Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar
We celebrated our 40th Anniversary with our friends there that evening! Everything was awesome!! We all enjoyed very much!! Just prefect!! We will go back anytime!!!
Great food. Great staff
Our meal included sushi; which was just okay tasting, we had the pork bao buns and snapper, both were over cooked, the octopus was very good. We sat at the bar and the service was a little inattentive, we had to flag the server a couple of times for drinks. Everyone was very pleasant but the food itself was disappointing.
While the view of the golf course is absolutely stunning, and the rum libations are very well-made cocktails, the overall cost is extraordinarily high and does not match the tropical fried rice dish that lacks any sort of flavor or seasoning. My dining companion's steak was delicious, though. Portions are quite small.
Sat at the bar server was inattentive !
Had the best Miso Cod,, outstanding. Also I had the Surf and Turf roll which was excellent.
We went for New Year's and had a great feast.
Fantastic food!! The Ancient Grains salad, Scallops and Shishito Peppers were especially awesome. Great view of golf course.
The prices were on the high side ($15.00 for one Margarita!!??.. c’mon!)....but definitely will be back (and order beer instead lol). Highly recommend
I would recommend it but, I would have to let them know why I think it was good versus great. The food overall was good nothing special. The noise is louder than we expected. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly but, we really wanted to enjoy our time and wine initially. Our waiter came over literally every 60 seconds to 2 minutes to keep asking are we ready to order yet and we said not for a little bit and he still came back in 60 seconds. This went on the entire time there from sitting down to order drinks, to appetizers and to the main course. He response was he has to keep checking in every 5 minutes but, it was 60 seconds to 2 minutes.
Steaks were full of fat. Food was of poor quality and expensive for what you get.
Amazing place! This is the second year in a row that we have spent Christmas Day at the Princess. Food at Toro never disappoints! It’s presentation is gorgeous and it tastes even better!! Then the fun activities at the Princess tops off the night! Best Christmas ever!!
Everything was good. The fish portions are a bit small and the sushi prices were very high. $17 for 6 Pieces of sushi.
What a terrific restaurant! Great cocktails, an inventive menu, delicious food, and great service. This meal was a real treat!
This was during the Christmas festivities, there were a lot of small kids whining, Christmas Parties, etc. noise level was at a peak. I live in N Scottsdale, and had visitors from out of town. I’ve eaten here before, and it was quite the opposite. This time, It wasn’t relaxing at all. Also the Surf & Turf Sushi was awful. I also noticed the servers were all dressed in jeans...very strange for such an upscale establishment.
The only good thing about this experience was the service.
this restaurant is simply fantastic. I highly recommend the CHIFA and the dessert crepes. The drinks are also very good. This is a fantastic place to eat with friends. I would return.
Ray was our Server and was so nice and polite and made us feel welcome upon entering and leaving Toro. We loved and enjoyed the food! It was quiet and nice, making it enjoyable and relaxing in addition to us able to hear each other talk to one another. Ray went above and beyond to make it the chilliest yet most enjoyable dinner night for my fiance's birthday. I appreciate it so much Ray!
This is a go-to staple of mine every time I’m in Scottsdale on business. The food is amazing! Service is impeccable. Love the atmosphere of upscale chic overlooking the beautiful 18th hole of the famous Stadium TPC Scottsdale Course. And, if you have any money left, you can shop at one of the best golf pro shops carrying all the most current and trendy clothes and gear! What’s not to love?!
Portion sizes were perfect. The food was exceptional and the service was top notch!
Everything we ordered was well prepared and very flavorful. The scallops were cooked to melt in your mouth perfection.
Classic grill offerings limited, dishes extremely flavorful And priced fairly. Noise level acceptable and view of golf course outstanding. Service crisp and professional.
The service was really slow and the food was mediocre compared to the cost. There are much better options in this area.
Everything was great and service was excellent! My suggestions for improvement are (1) This restaurant falls more into the $$$ category based on menu prices we experienced; and (2) I noted on my reservation that we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and we had to inquire whether Toro did anything special-would rather it was proactively offered. All in all, great evening and we appreciated the shuttle service too!
Good food, excellent waiter, interesting menu choices.
Great flavors! Would recommend
Everything! was amazing. The sushi was outstanding and different from any sushi we’ve had before. The fried avocado was delicious and the bread...on my...more please! The service was outstanding...top notch!!!
Very good food , great service and
Great ambiance .
Resort restaurant pricing even quite removed from The Princess. Very slow service...10 minutes to even order first drink. If it wasn’t for the busser/water guy we wouldn’t think they knew we were there.
We were seated and forgotten. The server was nice when we finally were helped after 35 minutes but 2 different glasses of wine we were served were turned. Definitely not the level of service that the other Fairmont Princess restaurants provided.
We like this place even though it is a little pricey
Excellent service and quality of food. We really enjoyed hosting our friends there for dinner!
Such great service! Food presentation was beautiful and it was fun that even though the restaurant was physically separate from the Fairmont Princess it was still part of the hotel and you can sign to your room. Interesting menu choices.
Too noisy for me
Very hard to hear people across the table
Music was OK but a little too loud as well
Everything else I liked
Ambiance very nice, but it was a very quiet evening, so imagine it gets noisier; once sun goes down, not much to see. Food was pretty good for quality - I've tasted better - but good value for what they have. Nice service; prettier in daytime.
We had excellent service and fantastic food. We were there this past Saturday night, 10/26/19 and there was a very talented guitarist who played in the background and also sang. It was very relaxing. We ended up spending 3 hours there and look forward to going back.
Loved the GF rolls and attention to detail. Each couple shared a ceviche appetizer with wonderful corn chips and I had the great local steak. The octopus and scallop entrees got rave reviews as did a special rum cocktail.
Toro is an amazing restaurant. The food and drinks are excellent and it has great ambiance. Our server was also friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Scottsdale.
Always an enjoyable experience here. The food is delicious, not one complaint out of 5 of us. If you have the chance to sit outside, it is delightful.
Great atmosphere, service and food
Birthday celebration and the restaurant’s a acoustic need a big improvement. Sound bounces off glass wall and hard surfaces. They also need much better lighting more subtle it’s hard on the eyes with the way the lighting is now. Our waiter was exceptional and food like Blacken Cod, scallops and snapper were all delicious. Ask for light miso aside with the cod because it can be overwhelmingly salty. This was my third time ordering this dish, so I know now how to order.
The food was very interesting with the blend of Asian/Mexican influences. Service was excellent. Drinks well poured. It is pricey but worth the experience.
