About Touchdown Club II
The original Touchdown Club was formally organized in 1947, holding meetings at The Mission Inn located at the Route 981 and Route 30 crossroads. he premise of the Club's foundation was to "increase public interest in sports
and athletic games and to assist students, with proven scholarship ability at St. Vincent College and in need of financial aid, in continuing their education." In 1954, the Club was moved to Murphy Mansion on Center Drive and moved again in 1960 to its present location on Route 30 in Latrobe. In November 2005 the original Touchdown Club closed.
Then, just a few months later in May of 2006, the new Touchdown Club II was reopened by Michael Molina and Jonathan Miller. Both of them graduated from Greater Latrobe High School and currently reside in the area. These young gentlemen plan to continue many of the same traditions that started back in 1947. The tradition of a friendly gathering spot has been here for many years and will continue to be in the future

Touchdown Club II Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I’d recommend this place to anyone and the owners have taken time to restore the history behind the Touchdown club. The food was fresh and hot. The bread they bring to the table in the beginning is delicious. The menu holds a variety for anyone. Please check this restaurant out if you’re in Latrobe it’s worth the stop! You won’t be disappointed!
Bread was the only thing good. We saw nice atmosphere and menu but food was average disappointed. Carrots celery dry. Beef nachos. Where was the beef under toooo much cheese. Salad dry. Chicken parmesan average. Fettuccini average. Dinos across the street much better!!
We had the Lobster Tail special. Options would have been better at say Red Lobster, but we wanted to stay local. The "pickle tray" that comes with the meal is a few olives, a few celery sticks, of which one was bad, and a few carrot sticks. I expected a little bit more. My wife had a diet coke, pepsi machine was broken, but being repaired while we were there, the diet coke was flat, no fizz in sight. Informed the waitress to which her answer was I just opened the can myself, no offer of another diet, just water. If she had just opened it and poured into the glass, she should have noticed that it didn't have any foam. The salad was just iceberg lettuce, some of it brown and limp, beet slices, onion and a cucumber slice. Again, I would have expected more of an artisan salad for the price point. After serving our meal, the waitress didn't come back until we were done eating to offer dessert and to if I wanted a beer refill, had she came back say half way through the meal, I might have had another and the wife's water was never refilled. Waitress bought out the tray of desserts on offer, we didn't want dessert, but even if we did the presentation of the desserts was unappetizing. The options were displayed on a tray, but look as if they had been there all day. We would go again, perhaps waitress was just having a bad day, but again at price point we expected more attention.
Love the crab cakes and the asparagus wrapped with prosciutto was outstanding. I highly recommend the stuffed peppers and seasoned shrimp for appetizers. I might even have them the next time for my main meal. One of our diners had the salmon Rockefeller. It looked delicious. I will return.
Order the steak. The filet is second to none. This time I had the strip steak with blue cheese toping. I know, not very healthy, but it was the first time this year and I am on a statin; so, no problem. I chose the pasta side. There sauce is delicious. We also ordered the stuffed peppers and seasoned shrimp for appetizers--wow!!! Too good.
I have eaten at the TD club several times. The filet medium is too good to be true. I also enjoyed their grilled salmon and a chicken dish covered with crab. The service is spectacular. They have several early bird specials (go for the crab cake) and prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights. The prime rib is a real eating delight and so big that it could be featured on "Man versus Food." I generally take groups with me to eat at the TD club and no one has been disappointed with the food or service.
When you're looking for a great spot to go for that date night, birthday or just that evening for a casual night out without breaking the bank , the Touchdown Club II fits the bill. Local charm, a cozy bar without being a bar scene. Bring the pickiest friend knowing they will find a gem to satisfy. Say hello to Mike and Stacie they"ll be glad you came
It was our 30th anniversary, so we decided to go to the Touchdown club Sat nite for this (5/9/15), we are from Latrobe and have visited this restaurant several times in the past, we love Prime Rib and know they have it on Fridays and Saturdays, so we chose to go there. It was the worst prime rib ever, ordered it medium and it was sooo tough we could hardly cut it with a steak knife. Left most of it behind, was kinda bummed out, I thought I had made reservations for a good dinner for our 30th anniversary. Needles to say will never go back there for that again!
Our meals varied from the salmon to chicken Romano and everyone was pleased with their meals. The soup and salads were fresh and tasty, I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a relaxed dinner served in a timely fashion.
The food was great, everything we ordered was exactly as presented buy the server. The crab cakes were more like pure crab meat, with a touch of something to keep it together, but a touch. Steak was great for my Son and my prime rib was also wonderful. The server couldn't have been better. Will certainly go back for all St. Vincent College functions. Try this place.
