Toscano Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Six of us had another wonderful dinner at Toscano Ristorante. Many say this is the best restaurant in all of NJ and it’s hard to argue against that opinion. You will not have a better meal anywhere in NJ, hands down. We started with the Calamari, the best on the planet - tender, tasty, with a topping of a sweet and sour Demi- glaze and bacon. Our 2nd appetizer was the Pane Toscano - A thick crusted loaf of bread stuffed with mozzarella cheese and caramelized Vidalia onions, topped with roated garlic and Romano cheese, baked to a crispy delight.
Our entrees were equally exquisite, four had the Ahi Tuna special that was out of this world. One had the Grouper platter and another the Hazelnut Encrusted Salmon with Roasted garlic mashed sweet potatoes , asparagus, lobster cognac beurre blanc, both to die for..
The homemade desserts were out of this world. The service was great and we all walked out saying the same one world - Amazing.
This place is not to be missed.
Normally this place is a great place for food. Our last visit however was a bit disappointing. Alot of items removed from the menu that we enjoy, and myself and fiancee were left with limited choices. My steak was charbroiled on the outside literally blackened, and not cooked to perfection in the middle. Asked for medium well and was very pink. My fiancee as a vegetarian was limited to spinach ravioli and while good, 4 ravioli for $23 seemed a bit steep price wise. In good faith we would come back, however, this visit celebrating her birthday was not as great as normally expected.
Sensational! The burrata with heirloom tomatoes was superb! My calamari/shrimp/ lobster over pasta was fantastic as well. As always, my wife’s chicken francese was perfect. The service at Toscano’s was top notch as usual.
Our favorite restaurant in New Jersey.
I had dinner here 10+ years ago and then had not been back until a business associate invited us there for dinner last month. Then I visited again a few weeks later. The food is very good, they have a nice variety of Italian and steakhouse. An unusual combination but Toscano's does is extremely well.
First time at Toscano’s. Looking to attend another evening there. Food was outstanding. Had oysters for my app and seared tuna over rice for the entree.
Restaurant is limited for space. The only compliant is the manager said that our table was ready for our 6:00 reservation. He said proceeded to tell us that we had to be finished before 8:00 since they had another reservation. This was a business dinner with some of the guests with us was from out of town. Couldn’t complete everything on the agenda since we were rushed. Not good.
Failed to read “special requirements” . I requested a larger table (for 4), party of 2. They had a table for 2 ready but reluctantly did seat us at the larger table. Every time we go there, we have to go through the same thing,...... as if they are going to lose money by having 2 people sitting at a table for 4.
We've been going to Toscano's for many years and the food has yet to disappoint. Service is great and the Chef really knows how to prepare his cuisine. Be prepared to spend some change if you plan on a full menu; cocktails, appetizers, dinner, dessert. This is my high-end choice for a quality restaurant!
Toscano lives on it's own plane. It is an extremely professionally run operation that excels on most levels, and raises the bar in Bordentown. The food is all good, from their appetizers,(Italian egg rolls),to their main courses.Toscano has really good steaks, they have a great pork chop, with a root beer glaze, that is yummo! It doesn't taste as though root beer was poured over the chop, much deeper flavors than that.Desserts are also good.It can be loud, but the carpet, etc, helps to keep the noise from getting shrill. The service is also excellent, - very hospitable, attentive without being overbearing.I have never felt rushed. So,give it a try!
Fantastic! We shared the prime dry aged sirloin and the wet aged filet and I have to say they were 2 of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The sirloin was aged to perfection and might possible have been more tender than the filet. Our server Matt was friendly and always available when needed without hovering. An outstanding meal and evening!
Love toscanos but a disappointment my last time. Dinner took way too long. Food was great except for the pork. I asked for it medium and it came out very medium rare. I sent back and still underdone. Brought it home to cook for dinner the next night. Would go back but would make a point about the pork being underdone.
We drove up from Delaware to meet friends and decided on this gem simply based on Open Table reviews. And we are so glad we did. Toscano Ristorante is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Its location in the quaint beautiful town sets the stage for a great evening. The menu is exceptional and creative. The service is impeccable -- every dish arrived piping hot. The meal was timed beautifully so as not to rush us. And the decor is warm and inviting. The owners clearly want their guests to feel as if they are guests in their home. I can't wait to go back. Thank you for a memorable evening.
