Tosca Ratings and Reviews
Tosca is my favorite go-to when business associates or friends ask me for recommendations about where to go. I'm never disappointed and my dinner pals are always happy. I was happy to see a somewhat similar elderflower drink to the one I asked the bartender to make way back when this spirit first came into this area. I still prefer it without the blackberries but glad it's even on the menu!
Hostess completely ignored us upon arrival and helped the people that came in immediately behind us. Another host arrived and also ignored us. We must have been invisible. The. food and our waitress were great. I won’t hurry back though. Felt too cliquey and exclusionary.
Everything from when we were seated until we left was fantastic for our birthday celebration!
The wine list at Tosca is outstanding! The food was fantastic! I highly recommend the steak medallions . (this is also a gluten free option!
There was something for everyone in our party!
The quality of food on Friday evening under-performed expectations. The “chicken under a brick” was rubbery and the marsala sauce thin and lacking flavor. The pasta was overcooked and the sauces seemed thin. The mushroom pate was very nice. Great wine list, experienced waitstaff and good ambience. Not their best effort on that night, and at this price point I would expect better effort from the kitchen.
Our waiter was fabulous and food delicious. I will say we did fill pushed by the Manager who kept coming by and glancing at our table. We actually asked our waiter and he said it wasn’t us. However, he made us feel rushed so we settled the tab and moved to the bar. It wasn’t that busy and it did seem really pushy. Otherwise, everything else was awesome.
Worthy of our 44th wedding anniversary. The cocktail menu was not long but creative ideas on the classics. I had the blackberry mojito - delicious. Choosing appetizers was difficult with so many choices. Winners were oysters, butternut squash soup, beet salad and a classic Caesar. My duck breast was perfectly cooked as medium rare with a fig paste/ sauce. A side dish of chestnut bread pudding was a perfect match for the duck. A Halibut main course special was delicious with a butternut risotto was also a excellent. The two other main courses ordered by our party, sirloin medallions and pasta with boar ragu received rave reviews. A donut dessert and gelato topped off a great meal. Hats off to Tosca.
Foid was excellent: swordfish, pasta, calamari, beet & goat cheese salad all great. Drinks not cheap but generous portions
We asked for a table in the smaller, quieter room and were given one in front of a French door though others were available. All went well until half way through our meal the band started coming in through the doors and we we got a blast of cold air every few minutes. They also set up within a couple feet if our table. Turned what should have been a lovely evening into a bummer.
Management said the band should have used another door and said they were sorry but that was it.
Had another great dinner at Tosca. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was hopping but we were seated within a couple of minutes of our reservation. We had our usual appetizers which are always fabulous, oysters and the liver and onions. For main course my brother had the venison which he said was perfect and I had the wood grilled salmon also delicious. You can’t go wrong at Tosca. We come here a lot and have never been disappointed.
This was our second trip to Tosca, and somehow it exceeded my expectations yet again. The filet was incredible, as was the box of shrimp, the mashed potatoes, and the wonderful duck dish. My wife loved it and since it was her birthday, that made me very happy as well.
Tosca is in our neighborhood and is a consistent “go-to” restaurant when we want a pleasant atmosphere, solid menu options and first-rate wine choices. Waiters are well informed and responsive. Host/hostess service is inconsistent in terms of being accommodating.
Food was good but not great. Main meal brought to the table while we were eating salad - no no. Especially since we had asked that they wait until we were done with salad before bringing meal. Not sure but think it may have waited under heat lamp after we told them we weren’t ready. For the price they should have done better. Still the most beautiful and festive place I have ever seen - a victim of their own success!
Great food and wonderful service...always enjoy Tosca. Restaurant was busy but acoustics made it possible for my husband and I to talk without difficulty. Service was friendly without being intrusive. They made dessert special for our anniversary. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Tosca is a very attractive room with consistently good food and exceptional service. However, it is unreasonably expensive. There are other restaurants in the area that are just as good, at a much lower price point. Dinner for two for $220 is a bit out there. The noise level is troublesome as well - you almost can't have a conversation - the room's acoustics are not set up for quiet dining and the tables are crammed together as well. So, while the food is great every time we go, the ambiance and price point won't ever make it my "go to" place.
From the time we placed our entree to when we actually received the meal (steaks) it was over 50 minutes and this was early in the evening (the restaurant was not packed). The waitress came to the table a couple times and asked if we needed anything , when we inquired what was taking so long, she did not seem concerned. When the food finally arrived (after at least 50 minutes) the steaks arrived luke warm at best. We were all hungary so we just accepted the food since we did not want to wait any longer.
