Considtently good to excellent
My son and I were in town visiting he is 17 years old and quite the foodie and we wanted to try a local place for a nice sit down dinner we made reservations ahead of time I arrived early and we were accommodated and they also held her bag for us since we had come from a baseball game..
We started with a cheese plate for an appetizer and fresh rolls which we asked for more they were so good. Then my son ordered the homemade gnocchi and I ordered the homemade ravioli both were very fresh and the sauce was amazing
The service was great atmosphere was great we were dress pretty casual we sat at the high top area but you could dress up and sit in the dining area
Wonderful food & service always - one of my family favorites
This is a lovely well priced better restaurant than most.
Excellent!!! It was a wonderful experience and while we dine here
often, both the food and service never lets us down!!
Food was OK, service was very good but seemed overpriced for what we got. Also, if you prefer beer, you only have 3 choices.
Too many good options on the menu!
As always, delicious food, great service and wonderful comfortable & cozy atmosphere!
We visit Toscano for special occasions a few times a year and it never fails to disappoint. We visited recently for our daughter’s 21st birthday as it is her favorite restaurant in Boston/Cambridge. The service is always impeccable, the wine list is fantastic with lots of reasonable and special choices, and the menu includes both great Italian classics and some surprising specials. Side bonus: visit Toscano in Harvard Square and you can hit Burdick’s chocolate right next door! We can’t say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is.
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful, very detail oriented but not oppressive.
Excellent service, delicious food, great ambiance. Recommend 100%
Wonderful food selections, tables at sufficient distance to feel safe and quiet, service was attentive, friendly, and professional. Toscanos Harvard Square has kept up its high standards of comfort, delicious food, and service. Well deserved 5 stars.
Few restaurants offer to hang your coat up upon arrival. It’s very European and very classy! Service at the bar always seems very personal. The Acqua Cotto soup was fantastic. The pappardelle Bolognese was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. (I’m Italian so..)
I often come from back bay where restaurants are plentiful - and it’s always worth the trip.
Best food in Harvard Square. Distinguished ambience. Good service although it can take a while to find the waiter for the check.
The ambiance, service, and food were delicious. My server was polite, helpful, and even brought a surprise dessert for a birthday celebration. Highly recommend!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Wonderful food and atmosphere!
A+. Warm inviting ambiance. The lighting, decor, windows, staff were first rate. And, I’m a very fussy patron. First impressions count. Our host was so warm, welcoming, and committed yo our comfort. I have never been brought to my table and asked “is this table okay or would you prefer another?” I almost fell over and proposed to the man. Granted, it was early and there were other tables available and that’s not always the case - but to be asked was unprecedented. Bravo! The experience of dining at Toscano was first rate and I will return. So glad this gem didn’t shut down due to the pandemic.
Excellent meal and wonderful service. Will be back again soon.
Wonderful afternoon at Toscano! We had the beet salad, carpaccio, and eggplant parmigiana. All were outstanding! The eggplant was especially good. Not breaded so my friend was able to enjoy it!
Toscano was mediocre, at best. The appetizers were so-so (shrimp and meatballs), while the entrees were rather bland (scaloppine pizzaiola).
We had great service, unfortunately for Toscano, The American Repertory Theater had canceled that day’s performance. We arrived early and were told they would be able to seat us immediately. We were then offered a table at the window as opposed to a high top. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. I was dining with my grandson who attends Harvard and he said he would remember Toscano for special occasions.
Lovely sit down restaurant. We were able to take our time and enjoy our meals complemented with great wine. A little pricey but we knew that going in. We all enjoyed it very much.
I had to modify this reservation late in the game going from three people to four, and Toscano was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, everyone else in my party was going to be late except me. They were happy to seat me, but my party was going to be late enough that a friend of mine came in to have a drink with me as I waited for them. The host - I asked and I believe they said her name was Cassie and she was the one helping me on the phone before I arrived - was super helpful and the waitstaff also stayed flexible in serving us in my very unconventional evening.
Everyone involved had a lovely time. We had a mix of cocktails, wine, a few starters, and our entrees, and it was all delicious. The blood orange Bellini and the cheese tasting plate were highlights for me. The plate had four beautiful cheeses with crisp pear and apple slices on the side.
Wanted to go somewhere nice with my partner for our anniversary. We got the funghi risotto and the bistecca filet. They were both incredible. We had to keep taking bites of each other’s food because it was too good not to share. They also gave us a free tiramisu for our anniversary, which was lovely!
The food was delicious. My steak was cooked just right. We all really like our meals. The service was excellent.
Table ready and waiting when we arrived.
Waitstaff aware of special food request
Waitstaff courteous and responsive
We love going here pre theater at A.R.T. Loeb drama center because of the good food and proximity.
Good service, and interesting menu. Had better meals there previously.
Our evening was particularly special last Thursday, made so by the incredible wait staff. Our server was attentive, professional and friendly. We were there for opening night at ART and he really made our night! Between his recommendations of food and wine, and the atmosphere and great food at Toscano, we had a lovely evening and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful night out!
I've always had excellent food and service at Toscano's, which keeps me coming back. My only complaint is that the ambiance noise level is just too loud. When the restaurant starts to fill up with customers, it's almost impossible to have a conversation with my dinner companion without shouting or asking them to repeat themselves... and my hearing has been tested as normal!!!. Hurray to the excellent chefs and wait staff, but managers...please dampen the sound level!!
The rigatoni was absolutely amazing and the pizza was perfection!!!
Service and Ambiance great
Food and value poor
Will not go back
My family always enjoys Toscano. It is a place that provides a sense of attention to detail from the tablecloths, to the carefully polished glassware, to the attentive service provided by the staff. The location is perfect for events in Harvard Square and the summer arrangement of the wall opened up to the fresh air is lovely.
Fantastic experience, superb service, great vegetarian options to round out the menu. We will definitely visit again.
The chairs on the standard tables in the main dining room are too low for short people. The tables are folded which makes them higher. I as a senior who is shrinking found it especially uncomfortable. That’s the only issue I had. Otherwise it was excellent.
Service was great. Nicely paced. Very helpful and pleasant waiter. I had mentioned this was for a birthday, and they provided a `cake and a candle' free. The evening was a treat!
