Went for lunch as a part of the Dine Out Boston deal - and will certainly be going back! The food was delicious and the service was some of the best I’ve experienced. Love all of the hard wood in the decor. From where we sat, we could see into the kitchen through a big window - it was fun watching the chefs slice prosciutto right through the window! Plus, incredible fresh bread to start.
Our waiter( Giuseppe) sorry, not sure of the correct spelling but he was amazing, gave great recommendations as he got to know us and our tastes. Very efficient, friendly and professional. We tried smoked salmon dish for appetizer and it was tender, moist and perfectly season. Meals are always great and the management team is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Looking forward to frequent the establishment often. Thank you Toscano!!!!
Excellent food quality and our waiter was very nice and helpful while ordering. The host even stepped in to serve some bubbly.
We gathered as friends for a Saturday catch up, the host was somewhat impatient and had a loud vice in asking about what we needed, we were planning late afternoon stay with discussing and drinks but decided against it because of his fed up attitude, in my previous visit, the meal was delicious and the host was friendly
Awesome food. Great service Love the pizza here. Prices are pretty good as well.
Was in Boston for the weekend. Wonderful birthday night out with my daughter. Great food and friendly service. We will definitely be back if we return to Boston.
We had a really nice time - I really like Toscano and I was pleased the music wasn't playing
as loudly as it had been the last time I was there...I no longer like restaurants where they play loud
music as I want to be able to hear what my dining companions are saying...
The service was superb and food was excellent - a very nice place!
I've eaten at Toscano 3 times over the last 3 weeks and each experience has been great. Try the vitello tonnato which is one on the menu in the summer.
We had a delicious dinner last night. We enjoyed a bottle of wine recommended by our server. We ordered three meals and shared them all. The waiter brought extra plates so we could pass the entrees. We had the filet- it was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were the perfect companion for the meat and potato lovers. We also selected the shrimp pasta and the penne with meat sauce. All cooked to perfection! This meal was way better than a recent one I had in Boston’s north end.
Every aspect of our dining experience was excellent
My friend, who is in progressive dementia shooed away her entree because she saw potatoes which she doesn’t like. The Waiters scooped the plate and replaced the potatoes with spinach - all in a matter of seconds with no odd looks - just kindness. It made me really happy and I thank Roberto and the woman with the dark aqua shirt. Lovely people.
As always, top rated service and delicious meal. We went for a late lunch and got seated before our reservations. Our server Peter was wonderful! One suggestion: please put back friend zucchini flowers on menu!
Quiet, white tablecloth restaurant that has mastered Italian cuisine and excellent service. Whether you order a special of the day or an item from its menu, all the food is well-prepared and flavorful. We especially enjoyed our server, who was both attentive and knowledgeable. The cuisine is authentically Italian. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a meal with family or friends.
Holiday and waitress at thé réception really unfriendly
This restaurant never disappoints! Awesome food and awesome service.
Amazing food every time!
Vero ristorante italiano. Sapori autentici e pochissimi compromessi coi gusti locali. Unico problema è il rumore di fondo che quasi impedisce di parlare; dovrebbero insonorizzare il locale.
A first rate restaurant with superb food, service, and atmosphere. Not to be missed.
Lovely Italian restaurant in Back Bay Boston. Menu selection was extensive, food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. The one drawback was the noise -- the surfaces are all hard stone or wood with nothing to absorb the sound. Several tables around us were quite boisterous to the point that it was difficult to carry on a conversation across the table. We would go back again, perhaps requesting a quieter spot (if such exists).
From palm beach florida. This place is a must if you want Italian food in Boston.
Fantastic experience as always. Enjoyed bringing my daughters who were visiting from Europe. Guaranteed fabulous meal and great service EVERY time!
Excellent service and food was terrific. Certainly would go back next time we are in Boston.
Gluten free pasta options that aren't on menu! I got the gluten free seafood spaghetti and it was fantastic. Service and atmosphere was lovely
Food was great! Martini great. Nice time
Great food, knowledgeable staff, the filet special for this evening was fantastic. Black and white truffle oil, just wanted to lick the plate clean.
My wife and I stopped there for lunch after a Dr's appt at MGH. From the moment we arrrived until we departed...it was an incredible experience. The bolognese was the best I ever had anywhere...including my italian wife's recipe. Thank you.
Best friend’s birthday dinner was oh so lovely and she appreciated it very much.
Great food. Terrible service. Felt like I was putting the waiter out by ordering. Too bad. It's a nice place in a great area.
Couldn’t have been more lovely. From the greeting at the front door, to our waitress, everything was perfect. The food is the centerpiece. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented, and delicious.
Best Italian food I have had in Boston. The pappardelle was rich, sweet, salty and perfect!! Portions are large. Bar had great spirits, nice wine list and (surprisingly awesome) - gluten free options! Will recommend to all!! Thanks to Mark in the bar. This was special!
Wonderful service and food as always. Never disappointed.
Very enjoyable evening with attentive service. The food was good, but the pasta needed more seasoning, the flavor of both the shrimp/tagliatelli and porcini/linguini were bland.
We’ve lived in the city for almost six years but oddly just recently discovered Toscano. Tough to get into but well worth it if you plan ahead. So cozy—among the best atmosphere in Boston. Now we have a third favorite Italian place, along with Mamma Maria and Sorrelina. Toscano’s is slightly more casual and also significantly less expensive than the other two—a pleasant surprise, given the Charles St. location.
But the service makes Toscano’s stand out. The filet with Creme sauce and foie gras was amazing, and I’m a steak guy. The veal scallopini my wife ordered was also delicious, but even for her, a smallish portion. My daughter ordered the mushroom risotto which was tasty but apparently all risotto at Toscano’s is tomato-based which (important to know) isn’t her thing so we mentioned that to the waiter, and get this: they brought her another delicious pasta dish with mushrooms and took both of them off the bill! Service in general was super as was the whole evening. Toscano’s is becoming one of our go-to Italian places, but don’t expect to easily get in as a last minute weekend reservation.
Great recommendation from a friend who has spent a lot of time in Boston. Great service and even better food. Will come back next time we visit the city!!
Delicious food, fabulous Beacon Hill location, mature service and cozy atmosphere...who could want more?
We have eaten at Toscana every time we come to Boston for many years. The food is always great. They have a very nice wine list with some good CA wines and great Italian wines. The service is always great and we enjoy seeing Richard on each visit as he never fails to remember us and treats us as old friends. We highly recommend Toscana!!
Our reservation was at 9:00, our waiter was upset and with bad attitude rushing us because kitchen was closing. Table next to us was loudly coursing and yelling , the server said it was too much work to move us although we were with children. We moved ourselves to another table. Food below average.
Tasty Italian food in an upscale surrounding. For some reason I had never made it to Toscano on Charles Street. After a nice visit to the Cambridge location I put it on my list to try. This place is often booked up - my first hint that I might be missing a good place. On A quiet summer Sunday, boom...I snagged a reservation.
The menu offers a nice variety of choices. There are a few options that are unique recipes. We enjoyed a cheese plate, it was fine and Cesar sales that was good. The entrees were much better. My spaghetti vongole was made with nice, fresh cherrystone clams in a complex, light red sauce featuring fresh tomatoes. A nice spin on a classic. He enjoyed rigatoni with meat sauce. Again, a nice spin on a more usual bolognese (which was also on the menu). For desert we shared a white chocolate blueberry tart recommended by our waiter. We both commented on the delicious cookie style crust. The filling was good but could have used a little something.
Service was great when we arrived but fell apart towards the end of our meal when the server got a large party. Valet made this a great choice on an evening of downpours.
We love Toscano's & look forward to reasons to treat ourselves to this terrific restaurant. This reason was celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful server named Dan. So attentive & knew his crowd. Unfortunately, we sat next to a table of 4 women that were beyond noisy, culminating in one of them using her two fingers to whistle loudly, making the guests (like us) pause & ask the question, "Why?".
Will we go back...absolutely no doubt. Thank you again Dan!!!
