We are open lunch and dinner seven days a week and serve a special brunch on weekends.
My go-to restaurant when I’m traveling to New York! Such a great place with amazing food and fantastic service!
The food and service were very good. Upstairs is quieter and more intimate. I would recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service. We were not rushed into ordering while enjoying cocktails and catching up. Food was delicious, authentic and plentiful. Great server and attentive maitre d’. Will definitely return!
One of my favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan. The food is excellent and the service is great.Always busy with a really nice atmosphere.
We came to the restaurant and were immediately greeted and checked in for our reservation. The restaurant was gorgeous and bustling with customers. We were very early and were directed to the bar. We ordered a glass of wine and took in the ambiance while noticing how such a good time everyone was having. The atmosphere was incredible, the service top notch, everyone was so friendly and the food was phenomenal!
I rarely write reviews but we had high hopes for this dining experience-they have such a great space and bar area and it began as a promising evening with a pleasant bar tender and waiter. At some point our waiter switched to servicing the upstairs and I understand if they got busy, but there was no graceful transition to a different waiter, so it was confusing and then just annoying. Our new waiter was abrupt. Neither the busboy and nor manager who was also bussing tables spoke or made eye contact with us when clearing dishes or dropping off plates. They were quite rushed and we honestly felt unwelcome. Perhaps they were understaffed but quality dining at this price calls for better service. The food was decent although the room temp cheesecake was bordering on warm and was too soft. Cocktail was well made although on the pricey side. I ordered the lasagne he which was very nice, well made and tasty although the waiter (#2) seemed unhappy i ordered it as it takes an extra 30 minutes to prepare. I would return to try again based on the food but not the service.
I I had a wonderful Sunday brunch .Excellent food and service.
Incredible food! Highly recommend! Walking distance from the Marriott! Trust me you cannot go wrong for authentic Italian.
Small and cramped restaurant but the AC was not strong enough to cool the dining room.! The food was average to below average but the service was terrible. In fact when the first dish came out which was not to our liking, The waiter defended the kitchen by telling us it was made three days ago and that is how it is!
Food is basic noise is terrible quality is basic nothing is good except of low price.
This was simply put one of the best meals I have ever eaten. We had two appetizers, salad and then a main course. It was delicious, the server was great and even his assistants were friendly and efficient.
Fantastic food and service. Went back following night with party of six!
I went here last night. When we walked in the hostess ruined the experience. She did not smile walk away and said nothing very rude. I may have given a higher rating if this was not my greeting. The waiter was not friendly but the service was very good. I had the pasta with black pepper and cheese it was good not great it was a little lacking in flavor. My husband and cousin had the steak they were good, my other cousin had the salmon and she said it was very good. The wine list is okay not great, most of the bottle retail for under 20 dollars so they aren't the best wines. The dessert was very good, my espresso tasted burnt. Overall good but not great. In a pinch for Manhattan the prices are good and the food is decent
Nice room. Smallish, but it did not get noisy. The food was quite good, and the service was polite but a little uneven.
Wonderful place. Love coming here . Staff and management are awesome and very welcoming, food is absolutely delicious. Make sure to book ahead because is always packed.
We arrived late on a Monday evening, but still we had a very warm welcome from the manager and great service .The food was excellent, also the wine list.
Food was good and I wanted to like this place but they played bait and switch with the wine list.
I have recommended Toscana 49 to friends and none has been disappointed. Consistency is what is is all about and, since its opening, Toscana 49 has offered excellent food with professional yet friendly service without fail. The menu is varied enough to satisfy everyone and at a very reasonable prices. I have enjoyed lunch, dinner and brunch -- all of which have been consistently excellent.
We felt quite comfortable when we first sat down, but after the waiter flooded the table when pouring the water and then wandered off without so much as a by your leave, we were astonished. The food was pretty good but got to say the standard of waiting was poor. We felt like it was an effort to serve us. Shame, as it’s a nice venue.
The food and service were good but it was really noisy and cramped. Our evening was spoilt by a large group behind us who were making making a lot of noise talking/shouting to be heard and swearing. I am aware this is not the restaurant fault and they can’t vet their customers.
Lovely and bustling
The food here is always great. I brought my sister and her current husband (of 39 years) and, unsolicited, they let it be known this was the best meal they'd had while visiting the city. Toscana 49 has NEVER disappointed.
Fantastic Service and Fantastic food. They accommodate vegetarians and are large group friendly.
The staff was attentive and accommodating to our child. The food was delicious and prepared according to our special requests. The delicious tomato condiment served with the bread is addictive. Overall a great neighborhood spot for any day of the week.
This was the third time at Toscana 49 and the food was fantastic. The only negative was that a couple of people in the party felt that the Waiter was a bit “snippy”. If the food wasn’t so good maybe that would have been a problem but overall the Restaurant is wonderful. Will definitely be back there again.
It was my second visit at Toscana49,and I loved it like the first time. Very busy restaurant with great food and service .
I normally dine on the west side, but had need to be on east side and wanted to get a quick but nice dinner with my wife from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. We were seated promptly at 6:30 and place was pretty busy for a Tuesday. Service was attentive, food was very good and nice ambiance. Wine was a little pricey but overall was a very good experience. Would definitely return in the future.
I made a reservation for four on Saturday night. We came because of the good reviews and were not disappointed. We were on the younger side of those at the restaurant but the food and service were both great. Would come again.
This restaurant was fantastic. If you are visiting New York City- get away from time square and venture to this place. Lunch menu was an excellent value, and they serve authentic Italian .Service was superb!
I went to Toscana 49 based on the many positive reviews on the food and service. The service wasn't bad, definitely felt a bit rushed though. The food was the real disappointment. Tried out a few appetizers and they were so bland, including the boring caprese which was 3 slices of tomato and 3 pieces of mozzarella, neither of which had any flavor. The salumi plate was your standard Italian cuts, but not very good ones. Definitely the bargain basement cuts. For the next courses, glad we only ordered pastas and not meats as well. The pastas were messy examples of something italian looking. One person ordered the risotto and it was nothing but a slop of watery sauce, a pound of mushy-mushrooms and risotto. There were more mushrooms than risotto! It was not good at all. No one really enjoyed any of the food. I'm just so surprised that there are so many positive reviews. Definitely won't be back.
We all had a wonderful time. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. Food was excellent! We will be back😊
Amazing restaurant, nice Italian gem in the city. Made reservations, only had to wait about 5 min and we were taken upstairs to a beautiful candle lit dinner. Awesome place, would def recommend
Amazing service and amazing food, my favorite place to eat in NYC .
homemade spinach pasta was served in various shapes and sizes with a variety of sauces -- all were excellent and reasonably priced. drinks were a bit pricey ($15 for vodka on the rocks). service was good but nothing special. on a weekday night, it was quite loud, so be prepared.
The restaurant was very busy in a Wednesday night which was a good sign .We were seated right away from a very welcoming manager ,and our experience at the place was just great.Top notch restaurant with impeccable service, and extraordinary food. The atmosphere closely resembles Europe.
Like many restaurants in NYC the table for four was small, but the food and drinks were very good. Would recommend Toscana 49.
Toscana 49 has wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. I've been there many times ,and always had a great experience. The servers are all friendly and informed. One of the managers remembered my previous visit and were I was sitting . I felt very special.
Was questioned as to whether in fact my wife and I had reservation thru OPEN TABLE - in fact had to show 3 different places on my mobile proving that I had made a reservation. Certainly doesn’t put OPEN TABLE in the best light. My wife had a taste of wine to decide if it was to her taste and she was accused of “drinking half the glass”. Perhaps I’m too “old school” but this is insulting both to me and to OPEN TSBLE. Food mediocre at best;realistically a d- ambiance was chaos;studies have shown to be relaxed at the time of dining is key. Well, good luck with that at Toscano49. Basically a tourist trap. Awful experience; my family was in the restaurant business for 3
generations- I know it’s difficult, but this experience could
never be recommended.
Our reservation was at 6:00 and it took them 15 minutes to prepare a table although there were several available. Staff all seemed to be running around but not doing anything productive. When we were finally seated we were then ignored for the next 10 minutes. We got up and left and walked 2 blocks to another Italian restaurant that was outstanding!
Very Good for the price. I would go back there again. (Upstairs is quieter than downstairs.)
