Restaurant is great across the board.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sole disadvantage is local parking except later after 8pm — otherwise you may be parking at the Charles Hotel. 😬

Overall, the food was very good. The fish was slightly overcooked, otherwise, the dining experience was lovely.

Our server Susan added all of the human touches to a perfect meal. She made excellent wine and food recommendations and was playfully engaging without being intrusive. We will definitely return to Toscano in the future.

Awesome experience here! Outstanding service. I ordered the sautéed swordfish filet, presentation was beautiful and it was so flavorful. I will definitely be coming back again.

We chose this restaurant for a celebratory family meal because of the mid-tier pricing and the good reviews. Unfortunately, they underdelivered and we were overall disappointed. We started with 3 appetizers to share: Bruschetta (fine, bread was same that they served on table, not toasted enough), Salumi Misti (good selection of meats and olives) and Mista Toscano (nice and fresh salad). The entrees we shared were: Tagliatelle Porcini (fine, but bland mix of mushrooms and pasta), Ravioli Gamberi (a little spicy, fresh, with a nice size serving of shrimp - definitely the best item we ordered) and Scaloppine Pizzaiola (a bland, dry, tough thin slice of veal smothered in too much red sauce and cheese). Ambiance was nice, and service was adequate. Overall: an average experience, sorry we can’t recommend.

Everything was perfect! I requested a quiet table when I made my reservation, and my request was honored without a reminder from me. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I'll be back!

Always great food, ambiance, and service. We come as often as the food is so good and reasonable. Parking is always an issue in Harvard Square but don't let that stop you!

Our lunch was delicious. The Pollo Toscano was perfectly cooked, with tender chicken and delectable light sauce. The Ricotta cheese torte was perfect; not too sweet, and with the hint of lemon. So good--definitely worth an encore.
The servers were very attentive.
The only thing that interfered with a lovely ambiance was a large tv over the bar.

I’ve eaten at Toscano in Harvard Square many times. It is my favorite place. The food is always consistent and great. Staff are all attentive. Reminds me very much of my trip to Tuscany - authentic and simple.

We met, two old friends, for lunch during Dine Out Week. I ordered from the $25.00 Dine Out lunch menu. I had a lovely Caesar salad with fresh shaved Parmesan cheese. There weren’t too many croutons, a pet peeve of mine with Caesar salads. Delicious. I then went on to steak with crushed pepper, served with lovely browned chopped potatoes. Dessert? I went for tiramisu. Delightful. Best part is that there was enough to bring home some of the entire meal to have at home the next day. Great visit with my friend, great service, and very conveniently located in Cambridge.

Toscano offered a wide range of options for delicious dining. The special lobster linguine was a highlight. Appetizers are generous and could be shared. Excellent wine by the glass selections with generous pours.

You can't miss with Toscano's fish specials. Tonight the cod with golden raisens and pine nuts in a wine sauce was devine. Their creme caramel is almost as good as José Andres' and that's saying something.

Toscano has been our family tradition over the last four years while our daughter was attending school nearby. Every meal has been stellar, fresh, inventive, beautifully prepared and presented. The wine list is great - and the cocktails classic. The staff is always trying to make it work for your needs - squeezing in an extra chair, being patient with various arrival times, giving you time to enjoy yourselves fully. The seafood is sometimes truly stunning. The veal and steaks cooked to perfection. The lighting and mood is nearly my favorite part. Will miss it so much when our daughter moves on. One last big hurrah graduation weekend - can't wait.

Still one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Warmly welcomed for our anniversary with a couple of treats. Excellent food and service as always. Whenever we get to Boston/Cambridge (a couple of times a year), we are sure to make reservations early to insure a spot.

The Wait Staff was superb and took great care to fulfill our every need. When I was standing in front of a Rest Room, an employee directed me to another one. We never felt rushed and the food was delicious. It was a delightful evening and I can't wait to return.

Food was good but very traditional. Nothing exciting here. If you are looking for standard pasta or other typical Italian dishes this will serve well. If you want something more interesting if look elsewhere.

The food was marvelous, but our overall experience was disappointing as the service was professional rather than warm and engaging. We also felt invisible when I tried to get some water from a number of waiters who kept on walking when I waved at them.
The high noise level also made it difficult to relax. This might be a Cambridge hot spot, but it left us cold...

My boyfriend and I went to Toscano for his birthday and it was wonderful! The staff are always really friendly and helpful. We are huge fans of their risotto and they capped off the night with a surprise dessert. It was perhaps a little louder than I would normally prefer for quiet conversation but nothing out of hand. Definitely recommend!

We planned a surprise celebration dinner for our daughter’s 30th birthday at Toscano and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. The courses were well paced and delicious. And our daughter was presented with a surprise complementary dessert! The only regret is that we didn’t order enough ricotta cheese torte to share. Can’t wait to go back!

Four of us had a wonderful lunch. Two of us had the oven roasted salmon, and two of us had one of the specials, a cod dish with capers and lemon (like a picata). We shared grilled vegetables and the meatballs for appetizers. For dessert we asked if they could make affogato (espresso over vanilla gelato), and they did. Everything was delicious including the bread, which I took home. I've eaten there several times for dinner, but this was the first time for lunch. Will definitely do lunch again.

If you are near the Harvard Square area, Toscano Harvard Square is wonderful place for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is sophisticated, the food is really excellent, and you may see a few notable Harvard Faculty members in attendance!

The food is authentic Italian cuisine with a wonderful pasta menu, excellent entrees (I recommend the salmon) and luscious desserts. Top it off with a wonderful espresso!

The service is attentive but not overdone. If you're dating, it is a romantic spot, but it's also a great place to dine and catch up with friends. Highly recommend!

This is the second dinner we have had at Toscano and have found the food and service to be very good. While very good it is unclear why the chef would allow an entree, that is visibly overcooked, to leave the kitchen

My boyfriend and I visited Toscano for the first time to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day (early) dinner. Overall we were very happy with our experience. Our waiter Mitch was attentive and had great suggestions. I couldn’t decide between the Rigatoni Toscano and the Funghi Risotto, so I asked for his opinion, and he suggested that I do a split dish - half of each. I was SO happy he suggested the split, because they were both SO yummy. And at no extra cost!!!! So awesome. My boyfriend got the eggplant plate for dinner and he loved that as well. When it came time for dessert, we wanted something chocolate and didn’t see anything on the menu that was chocolate. We asked what the couple next to us had gotten - flourless chocolate cake with a side of vanilla gelato - so we got that as well. Delicious!
So so happy we gave Toscano a shot - we will be back!!!
