Toscano Harvard Square
Would absolutely recommend for a special event, especially something romantic.
Great food and service before the show.
Once again Toscano proves why it is the top of my list of places to eat when I am in town. The food was delicious, the service (particularly by Miriam, the waitress) was top notch, and the atmosphere inviting. Highly recommend for anyone for any occasion!
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and presented well.
Huge portions, tasty food, very attentive service. We had a good meal!
The people of Toscano are as wonderful as the cuisine. One of the best places to dine and spend an evening among friends.
Excellent service. Very focused on theater timing. Authentically crafted dishes.
Late night dining after a sporting event。 Appreciated the kitchen staying open later。
Good food, dishes are reasonably priced (~$22 for pasta mains). Great service and cozy ambiance.
Delicious eggplant, very good fish and vegetables. The service was quick and the table ready on time. (There is no place to wait, however). The main downside was that the noise level prevented us from hearing the waitress or ourselves for much of the evening. Any modification of the walls or ceiling that could improve the acoustics would be very appreciated.
have been to Toscano on Newbury since i have lived in Boston and now 4th time at Harvard Square location. unmatched, simply, unmatched. our waiter from another country made it look effortless, could recite the long list of daily specials, and was understated in his superb attention
Very extensive menu with quality ingredients and expert preparation. From starters to the mains, satisfied the varied tastes of our party.
Nice place and location. Great choices from the main menu. Specials were Veal Scallopini and a Fish Medley. Both were great.
We were bit late because the theater ran longer than expected. When we walked in the hostess had just give our table away. Nevertheless she took a minute and found us a nearby table for our dinner. Excellent customer service.
Delicious food and excellent service. Swordfish was delicious as was pasta with homemade sausage & truffle sauce.
Wonderful food, excellent wine list, friendly service, convenient location in Harvard Square.
Mitch was amazing. My friend and I were having a farewell meal to celebrate her move to LA, and I made reservations at Toscano because I’ve always enjoyed the food and ambiance. We were greeted warmly by the hostess, and the food and ambience were excellent as usual, but Mitch took things to the next level w/his warmth, hospitality, and superb recommendations. I wouldn’t have had the tenderloin w/that truffle sauce if not for him—neither would I have known to try the flan for dessert. The magic happens off menu, and we appreciated Mitch bringing the magic—many thanks for a superlative meal!
Nice spot for personal or professional dinner. Good food and options. A bit loud and expensive parking but overall great experience.
We enjoyed our antipasti, bruschetta and grilled shrimp. Our entrees, all pasta dishes, were essentially unseasoned. We needed salt (not our general preference) and pepper. The desserts were fine, banana torta and flourless chocolate cake. Overall, the meal was good but not memorable. The service was fine.
Visited on a Monday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had called in advance to arrange a special birthday dessert, and they went out of their way to accommodate my request. The food was superb, as always. Toscano will definitely stay on our short list to celebrate special occasions.
Pretheater meal, our server was awesome and made sure we had enough time. We were able to split appetizers (soup) so that we could taste it. Food and wine superb, and cocktail special to kick it off!
A very nice evening before going to the theatre. Service was great and food delicious.
Food is the worst. Hardly any flavor. Tough as rubber squid, veal. Unimaginative preparation. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Beautiful experience. Staff was attentive but not over bearing. The special pasta dish was beyond delicious. Unfortunately the special fish (sole) didn’t turn out to be so special. The special grilled seaport dish was okay. The white bean soup was delicious as were all desserts. They have great wine pours by the glass (8oz) and creative cocktails. Great dining experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent meal. They knew we were going to a show afterwards and accommodated our schedule.
Toscano never disappoints! The food is delicious, the service is superb, and the food is delicious! I know that I mentioned the food twice... but it had to be said.
So lucky we live one block from this restaurant. So consistently good. We love it.
3 of us- all meals were mediocre, at best. 2 Pasta dishes barely moist- little to no wine sauce evident.
Beef tenderloin dish- meat was gristly. Overall very disappointing.
Another great meal served by an outstanding waiter, Nate. Thank you all!
Disappointing. I had a polenta/mushroom appetizer, as well as a pizza. The appetizer was fine, nothing special, the pizza was bland and the crust was hard. Not pleasantly crunchy - hard. The bread basket was comprised of slices of baguette and focaccia. The baguette was old, and the focaccia only OK. The noise level was high.
Great time, we had a business meeting. Service was Outstanding, food was very good and at a reasonable price. We will definitely come back soon. First time we have been here. Thanks
Everything about this place is 5 stars, but for one glaring exception. My wife and I have been there several times, sometimes just the two of us and twice with another couple. The food is always excellent, the ambience is terrific, the place has great cocktails, and a diverse, reasonably priced Italian wine list. The servers at the tables are outstanding--friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, helpful. BUT!! The front of the house people range from cold to rude, never welcoming. On at least two occasions, after experiencing this we mentioned it to a manager level person as we were leaving. Rather than expressing any concern, or at least mentioning that they were sorry we experienced that, in each instance the manager's reaction was a mix of defensiveness and hostility. The front-of-the house people are consistently among the most unprofessional people we have encountered in years of restaurant dining in Boston, New York, and lots of other places.
One of my favorite restaurants! Great food, terrific service, wonderful atmosphere.
The experience was okay and nothing special. The service was slow. Didn’t feel like we were a priority to the waitress. It is a loud restaurant even in the quiet back room. However the noise level is manageable in the back room. Food was delicious.
Usually I would recommend this place above others in Cambridge, especially since it’s so close for A.R.T. productions. And I was salivating even before I arrived the last time for their magnificent chicken livers entree. This time the chef couldn’t control his u se of the salt shaker both in the chicken livers and the salad I and my companion shared. It was removed from our bill, but I surely hope that chef received a strong message and will mend his ways!
Will give Toscano another chance, but I was so disappointed this time.
Our dinner was basically fine and the food excellent. The occasion was only marred by our server bringing
me the wrong appetizer. This took four minutes to rectify, by which time my companion had finished his.
I left my scarf on another chair at our table. I returned the next day at opening. The same host who seated me the night before greeted me and said: we have your scarf tried to call but could not get thru glad you came back. impressive and worthy custom service. food and beverages were great and table service was gracious and timely.
We always love Toscano’s. It’s a great place for dinner before a show at the ART down the street.
Very tasty meal for a reasonable price (for quality food) Nice ambiance and very good service
Toscano was perfect for a New Years Day lunch. It wasn't crowded, so we felt at ease lingering over the meal, which was, as always, very good.
