We were warmly welcomes, as always! The staff here, the owners, the ambiance, the overall experience - ALWAYS on point. ALWAYS amazing! The food here, however, is the real star. If you would like a sampling of everything, get the Meatery Board! Also, the cracklins and dirty rice are the best I have ever had in my face! After such a heavy start, I opted for a lump crab salad that was out of this world - complete with pickled quail eggs. Cocktails are delicious and inventive, and their wine list is approachable, with something delicious for everyone!

Great experience. They were out of some things due to the hurricane but that was expected. The service from Shawn and Mel was great. Definitely looking forward to going back in a couple weeks we they are fully back up and running.

We couldn't wait to experience Issac's food. Of all the places we dined in NOLA this past week ,Toup's was our least favorite.
The ambiance is that of a dive a Dive Bar with an unpleasant aroma and not so clean.
Men's room dirty, and the hallway and mats leading to. were very dirty.
The website photos and descriptions of the food are a far cry from our experience.
Huge dissapointment for us. Were my expectations too high? I think not.

We had two COOLINARY menus and loved it. The wait and kitchen staff were both fun and helpful, and helped explain what we were eating. Food was served at a great pace. Even though the restaurant is on a busy street, the garden sitting was nice and didn't feel as loud as I thought. Highly recommend!

Celebrated my 47 year anniversary. Was looking forward to the pork chop but unfortunately was very disappointed. It had 80% fat & 20 meat.
Don’t let the size fool you. The crispy necks were delicious. The watermelon martini tasted like old juice and filled half of an old fashion martini glass for $12. Pretty much a rip off in my opinion. Our waitress Molly was excellent. Very personable & sweet. I probably will not back.

The food was incredible! The vegetable plate, shrimp small plate, crab salad, and the greens were amazing. We all shared all the things and were very pleased. One complaint- the waiter was SOOOOO loud and checked in with us entirely too much. We felt rushed and very much could not wait to get out because he was extremely loud and lacked the ability to pick up cues that we wanted to be left alone. But the food was incredible!

We were so looking forward to eating here during our trip to New Orleans. Unfortunately, when we arrived at Toups we received the worst service I’ve ever gotten in my life. After waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us and get our drink order, we then waited another 35 minutes while she completely ignored us and never took our food order. She served all of her other tables except for us (and we were in the middle of her section). Eventually, my husband had to go up to the bar and flag down another waitress so we could close down our tab and find a restaurant that would actually serve us food. Thankfully, Toups decided to waive our bill because of the incredibly poor service we received. As a former waitress myself, I was frankly in awe at the complete lack of competency and our servers failure to do the basic tenets of her job. Wish we had been able to tell people how great the food was, instead we’ll have to save Toup’s Meatery for our restaurant horror stories.

We chose to do the coolinary menu and it was excellent! Great value. I had the corn crab bisque, jumbalaya, and chocolate mousse. Absolutely delicious!

Absolutely delicious Coolinary menu. It feels good to support an establishment that took such good care of the community during such a dark time for this city. The flavors were inventive and surprising, the presentation was lovely, and portion sizes were appropriate for lunch. I especially enjoyed the corn & crab bisque and the chocolate mousse. I will definitely be returning very soon.

Great food and good service. Get the cracklins and crab claws as a starter! You won’t regret it! The pork chops were the bomb. Overall, my boyfriend and I had a great time here.

We ordered so 8 dishes. The lump crab salad was so “fresh” and delicious. The cracklin was amazing. The shrimp appetizer was pesto delicious. The turkey necks were falling off the bone tender. The crab claws were a little spicy but the lime on them was outstanding. The lamb was tender. The black eyed peas underneath were cooked in a yummy tomato base. The rillons had good flavor. We didn’t love the boudin balls. They were just ok.

Strange service. Asked for one pour of a whisky, told they don’t have it. Asked for a different one. Told they don’t have it. Asked for a third. Told they don’t have it.

Went to the bar to get change for a $20 and saw all three bottles, at least half way full, sitting on the shelf.

The large plates in particular are astounding!
I didn't know that venison could be that tender and flavorful. And it was perfectly complemented by every other element of the dish. I normally am not a big olive guy. But these had been transformed in a way that elevated the entire dish.
My partner's fish was also absolutely wonderful. But I have less detail, as I had to act fast to sneak even a single bite.

We could tell that our server was overwhelmed. The communication was poor and we felt rushed. It took awhile for the food to arrive however the food was delicious with the exception of the meatballs. Eventually the bartender and other staff stepped in to help after we had to flag down another waiter to ask for a drink.

In the end the restaurant made it right.

The lamb neck was delicious and I had a prefixed dinner with gulf fish that was amazing.

Don’t let the rustic yet sophisticated appearance fool you - Toup’s Meatery can hold its own against the biggest names in New Orleans fine dining experiences. I’ve always heard great things about it and finally decided to go and take advantage of the Coolinary menu. My mom and I each got the 2-course lunch special. She chose the cold corn and lump crab bisque with a chilled shrimp salad, and I chose the goat barbeque sandwich and chocolate mousse. We shared our meals and were almost tempted not to share because the food was amazing. I enjoyed the cold corn bisque so much that I asked the server if I could take home a quart of it - and he told me yes! So I’m picking it up today and going to enjoy it at home dreaming I could make it as well as the chef.

My favorite part of the meal had to be dessert. The mousse was topped with fresh berries and every bite had layers of flavor - salted caramel and rich chocolate and sharp notes of coffee - that presented themselves in a different order. If I had been given an entire batch of the mousse, I could have devoured it all with no regrets.

The service was perfect. Our server and the bartender took turns checking on all of the tables even while the lunch rush was filling up the restaurant. The server was quick to answer any questions, made recommendations that did not fail to impress, and our glasses were topped off as needed. Though the atmosphere is not as formal as other restaurants in New Orleans, the service was on this same level. I will most definitely be back.

My friend and I made the last reservation available, at 9:30pm, on a Wednesday night. The dining room was empty except for one other table where two guests appeared to be finishing their dinner. Within two minutes of being seated our server told us we had only five minutes in which to place our order before the kitchen closed, then proceeded to yell loudly across the dining room to the other staff, then to the other guests and later again to my friend and myself, about how he couldn't wait for his shift to be over so he could go get drunk. He even mentioned he knew his "baby momma" was going to be "p*ssed" about how drunk he was going to get.

When he took our dinner orders, he forgot to ask my friend how she wanted her steak cooked, then brought it to her very rare. When she asked to send it back to be cooked longer he told her it was too late as the kitchen had already closed. To be fair, my friend's dinner and my drink were comped as a result, but my friend went away hungry and as we both felt pressure to leave as quickly as possible neither of us enjoyed our dinner very much.

While our food was delicious -including the very rare steak, which I sampled, if you happen to like your steak rare - the server's behavior was inappropriate, unprofessional, and not only made us feel deeply uncomfortable, it appeared it made his female-presenting coworkers uncomfortable as well based on our observation. It's a shame that an otherwise great place has such a blight on its overall presentation. I would not recommend going there on the later end of the evening at all.

The food was over the top good. The best double cut pork chop I’ve ever had. Foie gras was fantastic, as was everything we had. The Bartender and his wife who was serving were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return and advise other to go.
