   The fried turkey necks are a must try appetizer to share, as is the the lamb neck a must try entre to share. Indeed, this is a terrific restaurant to eat family style sharing various dishes. The very noisy indoor seating gives it the feel of a raucous family enjoying a good time.

   Wonderful neighborhood restaurant with hometown roots. We started with an order of Boudin Balls, which were light and fluffy, served with lightly pickled squash and were absolutely delicious. For entrees, I choose my favorite Confit Chicken, which was so tender it fell off the bone. Sauteed greens were a nice compliment. My guest ordered the Lamb Neck with Spring Pea Risotto. and OMG - this was a WOW dish that should never go away! The lamb was well seasoned and so tender no knife was needed.

   I have been looking forward to eating here for a long time. I think my expectations were too high. Cocktails were nice and tasty. Boudin was gamey so others may like it. Pickled vegetables were in uneven some were bitter and others were okay. Cracklin and cornbread were good. The chicken confit was disappointing. The waitstaff was efficient. However I think they were down people so clearing the table was delayed (just a pet peeve of mine).

    I've been following Toup's on Instagram for months and this was our first time eating here. We had the boudin balls, cornbread and mustard crusted rack of elk. EVERYTHING was amazing! We will definitely be returning here and highly recommend it!

    This restaurant was recommended to my family and me a few months ago. All I can say is that we were grateful to have been able to experience this amazing eatery before we left New Orleans. Everything was exciting and delectable. One of the best nights that we have ever had while visiting this great city. Never thought I’d enjoy chicken hearts so much. Thank you for making us feel welcome and of course, for the sensational food. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to future visitors.

    I know it was a Sunday night, but good gracious were they in the weeds. Waitstaff was unable to be attentive and the food was unable to be cooked properly. Our pork chop came out in less than the quoted 40 minutes and the interior was raw. “It’s not as raw as it looks” we were told before it was fired for a good additional twenty minutes to achieve medium rare. I’ve had great meals here, but very inconsistent experiences

    The food was absolutely delicious, the wait staff were friendly and helpful, and Chef Toups was happy to say hello, thank us for coming in, and take a quick picture. I'll be going back next time I'm in New Orleans for sure.

    Nice low key ambiance at a neighborhood restaurant. Food was very good with some unexpectedly delicious unusual cuts of meat like smoked Turkey neck. Service was very disappointing as the server encouraged us to add more food to our order, which resulted in at least one more plate than necessary. When we told her it was way to much she just shrugged and said @we like to serve people a lot of food here” - very poor form.

    I’ve been to Toups a couple of time in the past. Had a great time. This time was disappointing. Arriving we were a seated in the off shoot nook. She said it’s all that was available. Zero ambiance. 10 min later they reappeared. With water. Three different people coming in asking the same questions. When the bill came there were extra items we didn’t order. I used to recommend it. Sadly, no longer. The food wad delicious. But the rest was just sad.

    Bad sign when we showed up for 7pm reservation and waitress told us we had to be out by 8. Meatery board was decent but was kinda monotonous. Elk rack was good. Pork chop looked impressive but otherwise failed. Not medium or med rare or rare but straight up raw. Restaurant too pretentious to ask customer what temp they want their meat. Ate 2 bites of raw pork fat, boxed it up and gave the $50 chop to an unhoused guy in need of a meal on the way home.

    The staff was very friendly, food came out quickly, and the place looks amazing. As for the food, it was outstanding. We had the chicken shrimp appetizer, the chicken thighs, and the couvillion. And it all was incredible. Every bite was excellent, and each dish was extremely memorable. I would recommend this as a must visit in New Orleans.

    The food was fantastic, yet the service left quite a bit to be desired. Considering the price of everything, at least one visit by the waitress to check on everything and refill our water glasses would have made a big difference.

    We had an amazing time. Our first time in New Orleans celebrating 20 years of marriage. We loved the casual bu elegant feel. The staff treated us warmly and gave us great suggestions. We had a reservation but we were early so ended up just lingering at the bar. We had an amazing time and left with very warm and happy bellies.
