Tosca Ristorante - Ottawa
As soon as you walk in you will be greeted with a combination of traditional Italian color ways of patina, stone, and rich wood. This essence has been incorporated in every detail of this charming and sophisticated restaurant and bar; from Tosca's creative Italian menu and selected wine list, to the inviting interiors providing for a comfortable, intimate and memorable experience.
The food is very average, some food came
cold, and very unexciting. Balsamic glaze from à off the shelf average bottle, Plain food in pretty dishes. Marsha sauce was ready made. Desert menu has listed a chocolate fondant which when served is just à chocolate cake and staff do not even know the difference.
Excellent service with Brad and all the plates were really good. Nothing extravagant but well executed.
Tosca's is a very classy restaurant, great food and service. I will definitely return and recommend this place.
Excellent food. Staff were quite attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. The food was fantastic from the appetizer, main meal to dessert. The ambiance was great and we did not feel rushed. Perfect!
Unfortunately it was probably the worst Italian meal that we have had in a restaurant. Both of the sauces on our pastas tasted funky (kind of like the sauce in a can of Chef Boyardee!). We got calamari as well and it was definitely frozen calamari from a bag deep fried. Sauce along side of that was terrible as well. The restaurant itself is nice and service was also fine. Diassappinting food especially since we haven’t been able
To get out in ages :(
Food was very good/waiter was excellent/very nice restaurant.
Would definitely recommend
Pomodoro sauce wasn’t great. Other than that, good experience
The grilled calamari was excellent. Perfect blend of spices to create a nice savory heat that was not pandering to those with a spice aversion. A remarkable dish cooked to perfection.
The rack of lamb was an experience and was paired with a nice penne pasta with a spicy tomato sauce. Praises to the chef who isn't afraid to go big and bold and to actually use flavor on their menu.
I will be returning again and again
wonderful food. The lemon sorbet was terrific. Service was attentive
No disappointments to be experienced here! All is as it should be. Congratulations!
Good food and wine! Great recommendations from the wait staff.
Excellent food, nice size portions and extensive selections. A must stop for downtown Ottawa!
Great food! Attentive service with a great atmosphere.
Tosca is go-to restaurant for me in Ottawa. Very good service and delicious food are consistent at Tosca.
Veal Marsala was not freshly cooked and waitress did not check that we had no forks after Mussels appetizer. Also bread tray was not refreshed. I was disappointed.
Fast and delicious
Wonderful evening at Tosca Sunday night. Very busy with a nice buzz and service was excellent. Our waiter Zou was outstanding with prompt service and nice pace to our dinner. Food delicious and nicely presented. Grazie 🍷😍
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in Ottawa and chose this place because we both love Italian food. It was a good choice! The ambiance was romantic, the service was great, and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place!
We chose Tosca because the menu and wine list looked good, and with nice prices. My dining mate liked his main course, but our appetizers were bland, and my thinly-sliced veal was way over-cooked and had very little flavor. There wasn't much meat on the plate, which explains the low price of the dish. I'm okay with that part of it, but it was just not great. The service was good. The wines we ordered were just okay.
A nice italian restaurant with good food, charming ambiance and excellent service.
Very nice ambience, great Service, good menu that is well executed.
Food and service were both excellent, we were pleasantly surprised. My only criticism is that the restaurant was a little dark (and I usually do like like it on the dim side), but the rest was great. Will make a point of going back, for sure.
Really good for my birthday dinner!
The decor and service were very good. The tiramisu dessert was outstanding. I was dining with 2 of my friends. None of us found our main meals especially delicious. They were hot and pleasant but not exceptionally tasty. Prices were a bit high for pasta.
The antipasto platter was too meat heavy
Excellent restaurant. The service was great and everyone looked after us. The food came out hot and very quick. My wife and I had the smelts and shared a salad and risotto. The portions were generous. Even though the restaurant was busy it wasn’t loud! We would definitely recommend this restaurant! We hope to return next time we are in Ottawa.
Great customer service!
Excellent calamari and veal parmigiana. Totally would recommend!
We arrived with high expectations. The seats and menus were very weathered. However, the food and wine were delicious. We left feeling good about our choice and our dinner overall.
The service was enthusiastic and friendly. Food very good. Quiet for visiting.
Felt listening to and really viewed by the entire serving team as a very important customer, great people and great happy staff....
Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Would visit again!
Fettuccine Domenico is my absolute favourite dish. Wine list is okay; not a huge selection. I do like that they play Italian music rather than top 40 from the radio. We ordered calamari as appetizers, and they were so fresh and yummy: lightly battered, good dipping sauce on the side. Downtown neighborhood gem!
Good variety for all Italian foodies. Service was very attentive and very pleasant. Good variety on menu, something for any Italian foodie. Food from appetizer to desert was excellent. Kudos to Chef.
The antipasti misto was great, good selection of cheeses and meats and lots of choice too. Main courses are standard fare for an Italian restaurant.
I took my daughter to Tosca when I was visiting her in Ottawa. I wasn’t sure of my train timing so booked the table for a bit later. The restaurant was very accommodating when we arrived 1/2 hour early.
We were seated in a comfortable spot and the service was wonderful. My daughter does not have a huge appetite so we ordered 2 appetizers and one main to share. The serving sizes were quite generous. The waiter asked the kitchen to split our lasagna for us which was nice. A 1/2 serving was the same size as I serve at home for a full serving so glad we shared. The lasagna was super cheesy with a nice meat sauce. Altogether very enjoyable. The zucchini fritti (app) was good although it reminded me a lot of pickle fries (somehow I had imagined coins of zucchini rather than sticks).
The Caesar salad was tasty and not to ‘anchovy-y’.
