Another outstanding dinner at the South Shore's best, most consistent restaurant. We requested 2 bar/counter seats when we made the Open Table reservation, and got to sit and watch the line prepare our and many other diner's orders - all without a seeming hitch. The Negroni and Catcher in the Rye cocktails were tasty. We had bolognese and a skirt steak (served over the panzanella salad that has somehow disappeared from the nightly menu [Pls bring it back!]) Flawless service, as usual.
We were seated promptly at 5PM... And we ate & talked & before we knew it, it was 10PM!! The restaurant/kitchen closes at 9PM... It had been 2 years since we had gotten together, and the time flew... no pressure from staff re: us seated for so long!! We didn’t even notice we were last ones in the restaurant!!! The food was delicious! (I️ especially LOVED the artisanal breads... chocolate chip and cherry was so good, I️ would have bought some to take home, if I️ could have.. we asked!!) Our wait staff were exceptional, especially in that we did not feel rushed to order until we talked for a while, had a drink, etc, and again after we finished eating- we never felt rushed to leave after finishing our meal... we didn’t realize how late it was, and did apologize for staying so long.... but, as I️ said, staff was so accommodating!! We will definitely return to this great restaurant!!
Large party of 14, had great service from Robin and a great meal. Everyone went really well, including our late change to double the party size and advanced notice of where our table would be. The food was terrific, I had not been here in a while but I will make sure it isn’t so long before we return. Sunday late afternoon time was a whole different ambiance than a busy Saturday night, much quieter and very enjoyable.
Overall it was terrific. Only one of the four entrees was a bit off - too heavy and the scallops were a bit rubbery. But the wine, service , starters and atmosphere were all wonderful.
Ryan made the night special!
Excellent management, food and service
10 year anniversary dinner. Had 8 pm reservation for 2 on a saturday night. Place was packed and i assumed they were running behind so we grabbed drink at the bar. At 8pm the GM Chris Sugrue said our table was ready so we sat
and had a lovely meal. We both had filet and it was delicious! Our server was really good and very attentive without being intrusive. Dining two tables away from us was Bill Belechick and his GF! Apparently he is a
Regular :) great night, great food and drinks and lovely warm friendly atmosphere. We will be back!
Ordered the calamari appetizer and it was amazing! Definitely get that if it is on the menu! Entrees of scallops over risotto and short rib ragu were both delicious!
My swordfish was prepared exactly the way I requested. My husband had the bison bolognese and enjoyed his meal. It was a bit pricey but very good food.
What can I say. Great meal all around from the appetizers to the desserts. For entrees, we had the swordfish with mussels, scallops, filet mignon with truffle butter . All excellent. Our server was very helpful, efficient, there but never overbearing. We were there for Easter Sunday, so we did have a half hour wait for a table of 6 reservation. Everyone had a great time.
We had a large group (14) for a wonderful extended family Easter dinner.
The food, wine, and service were all Excellent!
As is always our experience at Tosca...
Highly recommend Tosca for any occasion-
My favorite local restaurant!!
Tosca never disappoints! Perfect vodka martini to start at the bar. Our reservation was spot on and our table was ready on time. We began our dining journey with the Cheese Board followed by the Chopped Salad and the Mushroom Pizza. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu items and wine. Another great experience at Tosca!
Family gathering and we were very disappointed. Service was good, nice atmosphere but that is the end of positives. The seven of us had different meals and not one would even be worth a 4 rating. Also, so loud we could not talk! Not accommodating to vegan at our table either...one option (not on the menu). Hate to give a bad review but so dissatisfied!
We always love Tosca but they outdid themselves this time. I have many allergies ( dairy, gluten, etc.) and they made me the most perfectly cooked and delicious ( huge) piece of cod I've ever had. It was amazing and greatly appreciated! Best of all, I had no reactions so it really was prepared carefully.
I have been dining at Tosca for many years. It is my favorite restaurant. The food and the experience are consistently excellent.
Andrea was an amazing server!
Tomahawk Steak was so delicious.
Great restaurant, one of our favorites. Great food, beautiful presentation and very popular!
For my 50th birthday celebration. Lovely ambiance, cozy atmosphere.
Waitress was amazing. Food is excellent. Drinks perfect.
Food and service were excellent as usual. Always consistent that’s why we continue to dine there .
Most restaurants have up and down days, but I've never come away from an evening at Tosca without the feeling of being completely satisfied. The food, drink, and service you'll find at Tosca is top notch.
From the GM Chris Sugrue to the busboy and everyone in between they are courteous, accommodating and truly professional.
It was a delicious meal that was beautifully presented. The service was excellent and we loved the dessert ! Tosca is probably the best So Shore restaurant!
Waited more than 30min past reservation time after being told it would be 5-10min. Gnocchetti appetizer was excellent; venison entree was overcooked. Service from bartender and wait staff was excellent.
Everything was phenomenal except the table. It was as if it was just thrown in the plan for the weekend. It was in a high traffic area by the wait station/kitchen and hung awkwardly between two other tables at the end of the a half wall. I often see this with Open Table reservations at the higher end restaurants. I almost would have preferred to wait 30 minutes at the bar for a better table.
Our 50th anniversary! Everything was wonderful. Chris the manager was great as was Peter our server
The food was good and had a nice selection. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly waitstaff
We love Tosca but there was an awkward moment with our desserts. I had asked that we have a candle in a dessert to celebrate a birthday but since the birthday celebrant didn't order a dessert they chose my dessert as the B day candle torta writing Happy Birthday around the plate. So my father the BDay person blows out the candle and proceeded to give me my dessert! For a $350.00 meal spring for the extra exclusive B day dessert! Just silly and it impacted my take on Tosca forever.
Never disappointing, always enjoyable. Our go to place.
A great place that never disappoints. I give it 5 stars for value because even though it's expensive, you get your money's worth. Great food and professional service. We can't afford to go often, but we make an effort now and then a for special occasions or a treat. Tosca falls into the "fine dining" category, but they have a good selection and the menu is very accessible. Plan ahead as Tosca is very busy most Saturday nights and you will want to have a reservation.
Our server was absolutely amazing! We were there for my dad’s birthday with our toddler and she went out of her way to make it extra special!
Great cozy atmosphere. Wine menu is outstanding. Appetizers were delicious. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the wild boar bolognese and it was very rich and tasty. Lemoncelo and creamed brûlée for dessert! Oh and don't forget the chocolate cherry bread they served with our wine. Perfect meal . Thank you..
Mother’s 70th birthday dinner
My experience at Tosca in Hingham Mass was as follows: no appearance of the restaurant is very pretty it's and Extremely Loud for upscale classy fine dining. A bit different from the website photographs. The food was delicious I would definitely recommend it for the value of the food only. However the first service experience we receive displeased myself and my husband. my waiter was very unattentive. Hourglass line was removed from the table and I'll wait wait or did not ask us if we would want wine for dinner. I had to ask him to bring by the wine glass in the wine list and another waiter that was waiting at another table with the direction I think the manager of the restaurant brought us bread .I had to ask for a bag to bring home my leftovers. The service can be much better but the food is delicious
Great food, great staff, great service. Wine was a bit expensive, but not unexpected, good selection between $52-$75. Server was knowledgeable and helpful. Steak was fantastic.
Tosca never fails. Always “spot on”. Delicious! Good wine list.
Never had a bad experience here. Food and drinks are amazing! The prices are great for the high quality food that they put out and the service is spot on. Our server Andrea made our night even better.
Rachel our server was great!
We were seated right away. We always request Cheryl as our server as she always goes about and beyond making every dinning experience special.
The meal was wonderful as always . The food is always consistent never had a meal we didn’t like.
Loved the ambiance there, thought they had live music and found out it was the Sonos system, great music selections and clarity. We were fortunate enough to get two seats at the saute/open kitchen bar, it was fun to see the chefs prepare the dinners and to get a look at future meals to order. Pizza looked great! We arrived two hours before our reservation in hopes of having a drink or two at the bar before dinner unfortunately there was no turnover so we stood in the bar area and had a couple of drinks. Food and service were great! Menu was a bit pricey but we knew this going in so we weren't shocked. We look forward to coming back and trying some other dinner options.
