Toula is located in Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Its location, on the edge of Lake Ontario, presents a stunning view of the city and it's surroundings. The rich Italian fabrics, mirrored in the gold leaf ceiling, provide guests with the perfect setting to compliment any occasion. Toula has a well established reputation for using only the finest of ingredients. Of course, no menu would be complete without a wonderful selection of wines. General Manager Adriano Vicentini has been acquiring a substantial collection to compliment any dish. The main focus of our list has naturally fallen on Italian Reds, from the regions of Piedmonte and Tuscany. With a cellar consisting of over three hundreds labels, however, our ababundant range of flavours, from both Old and New World regions, will surely yield the perfect bottle to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.

Toula Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The elevator up is gorgeous with glass windows. The restaurant looks a little downscale with cheap plastic chairs. When I asked to sit in a specific part of the dining room, they said no because it isn’t busy enough. However, a few moments later I saw another couple sat in that section. As soon as I sat down, the host spilled water on my iPhone. Despite being Vegan, they brought my dish with cheese - this was told repeatedly, and i was sure to add it to my reservation. When I pointed out there was cheese, the waiter argued and said it wasn’t. After pointing to it, he denied it again. Then, gave up. Later, another waiter came to apologize. On top of that, the waiters constantly dropped things from the table, from salt a pepper shakers, to cutlery and food.
I was surprised that this was supposed to be a high end restaurant... I think they need a little bit of re training.
The ambiance of the Restaurant was great. Not very busy so it was perfect for a date. I went for my girlfriends and mine anniversary. The food for the value (Depending on what you order) is okay. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a night out for fine dinning and a great view
Me and my boyfriend decided to take Christmas off and take our moms out to Toula for the evening. We had to request for lime, our drinks and napkins at least 3 times. Our food took a extremely long time and when it did come out, the portion was small and the food was cold. My brother ordered a medium rare steak and it was medium well instead.. we decided to not say anything in regards to the entree, gave them the benefit of the doubt. We then waited for our desserts for 35 minutes (gelato with fruits and tiramisu) until we asked if it’s coming soon and they said they forgot. Well, you know where it goes from there. For a restaurant who charges 20% gratuity automatically, you would hope for better service.
This was the biggest waste of money that I've spent at a restaurant. I made plans to go here for Christmas dinner. First of all, when I called to make a reservation, the man who answered claimed I had to give him my credit card info to "hold" the table as it was their last table, and said this was due to them having many cancellations the previous year. He said if we didn't show my card would be charged 55% of the cost of the food/person. I refused to give him my card as I've never heard of a restaurant requiring this before. 1 minute later I went on Open Table and was able to easily reserve the table at NO COST, and as I suspected, there were at least 4 other open reservations..so much for it being the "last table". When we got there, the food was bland and tasteless. $55/person for a 3 course meal. The appetizer was ok, but the main course (lamb ragout with home made pasta) tasted like ravioli out of a can. My friend had steak which she requested to be medium/rare, but it was RARE..like blood dripping right out of it. To add insult to injury, the deserts we ordered were their alleged "gelati". It tasted like Mcdonalds soft ice cream that comes out of a machine and their tiramisu was soggy with multi colored sprinkles on it. For the hype this place comes with, I was expecting way more for my money. I have dined at many fine restaurants and this experience was truly a disappointment, this establishment should be embarrassed for what they tried to pass off as fine cuisine. I will not be returning nor will I refer any friends/family/colleagues here...ever.
Service was excellent. Very warm and friendly staff. Good selection of foods on menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I plan on returning. Note: the restaurant is handicap accessible but the access to the handicap bathrooms which are located on a different floor require assistance to access by the staff using a private staff elevator.
We couldn't go for dinner due to airplane delayed (we could provide evidence), so my wife went to take out the dinner and they charged the full price for Christmas dinner, 124$ for two people, which was higher than the normal price for that food on the menu (probably around 60$). I will never go back
We were terribly disappointed with Toula. The service was horrible; disorganized. I was offered a drink. Then once my drink was served I had to ask the waiter could my other 10 family members be offered a beverage as well. All of our dinners were brought at different times. To the chef: food was good but the appalling service clouded this. We had busboys and waiters arguing; milk and sugar moved from our table to another table before we had used them, the whole experience was dreadful. Needless to say we will not be returning. We were informed later the restaurant is not affiliated with the Westin Hotel. Too bad as we enjoy staying there but will make arrangements to go elsewhere.
The view is good and that's where it ends. Today we went for lunch and they gave us the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu; then when it was time to pay, they claimed that their credit card machine was broken! Service was not what you would expect in a place that charges these prices. same goes for food: nothing you couldn't cook at home. They should sell the space to someone who knows the restaurant business, even a bit.
They just lost a big client just down the street.
Very disappointing. The view is the restaurants biggest asset. The meal for 4 people was $350.00. Definitely not worth the cost. The food was mediocre. The Server tried his best to impress, but forgot a side, which came after the meal was finished. The request to remember a birthday dessert, which was confirmed by a phone call, was forgotten. I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. I can go to far better restaurants for the same amount of money. And aside from that, my wife went to the washroom and came back and said for a restaurant of this calibre, the washrooms are disgusting.
We stayed at the hotel, chose Toula for the convenience. Weather was terrible, so was the view. Not their fault. Very expensive. Entrees were $40 and up. My husband had the steak. It was cooked to perfection. I had the pork tenderloin. it was overcooked. Crispy on the outside like it had been sitting under the hear lamps for a long time.
Overall we had a good experience. The waiter was very friendly and answered all of my questions.Good location and wasn't that busy as I expect. We had a really nice view and spot as we came with baby, she felt comfortable. The only thing that the waiter forgot to bring two spoons but it was fixed emmidiatly and we even didn't pay attention to that.
Extremely slow and unknowledgeable service! When asked any question about the menu our waiter would say I don't know and then it would be another 5-10 minutes before he would return with a limited answer. The menu was very plain and boring. We had one person in our party that was gluten sensitive and the waiter was not very helpful with his assistance--basically stating "i think there's GF pasta" but never offered to verify. One person at the table requested plain spaghetti pasta instead of gnocchi and he said they were unable to customize the dish. WHAT?? very weird! Just put the same sauce on pasta instead of gnocchi! It appeared that he was overwhelmed most of the time. We had the charcuterie which didn't taste fresh, gnocchi, salmon, ravioli all of which were lacking in flavor.
Dated interior, almost empty restaurant at 7pm, subpar menu and service. I won't return even if the views are amazing!
Horrible service. We reserved a table in advance and were given a horrible spot. The service was horrible. No one checked on us or asked if we needed anything else. Somehow the waiter found it appropriate to give me the bill before I even asked for it. The food was not enjoyable for me as well, but that might have something to do with the bad service. I will not recommend to anyone. I have told my friends about my unpleasant experience. I will not be coming back.
Celebrated a milestone birthday lunch with a group of approximately a dozen people. We enjoyed the spectacular view of the lake and Toronto Island on a beautiful clear, sunny day. The service was excellent, ensuring everyone was more than satisfied with their order. The meals were delicious and were enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere.
Kudos to Toula Restaurant for making our special occasion truly special.
Great view but restaurant is very run down and could use to be redone. The service was slow, and the food wasn't very good. Could be a great place if an overhaul was done with its location, but I would not go back or recommend it unless that were to happen.
That was the worst experience I've ever had.
The booking of the table and choice of a set menu was painful. I didn't hear back from the restaurant staff for over a month, they wouldn't return my phone calls or emails and when they did they sent the wrong contract.
Service was awful, very slow and the food was just disgusting. The salads were swimming in dressing and nothing was fresh. Bread was hard and the olive oil was horrible!
One of our guests ordered hen and it came uncooked. Pasta was terrible, some were hard and other were too soft.
The price is outrageous and quality terrible.
Before recommending Toula I'd recommend even McDonalds.
Service was extremely slow - we were dining with a Travelzoo voucher and our meal had 4 courses. It took half an hour to even place our food order - and then the service was very slow bringing out the food. Food was ok but not fantastic. I do not feel it was worth what the full value of the voucher would have been. The view was amazing .
This was our second visit to Toula and the food was very good again. .....the only component that saved the night. We had picked this restaurant for the food but also for the view and the service we had experienced before. We were entertaining friends from the UK and wanted a special dinner out......that was not the full outcome.
They have changed their chairs to a clear acrylic and they did not give off the right vibe...too casual. The space itself looked sparse and almost like they were in the middle of establishing a new look and weren't quite there yet.
The service was very inconsistent. We placed our drink order and they did not arrive until after our food order was taken and the appetizers arrived......bad timing. When the mains were delivered....one was delivered almost 10 minutes after the first three. We were actually just about to go and ask about it when it finally arrived. We had to ask for wine rather than having a follow-up inquiry about beverages.
Will not go back and would not recommend even though the food was still very good.
