb at all and the vinegarette was too vinegar-y. The corn bread croutons were the best part and we each only had 3 on our plate. My friend who ordered the club loved it. The shrimp broulettes were delicious! My husband enjoyed the meat board. Another friend had a good burger and onion rings. Everything else was just ok. But we had a nice time and had nice service.

Service was curt at open. Maybe they should delay opening if quality will be affected with 11am lunch.

Media management is confused. Brunch was advertised on Coolinary but was not honored on site.

Expectation may have gotten the better of us in this instance. Heard tons of popular reviews, perhaps this was a fluke and Toups Meatery was on an off day. But if inconsistency is to be blaimed we can be faulted for our critique.

Disappointing. We’ve been working our way through Toups Cookbook (love his food) and wanted to see how the food tastes when made in the restaurant. Service was horrible and what little food (small portions) we got was mediocre and crazy expensive. Of course Isaac wasn’t back there cooking, but I would have hoped someone near his skill level was in the kitchen. Not even close. Won’t be recommending and won’t be going back.
