I was having lunch with a colleague after a morning-long meeting. We decided to try Toro Toro because we like to visit places that neither of us has been before. We decided to go with the lunch special that included all of the small plates on the menu for $19. We chose a few items and then our server suggested even more. We had everything from beef skewers to brussel sprouts and everything was delicious. I asked about the weekend brunch and found out they have a buffet and a bottomless mimosa bar! I will be back when I have more time to over-indulge!
Absolutely loved the food. Did the all inclusive small plates and really enjoyed everything. Plus our server was entertaining and very helpful. Would definitely come back.
Music from the club below made it a little difficult to talk at the table but otherwise we very much enjoyed our evening
Great variety and good value from an all-you-can-eat-to-order menu. Full points for flavor, freshness, and fun. And the servers were helpful and responsive. Loved everything.
Food & service were exceptional as always. Thank you Dillan!
Music far too loud. :(
The food was good and pretty much made up for the service, which was incredibly friendly but inattentive nonetheless.
Food was great, service was great. Can’t beat it.
The service was absolutely fantastic with an attentive staff handling our orders and refilling our drinks. He made a booboo on the initial check but immediately told us and fixed it with a new receipt before we even signed. Food was great and a good size for 2 ladies. Drinks were sweet but paired with the food nicely.
I’ll be back again on many other occasions!
Fantastic service and food. Don’t try doing the math just get the all you can eat special and enjoy all the fantastic choices.
Nice spot for dinner, great ambiance, music was a little too loud for having convo. Food service was good but there was always a delay on refilling drinks. We seemed to have two waitresses assigned and there was a disconnect between them as to who was to check in on our status. Fix those couple issues and Toro will be aces. Look forward to coming back
Unlimited small plates is the way to go. Great way to sample lots of different dishes. Affordable & fun! Arnoldo is a spectacular waiter. Don’t miss dessert!!
Menu options changed dramatically. There was only red meat available and one pasta dish. Not the Toro Toro I am accustom to.
The vibe was definitely upbeat and it was pretty crowded. That being said, it was fun and the food was pretty good. I would recommend for a small group of friends.
love it !!!! it was great the attention had an awsome brunch everything was excellent :) will go back for sure
MY REQUEST FOR SINGING "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" WAS NOT FULFILLED
The service was excellent and the bartender/server named James went above and beyond for our party of 10. Thank you!
A dear friend of mine suggested Toro Toro for my birthday brunch. With delight, I recommend this place for any occasion! The guacamole, mimosas, and omelettes were my favorite! Dylan was my server and he did an amazing job with my 14 guests. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, and even better staff!!
The food was good, but in a very small portion. We received very little fries, but everything had good flavor. The churros were amazing! We went on a Saturday night and the dance floor was amazing!!! We had a blast.
Took a bit for seating , once seated Asmir our server was great , the tasting menu and drink special was a hit , food arrived quickly and drinks were on the dot. From initial small plates to the dessert “la bomba” was a great finale. Our servers attention made the night a success.
We did the unlimited tapas option. Very tasty and fun to get lots of different dishes.
It’s been awhile since i brunched here and i remembered why this past visit. The quality/options of the food went down and they added more tables to where it’s hard to get around. They also used to give you the liquor so you had the options to add the lemonade yourself which was not the case this time. The most annoying thing was the noise level and the fact that no one was around to pick up the piling plates on our table.
This was a ton of fun - we loved the all you can eat tapas, not only because there was lots of food, but because there were so many choices, such diversity of beef, pork, chicken, fish, vegetarian, vegan, some typical Latin tapas and many very original small plates too, not to mention great desserts. Among our group of 6 , we each took the $39 special, some had extra drinks, and overall terrific value - particularly as some of our group are genuine "foodies", and we felt the quality, preparations, originality were exceptional. We had a great evening, not often do 6 foodies leave a dinner and say, "wow"!
It was upsetting to see how far they have fallen off.
The quality of food was short from what we had last time we visited (which was about 6 months ago), the wait staff didn’t come to our table until we approached them, the drinks were supposed to be “spiked” and they were pure lemonade, and when we got them switched it took them at least 20 minutes to get back with our inquiry. We ended up just leaving early and disappointed.
Our server, Anthony, not only took better care of us than expected, but also made sure other patrons had essential supplies like tongs and serving spoons when such was missing from the brunch table.
The best touches were quinoa at the buffet and Anthony’s sense of humor. Dylan also complimented Anthony’s service with assistance and insighful conversation.
food was good. service was GREAT. my mimosa glass was never empty. we came for my boyfriend's birthday and the wonderful chef Viviana brought out a happy birthday dessert and a champagne toast. Will definitely be back!
Dinner at Toro Toro DC truly is an event! The modern Pan-Latin dishes are all small plates and sharing is strongly encouraged. We shared a variety of dishes including the house guacamole, pancetta Brussels sprouts, crispy Baja fish tacos, miso salmon and ceviche nikkei. Everything was amazing. Several things made Toro Toro a special night. Aside from the delicious food, the setting encouraged a relaxed dining experience. The staff were great and our server, Danielle, was amazing. Her expertise of the menu and recommendations were exactly what we needed. The evening was capped off by her suggestion of the grand finale of the La Bomba dessert. A must if you go there. I will definitely go again!
Everything was good except the noise level was too much to have a proper conversation without screaming. But as the dinner rush was over, it got quiter.
The food was amazing, and very reasonably priced. We had a party of 9, including one vegan, and all of us were completely happy with the selections.
I enjoyed the ambiance but I was disappointed with my meals. I ordered the fried rice with no meat and they bought me the dish with steak in it. I then ordered the Miso Salmon and when I began to eat it I noticed it was raw on the inside. I eventually just settled for the Spicy Shrimp and a couple of glasses of cabernet. The waitress was very apologetic and I appreciated that immensely.
I took a group of 6 to Toro Toro for a business dinner. We all had the tasting plate and it was the very best. Our waiter, Dylan, did an excellent job of selecting various things for us to try. He was very engaging and could not have done a better job! He did an excellent job of interacting with us while not being invasive (a true gift)! Our group totally enjoyed the food and the experience! Dessert is a must!
Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's very noisy . Otherwise, fantastic.
Our server was extremely attentive. The food was delicious, came out quickly, and the portions were large for the amazing price. I went for my birthday dinner they had a variety of healthy options in addition to the heavier dishes. Some MAJOR take aways from the meal included the mojitos, tortilla soup, arroz chaufa (fried rice), crispy shrimp, pork spare ribs, churros, and la bomba dessert. They were all phenomenal. Some things to skip over - margarita, guac with plantain chips, salmon tiradito, and miso salmon. Not that these weren't also yummy - just not "must-have-again" dishes for us. All in all, great experience and would absolutely go again. The atmosphere was fun, modern, and lively. Great for big groups.
Energetic environment, great food, great service. Will definitely be back.
Stopped in tonight with a coworker and good friend for restaurant week. The food was very good and our server was ON POINT. She kept the plates coming, checked in frequently, and proved to have a comprehensive knowledge of the menu as her suggestions were spot on. My only complaint is that my drinks were much weaker than i usually have here and also much sweeter. I ordered the Caipirinha, as usual, but tonight they were just off. Thats all. Given my total experience i was still overall quite pleased and will return yet again... more than likely for brunch for the mimosas.
Loved the service and food.
Great food, and great service! Well worth it for restaurant week.
The restaurant week deal was amazing! I’d definitely go again
Excellent food and service! Great drinks! Take advantage of unlimited tapas menu with drinks!!
We had their Unlimited Small Plates..a pretty good deal, the portions are just enough, so you can try several different things. Service was great- thanks to Celia and the rest of the staff. We will be coming back!
