Toscana Ratings and Reviews
Service was poor. The waiter forgot our pizza but was kind enough to comp it after I told him he forgot it when our main courses came. He then digit our roasted potato order and a salad. We got the salad but didn’t ever get the potatoes but it was charged for. This place is a staple for me but I sometimes feel they think they are doing me a favor instead of realizing the value of a regular customer. Lately they have lost that living feeling.
Toscana just gets better and better. I've been going g often and like it more each time. Yesterday with good friends who had never been to Toscana. Oliver great service. He has a real understanding of th menu. He made good recommendations for everyone and handled the meal perfectly.
I'll go back soon again. Toscana is a neighborhood gem!!
The place had no ambience at all. The staff was scrambling to get tables together. They were laughing with each other and were very loud. The tables are tiny and the place is super bright. The food was good but a very limited menu. First time i’Ve ever been disappointed in the reviews for a place. This was so off, I will make sure I never go back there.
The more I go to Toscana the more I like it. This was a get together with a friend/client I had not seen in years. She drove all the way from Long Beach. The weather was awful. Toscana perfect for a rainy daylong lunch and good talk. We each had pasta--delicious. Service perfect. Lunch much more quiet than dinner when there are too many tables with kids, but still like Toscana.
This is my go to lunch place now that Bouchon Beverly Hills is gone. And it is closer to home. Win-Win.
Had an early supper on New Years Eve, service was excellent. I liked that they allowed wine tasting even for a glass of wine order. Having been to Tuscany I felt the food was authentic to the region. Overall good food and service so I will return. The restaurant is in a nondescript building so minimal wow factor from the outside.
A terrific meal, with wonderful food and excellent service. Service was professional, courteous, prompt and unobtrusive. The food was simple and superb - well prepared and great ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and welcoming. A perfect evening.
Service busy but not attentive. Almost impossible to get water refilled (yes, we had a bottle of wine as well, but it is Southern California where you can't be without your water). Bit of a rush getting plates off the table as soon as last bite gone. Wine steward did not listen when we said didn't need a wine cooler because the wine was right temperature - he was looking around the room as if we didn't exist. The tomato, onion and cucumber salad was remarkably tasteless, in large part because the tomatoes were industrial strength- not farmers market- and not even appropriately cored. Other dishes OK, but didn't stand out. Not a bad meal, but not one to make one rush back, for sure.
My meal at Toscana was disappointing. The rack of lamb was slightly overcooked and the chicken with artichokes was most unsatisfactory. I have visited Toscana on many occasions and tend to find this restaurant to be rather good. Unfortunately, like many establishments, they are not terribly consistent in the quality and preparation. With much competition in Los Angeles, their future depends upon their ability to prepare consistently high quality Italian cuisine.
